I hope the chief is smart enough to not have done the silly invocation of deity (whatever that means) on his own people. I actually doubt if what is attributed to the chief in the title is true, because I expect him to know better. The chief has to know that if you hang out with the "wrong" crowd then you would be painted with the same dirty brush. You know, the old adage "show me your friend and I will tell you your character".

Nobody can hide the light and true destiny of the great nation of Akan. they use all kinds of schemes and tricks to undermine or deny a proper standard to us but we shall never surrender. we shall change and adapt as like the Israelis we are the chosen people of God and he in his great design has made us diverse but unified in spirit. the ashantis like the tribe of Judah are and will remain an integral part of our being to to attack any one part we all end up feeling it sooner or later. they have succeed in turning some of our chiefs and kings against us and work for their evil ungodly agenda but we still see clearly . God has brought us into the 21st century and with that a new system of governance and state of mind based on democracy since it is HE alone who blesses the individuals with the gift of leadership wisdom and justice irrespective of status at birth. he has shown us the blue print of the way forward in the bible and other holy books and the time has come to free ourselves from this man made bondage called Ghana. just as in the Ukraine we must fight so the truth will come out , fear not the battle as they will crumble like the walls of Jericho . cast away our so called fake leaders and politicians who are nothing but cowards and like our enemies fear even their own shadows . yes God has put a million fears in their empty bodies as he who does not fear the Lord , the Lord will ensure all fears of the world will reside in him. They threaten us with superstition , juju and what have you and we say fuck you and go to hell as the divine power is with us . Yes all the tribes of Akan are fingers on the same hands and God has ordained we remain united so our strength and light will be visible throughout the whole world and universe , our time has come . everyday its becoming clearer and clearer to all children of Akan that we must prepare mentally for a battle of freedom . they come with tricks that say we must take a non Akan as our leader because its nice ? do they not think that out of 30 million Akans we can not find sensible down to earth leaders and warriors to lead our own people to our own destiny? a govt of the people and by the people is what the 21st century democracy is all about . let them continue to play with the consensus and other figures that justify their fantasy and enable them to marginalize the participation of the Akan majority in the Affairs of their own land , to marginalize us thus preventing us to afford a better standard for our people . The had of God has given them pestilence after pestilence but they refuse to let our people go , soon they will be swept away like chaff in the hurricane of fury . Long live the republic of Akan and don't you forget it as now the Fanti speakers, Twi speakers, Ashantis and other tribes of Akan are now one .

In the late 79 and early 80s when Rawlings turned his arsenals on him and insulted him publicly and did everything he could do to provoke him and Asanteman, the King did not open his mouth. It is through his wisdom and integrity that Asanteman did not collapsed.

From our history, Nana Agyeman Prempeh II went through the same thing under Nkrumah. It was through his wisdom that Asanteman continues to be Asanteman, else Chieftaincy would have been "destroyed."

But what do you see and hear from this Asantehene, except whining and whining and whining and whining. Don't we have any wise man in the Asanteman council to tell him to shut up, because his carelessness has brought all this allegation.

A lot of problem is going on in the Ashanti Region, and see what the King is concerned about- himself. Very absurd, indeed. In order not to offend him or some sycophants who will close their eyes to this idiocy, he should abdicate the throne and save us the shame.

What about the NHIS being used to 'punished' the people in Ashanti Region? What about stinky filth that has risen to the 7th heavens and engulfed the once Garden City of West Africa? What about encroachment everywhere in the City, including our parks and garden? What about strangers buying "chieftaincies" from crooks to become Nananom and being allowed into the palace to swear an oath/allegiance while he looks on?

Don't you walk or drive around Kumasi and begin to ask yourself what happened to our great City? As a child, you could just walk around Kejetia and thank your heavens you were born into this city; the parks surrounding Kejetia, where one could walk there and watch the aged with more brains than Bobby Fisher (the great Chess player) playing Dame and Oware and wonder how they managed to get to "Akroma?" You can then take a few steps to the best ZOO in West Africa at that time- all kinds of animals could be found there. Then take less than 50 steps to Cultural Center and Ashanti Library. And if you are not tired, you could even go to Komfo Anokye Hospital to watch the "sword."

We have a king who neither cares about the city nor those that live in. He is more concerned about flying to aborokyie, just like cousin-in-suit, Kufuor and forgetting about his subjects and cities, including Obuasi. Was this King born in Kumasi? Did he see all these things while growing up in Kumasi or was he sent to a village to be taught Asantesem and therefore saw or knew nothing?

Sorry, I do not believe that Otumfuor is going the right way. Otumfuor is the head and defender of and intercessor for his people, and for that reason he cannot call the gods that way. As a good leader, he rather must call the gods to examine him and verify that he is clean. It is then up to the gods to decide whether the culprits must be punished or cautioned.
According to what we learnt from our ancestors, the Otumfuor can only call the gods to look into the rumours and bring out the truth. He should call the Ntamkeseer Mmiernsah to "examine the rumours and if they are true, then punish me", the same way he swore to the gods and people that: "baring sickness and/or death, if I do not serve you as befitting an Ashanti King, then I would submit myself as prey for sacrifice". Let Otumfuor swear the appropriate oath and we will all believe him. Otherwise, the rumour mongers will come out again with more believable tales about the his past and present and future!
For example people are still wondering whether there is any truth in the rumour about a warrant in Canada, where Otumfuor once sojourned. They way people make these rumours leaves little doubt in the minds of most of us to doubt their authenticity. We do not leave in a vacuum. Before moving to the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuor was the next-door neighbour of two other families. So if these people come out to describe a former girl-friend who visited the big man on weekends, or the fruit trees in Otumfour’s back-garden, who are we to doubt them? Calling the gods to punish such informers would not yield any dividends.
For a start, not everybody knows the originators of these rumours, so even if Otumfuor’s curses on them are fulfilled, it would take ages for the news to seep through. However, if Otumfuor dares the gods to examine him, then if the god’s punish him for telling lies, we will all know it instantly. And if the gods absolve him, it would also be immediately evident to all.

Otumfour Opoku Ware was very well liked and highly respected by everyone because of the way he comported himself and went about his duties in his capacity as Asantehene.
We simply adored him and thought very highly of him plus he was very noble, humble and decent that nobody ever had any suspicion nor any thought to say any disparaging thing at him let alone to accuse him of any thing suspicious.
Unfortunately for you, since you ascended to the Golden Stool, the Soul of Asanteman, you've been attacked with barrage of unflappable comments on your character and your personal activities. Whatever gave cause to people to have sour opinion of you is not going to be easy for you to shake it off.
One thing for sure you should do, is to objectively and critically examine your past activities and correct those that you think might have raised red flags on your integrity and honesty, things like your political party association, people you associate with and your business activities.
Nana, you know people are entitled to their own opinions. So, for you to invoke the Golden Stool and God to punish those who speak ill against you, no matter how dramatic you expressed your annoyance, is not the solution to your predicament. Openness is the key.

Otumfour, I have read a number of articles about a case of installation of the Omanhene of Kumawu Traditional Area which apparently is not being properly handled by your office. Honourable Otumfour, are the allegations levelled against you of a relationship with the queenmother of Kumawu true? And what about the Kumawu lands in the Afram Plains that you have taken a sizeable portion? Otumfour, when such allegations are made and the Kumawu case continues for that long, people are compelled to believe such allegations. You are honourable and I suggest that you prove to people that there is no truth in the Kumawu allegations by swift judgement.

What bothers me is why Otumfour with all these allegations? Why not any other of the big kings in Ghana? My advice is whatever you have to do to salvage the image of the Golden Stool you have to do that and on time. There have been many allegations and why should that be. I was in Kumasi some time ago and I heard of the sale of the race course area to the late Gaddafi of Libya for some investment...and people were talking about it here and there. Please honourable Otumfour, save our name and that of the Golden Stool from these allegations - or unnecessary allegations.
