Unfortunately i am always right , we have a govt that has introduced a system of govt which encourages people not to work rather they all perch on strategic posts or positions like vultures stealing , being bribed and facilitation corruption . our minister of foreign affairs Hannah tetteh ( who by the way isn't a fanti but somehow is an mp for a fanti area) will rather sell the takoradi harbor than do her job of sending condolences to the family of Shirley temple. you step out of your house today and try and do anything its always some non Akan trying to fleece you or shake you down for money and that's the gospel truth . if you are treated fair very likely it was an Akan you dealt with . this is the sorry state of affairs the curse pepeni has brought unto us . the country can never develop as long as such selfish characters are in charge so we wait for the revolution and war instead . long live the republic of Akan

Bad policy by the High commission for a country like Ghana but one can understand where they are coming from – who really wants a currency that is not transferrable and the rate dropping like crazy. May be we should have not changed our currency just as the francophone countries did by keeping the francs(CFA), which is guaranteed by the French Treasury therefore transferrable. Well, I guess it is too late now, so much for our TOTAL independence.

Maybe you don't understand economics all. Do the majority of Ghanaians use Visa/Mastercard etc. or cash? They are denying a majority of Ghanaians the ability to even apply for a visa and further keeping the cede out of circu ...

They are denying a majority of Ghanaians the ability to even apply for a visa and further keeping the cede out of circulation because credit card payments will not be cashed in Cedis… Get a Clue and know when criticism is warranted! If the people of Ghana don't know when and how to fight for their own things this will continue to happen!

Deal with the falling Cedi which is affecting the lives of millions of Ghanaians.

Good. The British High Commision is perfect with their decision and I will urge them not to rescind it whatsoever. I think they took this decision from the NDC govt. because they encouraged payments in dollars in every govt ...

How stupid are these MPs to think its wrong to pay for a Visa with a credit card. Everybody can get a credit card, those who cant get a credit shouldnt be wanting to go to the UK.

The british government is not asking Ghanaians to pay in pounds sterlings or dollars, they say pay with a credit card.
MPs dont have to meet to know ghana economy is so bad that the cedi can fall flat and everybody will lose. UK dont want to lose money because of a paper, debit card payment is the best payment everybody should try to follow.
These MPs instead of begging for foreign money from UK they are wasting our money thinking about why people should pay for things with identity.
The debit/credit cards are your ID and it is usefull for UK government to know who they are allowing into their country.
Its not because of the falling cedi, its a security measure. They will know where and how you get your money into that account. Gone are the days people put cash in their houses for arm robbers.
Everybody who live in the UK has a debit or credit cards, why not ghanaians in ghana.
Its not only in ghana people are asked to pay with debit/credit card for Visa or any government business.
Useless MPs sitting with eyes open yet make ghana cedi falling. Why are these MPs not asking where the oil and cocoa money is? Is ghana not selling oil, cocoa and gold for foreign exchange?
Useless MPs who dont care about about what we sell and import.
The most useless government and MPs ghana has ever had, how can a government use all his foreign exchange to pay foreign company when they dont have enough to do anything else in the country.
Ghana cedi is not falling, it that ghana has no foreign money to import things for the country. Failed government and should resign.
