It is recalled under the then President Kuffuor, it became 'Yaa Gye Yen Mann', to wit; we have taken over our nation.

Chopp-chopp and nyafu-nyafu became the order of the day coupled with pure ethnocedntrism and cronyism.

I have been saying this for thousand times. Why so many people? It was the same at Ghana Telecom(GT) where we had 6400 employees and the company was losing $200 million a year.

Vodafone bought 75% of GT and trimmed the workforce to 2500 and the company is running efficiently and making "boucoup" of profits.

That is why the country is in doldrums. A country of 24 million population with 650,000 government employees, that is one government employee per 30 Ghanaians compared to USA where the ratio is one federal employee per 300 USA citizens.

Unless we stop job for the boys, we wilk continue to be in this mess.

Why do we need these many Ministers of State and presidential advisors—from one government to the other?? What do they do all day for the country, since our problems seem to multiply on hourly basis? Can't Parliament reduce the number of "Ministers of State" that a president can appoint, since there are substantive ministers and Deputy ministers at every ministry or at all the MDAs?

Why are African governments so much interested in QUANTITY instead of QUALITY of personnel?? OK, here is the answer to my own question: There aren't many PRIVATE sector jobs in many African countries, because of their own stupidity and foolishness, so the PUBLIC sector (i.e., the government) is where the jobs are and that's why. THESE PEOPLE CANT FIND JOBS ELSEWHERE in the country and flock to beg for government jobs.

But, here is the problem: Ghana CAN'T afford these many unskilled, uneducated and empty headed Negroes, who are not producing anything tangibles for the country, but pushing files and paper around on daily basis. Is the do-nothing parliament also listening? CUT the DAMN thing Down to size and save Ghana some money.
