FOR HOW LONG SHALL WE SIT DOWN UNCONCERNED??? READ BELOW--------AUTHOR : OBAA YAA-----This loan agreement was approved by Parliament in August 2011 amid controversy over the terms and conditions of the loan agreement, particularly, the collateralization of oil against the loan. As a result, the minority in parliament (NPP) abstained from the vote but the majority had their way.
So far, we have received only about $600 million from the $3 billion loan and continued to pay commitment fees on the whole loan. Assuming the annual commitment fees is 1% of the $1 billion which is common to most international loan. Ghana could be paying $30,000 million a year to CDB depending on the repayment period. How can Ghana pay $30,000 million annually and receive mere $600 million in two years? In other words, Ghana may be paying 50 times what she is receiving in fees alone. If this is not fraud, what is it?

Fact is,the demolitions may be necessary, but it is the way the whole thing is being done.
They should have planned it,not this "boga boga" way.

You don’t make sense, which is why there is so much indiscipline and lawlessness in the country. You cannot encroach on land that does not belong to you. It is as simple as that. It does not matter how much was spent on the illegal construction. The government though should facilitate title searches to prevent the duplicate and triplicate sales of land and property. I think Ghana needs to have some title insurance to protect buyers and also lenders. It is not rocket science to maintain and update data and the Lands Department or agency responsible for this should learn from other areas/countries who have mastered the trade.

To be frank, what the TDC in collaboration security operatives did to the people of Adjei Kojo has affected the inner core of all the support base of the NDC in the area. Even the organizer for the party in ther area was marshaling people against the NDC just because his house was also pulled down. Lets face it, the TDC boss should come clean to admit that he did not take money from the Association to induce him and the TDC not to pull down the buildinds at Sraha East, Adjei Kojo or not. Why was it also that Col. Salifu issued a threat to the chairman of the association that he will make sure that he is sacked from his employment. On the day Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo visited the site this matter was posed to him. In fact Tema Development Corporation is a 'mafia organization has used clandestine means to take property from others and are being backed by some unscrupulous politicians who cannot read in between lines. Definitely we are going galvanize every resource in our midst to make sure that anything NDC does not come to the area again.

Alhaji Osman Musah needs to put his thinking cap on instead of going into gutter level politics. One of the reasons of the many reasons governments in Ghana have failed to implement planned cities and or communities is the lack of conviction and or follow through with their ideas and ideals.
Some three (3) years ago China's communist government displaced cities and towns down the Yang-tse river path so it could flood those lands in an effort to divert and build a dam to generate hydro-electric power plant that would benefit the entire nation. People over the world saw the only horror as that decision went into implementation but some three (3) later the people of China continue to develop the infrastructures of cities and towns that help the manufacturing and production capacities of cities, towns and communities. In Ghana we have allowed our self-serving but mostly worthless compassion to derail development and modernization efforts as they incite Ghana's down and out masses to demonstrate against government acts that may be punitive in the short term but beneficial to Ghana's unemployed and underemployed in the long run.
Case in point: during K.A. Busia's administration his government purchased a bunch of gear with the aim of upgrading the rain runoffs and sewage drainage system in some parts of Accra particularly along the sewage canal flowing into Korle-lagoon. By the time Busia was forced out of office, those coverts and gear had been abandoned. Busia, like all Ghanaian leaders of the era, did not have the courage to do what was needed done to improve Accra because such a project may affect some of Accra’s living poor along the path. To date the areas along the path of the drainage systems into the Korle-lagoon is still as filthy and shitty as it ever was. It is about time we asked our maker to give us courage to do the right things that benefit the nation instead of those selfish special interest tunnel vision bull. To make headway with planned communities, the government along with private entities will have to tear down some structures which do not meet community planning standards, commercial and residential zoning standards and or fit for human occupancy. Unplanned communities and cities have hindered development in many ways, from lack of effective utility (water, electricity, telephone and cabling) distribution, hindered service (mail, fire, police and emergency services) deliveries and overall health, safety and security of communities. The time has come for you, Alhaji Osman Musah, to see some good in demolition exercises to the public; not all things are bad.
