Successful people recognize crisis as a time for change - from lesser to greater, smaller to bigger.

The financial crisis should not become an excuse to raise taxes, which would only undermine the economic growth required to regain our strength.

Man is not imprisoned by habit. Great changes in him can be wrought by crisis - once that crisis can be recognized and understood

A leader or a man of action in a crisis almost always acts subconsciously and then thinks of the reasons for his action.

I doubt if you have a team of readers who go to Ghanaweb, GLU, Radioxyz or read opinions of daily newspapers with sound minds to balance your thoughts and perception of events relative to your administrative missteps. Mr President, I dont even see such personnel in the list of 678 staff members around you alongside hundreds of cooks, sewers and maintenance personnel.
Get up each morning around 4am and drive around the city and take notes of things needed to be down - What is lacking in Accra is typically the same across the nation - people sleeping in front of kiosks, dirt strewn all over the streets, dusty and unfinished road constructions, power outages even during nights and dawns and a host of disappointing signs of failure. Jot them down. Then come back to your office and summon to task men and women responsible for these unaccepted discoveries. Dont wait for some Kwakye or Dessooso to tell the nation some rosy comparative behaviours like NPP did this or that so we must also accept the worst to justify our suffering.
I believe you are intelligent enough to know that if you dont have money you must not create more debts but find ways to get money to take care of things you need the most. Why this Anita's big salary appointment at the time you tell Parliament our payroll is sinking the economy. Why so many unneeded appointments to satisfy party loyalties at national expense ?

Think production; establish production shops,industries and create opportunities to encourage long lasting Ghanaian private enterprises. Choose professionals and knowledgeable individuals from all faucets of strength whether NPP, NDC, CPP ABC, DDD, FFF, or CCC party to help offer direction. They are parts of the national fold. They are the beneficiaries of the good or bad consequences of governance.

Bigin with things that will create opportunities and restore health at the same time. Consult people on matters affecting people not party and see how you can grow with success. Right it is safe to say a far greater number of Ghanaians are disappointed in the direction you are taking this country.
Organize a discussion forum across the nation twice a year - include ordinary citizens, intellectuals, clergymen, politicians, economists, political opponents, health management personnel, drivers (taxi drivers included), traders, academicals, farmers (real cutlass-in-hand farmers), manufacturers (include knowledgeable CNC machinists and designers). Let these people voice their concerns then draw a plan using these concerns and recommendations and move ahead together as a unified nation seeking a common goal.

But first downsize the expenditure -get rid of mopst of not-so-needed appointments. Aggressively go after money alloted for many stalled road constructions across the nation.

Eschew partisanship and think Ghana First then your voice will be heard.

By contrast, in the case of JM all these traders decided to hike up their prices and mounted a concerted campaign to convince people that life is unbearable. As if that was not enough, Ashantis started instigating all kinds of strikes - and you saw that all the strikes always started from Kumasi.

Wise politicians avoid WASTE and duplication of functions. If you continue to talk sweet to the people, lying to them, stamping out corruption and ensuring efficiency. The suffering will not stand against you. Has BBC not got a correspondent who knows what goes on? Wise presidents do not talk like that to the international media.

The president won an election and that gives him four years in office. As a voter, I expect to see him complete his term and I'll make a determination then as to his success or failure. But I wanted to point out to you and those others who don't appear to get what it is the president is attempting to do. He is attempting to be different. He is advocating a change in the way we conduct our party politics. Ours is yah-boo politics - an adversarial system in which the opposition sees nothing good in government effort or action and derides everything government and opposing politicians say or do. It s indeed precisely that attitude in politics which brought about the disgrace of the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Afriyie, at the Supreme Court of Ghana when he was convicted for contempt of the Court. A move away from yah-boo politics will remove the acrimony and the malignment which pervade our national affairs.

Mahama should know that without constructive criticism from those he think they are not wise, he will fail miserably. Depending on people like Anita Dessoso, Ablakwa, Fifi Kwartey, Felix Ofosu Kwaakye and others who will present to him Akonfem as a Turkey, then I beg to say Mahama don't have the gut to be a leader. He is showing the sign of someone who cannot take political pressure. He should throw in the towel and exit without more disgrace.

Reading his resume and the path he had walked both private and public before his ascendancy to the highest office in the land and his performance to date, it is crystal clear that Mahama is not a leader but may be a helper. He failed to learn his way up because the Presidency just came his way and not something he dreamt, planned and worked for it. He need to resign - He won't take the country no where. E&OE.

A leader ought to be wise by seeking counsel, guidance from elders and wiseman around him and in the country in times of crisis such as we are in now.
Wise leadership means listening to past leaders who have been through it before. Don't throw out your seniors in past government and those you served under. Don't be afraid to have wiseman and wise women around you. Don't send them away as ambassadors or remove them from cabinet by offering them a "Simpa-Portffolio" .
A word to wise is enough. The listening ear is a not a basket. Listen please.

It has been cleared to the listeners of Ghana Today radio , how the presenter Kofi nyarko was rude to the sympathizers of the ruling NDC Gov, on his "wosukabi" program. Kofi nyarko did not end his rudeness, but Kofi organized members from his npp party, especially those who were akan's, they were carefully selected to come on air to dehumanized the rest of the tribes here in Ghana on his radio show. We the listeners here in Ghana can confirm to the PEACE FM management that the home grown npp terrorist who is now residing in Holland kofi nyarko, has done the same thing he was used to on Monday the 10th of February, when one of his regular caller named Joe Canada ,the sympathizer of the ruling NDC Gov. We heard this gentleman who called the program to refute to the comments one of the caller who is also a sympathizer of the opposition party the npp. The npp man called the program and run insults and accused the people from the Volta Region for the hardships the country is currently facing, he said according to him, he didn't understand why the Ewe's should elect somebody like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa as their MP , he asked? He went on by saying the Ewe's gives their Votes to anything in front of them, even animals. This uncalled-for words goes down well for the host Kofi nyarko which he congratulated the frustrated npp caller. When the sympathizer to the ruling NDC Gov, Joe Canada, also call the program to refute the unfortunate comments from the npp caller, kofi nyarko who can't hide his affection support for the opposition p npp party ,quickly jumped to defend the npp caller. Kofi nyarko gave his strong warning to the NDC caller not to dare call his radio programs to contribute again, he went on to said , he won't even pick up his call anytime he sees he Joe Canada's number on his phone. These ugly situations compelled some of us to send a strong warning to PEACE FM management, to urgently arrest this situation before its get out of hands. We believed kofi nyarko is trying hard to sow a tribal seeds between us here in GHANA and abroad. The management of PEACE FM must know that kofi nyarko who was placed on npp pay roll to tarnish the ruling NDC Gov, and his division tactics by playing a tribal cards is dangerous to our society and our young democracy here in GHANA We are looking forward to see the management of PEACE FM to call un-erected host kofi nyarko to immediate order before we hit the street of Accra.

Who created the problem in the first place, who created the crisis in the first place and who created the challenges in the first place and was it wise on the part of those politicians in this case the NDC gov't led by John Mahama and Amissah Arthur to have created those crisis?
In holding elected officials accountable in any democracy, it is good to stand by the gov't in times of crisis only and only if, the gov't has demonstrated the capacity to solve the issues, acknowledges and accepts responsibility for the gov't's own creation ie the crisis, challenges and failures, and seeks the needed help which is obviously absent and lacking in it's fold, and hence the crisis, to move the country forward, and not resort to propaganda, lies, insults and innuendos and the casting of aspersions against the masses, when it is clear that even if the needed and requisite help was rendered, the gov't still lacked the mental capacity and competence to solve the crisis.
In holding politicians accountable for such self-inflicted and reckless actions with impunity that creates such crisis, it is important for the gov't to eat humble pie and be bold and accept the fact that, they have failed and need help, and should the help include them being kicked out of office at the ballot box, they accept it graciously, and allow a competent team to take over for the country to progress. The sycophantic posturing for which the gov't would want the masses to exhibit is not the panacea and the solution to the crisis.

Let's get practical here. If a gov't exceeds it's budget by 8.7billion cedis equivalent to a little over $4billion dollars and sits down expecting $3billion dollars from a CDB loan to construct the Gas project, to augment our electric power generation capacity then, there's a problem.
Just recently a news report on Ghanaweb from VRA talked about Ghana requiring 200MW generation capacity annually and this required $200million dollars to bring this capacity on stream over the next 10 years. If the over $4billion dollars was even to be split into two, Ghana could have brought 2000MW on stream in just 3 months, judging by the timeframe within which the funds were dissipated, with the other half going into the gas project.
We all know the importance of electric power generation to the fortunes of the economy and investment.
These are practical scenarios and so to have the NDC gov't talk of a crisis and "unwise politicians making ugly noises" like it's somebody's doing is very unfortunate and highly insulting.
The NDC gov't should tone down on the insults, the propaganda and seeking to court empathy when the masses are at the receiving end of such recklessness. Ghana needs to move forward but most definitely with a team that is wise, competent, visionary, focused and has the mental acuity to move the country forward and not this NDC gov't led by John Mahama and Amissah Arthur.
