Let me tell you something my son, Baden Powell site was formerly part of Action which Otabil took away with him left Action and change the name to the present name. He used the school he has established as a camouflage but the actual fact is he hates intellectuals as he couldn't complete secondary form 3. In the 80's and 90's all his preaching was indirectly against scholars or simply graduates.

This kind of behavior is to your own detriment.You also sound like a struggling old man attacking someone the lord has blessed with wisdom and knowledge.It is not an easy job starting church more so if it's a break away,because people like you will be welcome during the beginning and in no time turn around and be biting fingers that fed you. But not withstanding all that he is successful. Read what he posted here again then go into yourself and see if there is any need to attack him. He has change lives, impact many by the transmission of the word of God. My question to you mr Kwakye what have you done? Commentators don't usually play the game but can find and know everything that went wrong except that they cant fix the problem.

Pastor Mensa Otabil is supposed to stand by the gospel of Jesus Chris which he himself called the "living word" but when his own words were played back to show that a certain politician's words were irresponsible and could not match up to the living word, Pastor Mensa Otabil denied the gospel just like Peter did even though unlike Peter, there was no death threat hanging on his neck had he allowed his "living word" to continue to purge the hearts of the ungodly.

By his actions, Pastor Mensa Otabil has no credibility left in him to criticize any politician as a prostitute for not standing for something. If Otabil could not stand up for his "living word" of Christ, he too is a prostitute of a sort when it suits him and he is no different from politicians who cross carpet for their own benefit. I am almost sure that if Otabil had been a politician, he would not have been different from those people he is criticizing today because he was prepared to turn his "living word" into a "dead word" when it was necessary for him to do so to preserve the votes of the said politician who made the ungodly all-die-be-die statement contrary to the "living word". What a shame that such a person should pontificate to us on standing firm for what we believe!!!

Whilst I completely agree with you, what I am also saying is that Pastor Mensa Otabil has shown by his very conduct in the latter part of 2012 that when it comes to politics, he is also ready to bend his principles or what he professes to strongly believe in (i.e. the gospel of Christ) to achieve political ends.

Oh, how I wish that Otabil had stuck to the living word instead of his political pay masters when he had to choose between these two in 2012!!! By now, he would have gained the instant respect of both God and every discerning Ghanaian when he talks on every subject but unfortunately, he also followed his stomach in the sense that he wanted NPP to win (and not the gospel of Christ) so that he can continue travelling with diplomatic passports and getting all the pecks he used to get from the Kuffour government but which the Atta Mills government terminated. It is a crying shame that this is the person who is now criticizing our politicians!!!

Does voting for different presidential hopefuls not amount to 'not having a stand'? Please, I need clarification.

I used to hook unto the sensible preachings or teachings of Pastor Mensa Otabil until I realized that he himself did not live up to his teachings and preachings. At that point, I felt that the man is fake in the sense that he is like a 419 con man who is sweet-talking people with motivational speeches anchored on the Bible so that they would come to his church in order for him to fleece them off and live a fabulously good life.

Aaron, beware of these last days we are living in for in our day, the Bible has become a merchandize to be traded for easy money for a good life. The genuine pastors in our mist are very few indeed!!!

By the way, have you heard the latest boastings by Archbishop Duncan Williams? He is boasting not in the lord or about the salvation of souls but rather in his own ability to pay or take care of several people from his personal success at making money. I was so disappointed when I heard this ungodly boast from him because come to think of it, how did he make his money if not from people's tithes and offerings which they gave for the propagation of the gospel and the salvation of souls. Therefore, any boast based on that money should be about how many people have been reached or touched with the gospel because of that money and not how rich the leader of that ministry is because of that money. No one can deny that the leader in such a context is merely a chief steward of other people's money entrusted to God for the doing of God's work.

Aaron, there is no reconciliation needed here. You are comparing apples to oranges. As a good citizen of Ghana, it is your responsibility to vote for the presidential candidate that who represents the issues that are important to you. This is a personal choice can can/should change each election depending on who is running.

What the pastor is talking about are politicians associated to a political party. These are people who have sworn allegiance to a party because they believe in what the party stands for certain principles and ideals they also believe. Please note that Otabil is not saying that it is wrong to leave a political party. He is speaking to reasons why people leave the party. If for example, a politician feels that the party has changed and no longer represents what he believes, then changing political parties is the right thing to do. However, if the politician decides to leave because he didn't receive some benefit he felt he was entitled to, then that is just being mercenary.

We must all have some core principles in life that we stand for, otherwise we will blow with the wind. It is these principles that define us, and will serve as our legacy when we are gone, as is the case of Nelson Mandela. This is the point Otabil was making.

But is that the only problems bothering him? What about his so called men of God who are doing evrything dirty to bring chaos into this country? Honestly, if there is one problems that Ghanaians are facing now, it is the actions of these so called men of God. As for his denial of his living words, played back to him and his subsequent insults against a whole political party, the least said about it the better. Then someone who did not care to heed this gospel truth went wild and desperate and stated that as for the 2012 elections, violence was sanctioned because it was supposed to be an "ALL-DIE-BE-DIE" affair in order for him to win. Shouldn't every genuine man-of-God leave such a politician to suffer the consequences of his ungodly intentions and utterances? Yet, Otabil rather performed complicated acrobatics to safe this politician from choking on his own ungodly utterances.

By his actions in aid of this politician, Otabil chose this politician over the gospel of Christ because I know so many people who have stopped listening to Otabil's living word on radio because of this incident. Now, these are people who could have been converted to Christianity if this man had stuck to his gospel and not politics.

Is this the kind of pastor who can mount the moral high horse to look down on any politician in Ghana when he himself is ready to kill the "living word" (the gospel of Christ) in order to make it a dead gospel to serve political ends?

I think most politicians in Ghana are there for their well being and not to make Ghana any better. They have free cars, free fuel, free accommodation, and a host of allowances and yet they are still corrupt and get away with it. They sell government properties to themselves and get away from it, and yet the same people still vie for political positions. How come that no politicians or CEOS are every held responsible for any short falls in Ghana politics? We look forward to the day that projects such as good quality road, supply of eater and electricity are all over the place. sometimes I ask myself if the black man is capable of managing his own affairs. I think there too many universities and where are the jobs to absorb the products? Why can the universities put their resources together to establish companies? Poor Ghana. All politicians know are to fight for exgratia awards, and their comfort after four years leaving teachers, doctor, nurses, and civil servant at he mercy of themselves, why cant we leave the country for greener pastures they send their children to school abroad and refuse to tell us how they are able to pay for their wards abroad. Parliament has become rubber stamp I think they are only there for themselves. We have a very very long way to go as a country.
