  The suggestion is indeed a good one, because person selected by the president are almost corrupt because they feel to work for the president but not for the nation and as a result underdevelopment becomes unbeatable..

How many of our brothers and sisters from the north are working down south because there is no development in the northern areas?.That is why Nduom, and indeed the Progressive People's Party (PPP) is talking about. If our past and present leaders Afrifah,Ankrah,Busia,Acheampong,Akuffo,Rawlings,Kuffuour and Mahama have led Ghana why do you think Nduom is not fit to be a leader in our nation?.Think again for you sound like one of the 678 in the office of the Presidency and so you are not bothered about the fate or lot of brothers and sisters who are locked up in the north.

This fourth republic is old enough for amendment of the constitution to take place. The experimentation period is over.

  As bribery and corruption exists in every fibre in Ghana,it would be worthwhile for every entity,town,village,municipality etc,who know what is good for and befits them,in standing in the gap for them,has to be chosen to rule over them,BUT NOT THE PRESIDENT,WHO WILL CHOOSE ON THE MERIT OF STAUNCH PARTICIPATION IN HIS PARTY'S AFFAIRS.
  
  NDUOM MEANS REASONABLE AND BIG HERE.
  One cannot be truSted in GHANA(including the president and politicians),ANYMORE,therefore,if the people could be given the freedom to choose their representatives,they would stand the chance of choosing someone they could trust,rely on,among the bunch.

  My concern about this is that executives directly elected could be at loggerheads with the President and it could be detrimental to the local area as well as for Ghana. The President can't fire the elected person. I'd rather have a strict unitary government and hold one person;the president; responsible. A good president can then move the country unhindered. I can see Busia elected as an executive of a local area under Nkrumah and Busia frustrating Nkrumah's programs. Nkrumah could not have moved the country like he did. LEAVE IT ALONE.
