These folks are not willing to talk about any strategy to capture more Regions than in the previous Election. They still do not believe that many Ghanaians remain offended by Nana's ill-advised "Yen Akanfuor de.." utterances.
It would be smarter of Nana to render unconditional apology to non-Akans for that remark as a starter, then from that point on, adopt a more humble posture and appeal to all folks to join him to salvage the Nation.
Something as this simple could turn many minds away from the hurt he inflicted upon the psyche of those offended folks. Just parading Dr. Bawumia as a running mate would not do it. The latter is seen as a charade to fool the rest for their votes only for Nana to pursue his "Yen Akanfuor ..." Supremacy agenda.
Akufo-Addo stepping aside to offer Dr. Bawumia the substantive Flagbearer chance might even be a more hopeful sign for victory to NPP.

I do not belong to any political party, but I believe strongly if NPP can summon the necessary courage and make Bawumia their flagbearer and Joe Ghartey his veep, they will win the three northern regions, Ashanti and Eastern regions as well as western and central regions without much sweat. Those seven regions are enough for them to form the next government. If, however, Akuffo Addo contests again, NDC will certainly win again despite Mahama's economic performance. This is because many Ghanaians are understandably buying into NDC's argument that NPP is a tribal (AShanti-Akyem) party. It is a forceful argument which is fast gaining ground and will become very difficult to erase in the minds of many people. If NPP wants to win power convincingly, they must look at this issue carefully and adopt a winning strategy.

If Akufo-Addo insists on coming back to lead the NPP it would be only for his ego and possibly his hunger for a share in the Oil revenue booty.
I detest to see any leading Politician who sat there for Ghana to lose control of her Natural Resources and other vital Assets to foreigners wrestle for our Presidency.
As an Attorney-general, Akufo-Addo did nothing to stop the take-over of our Oboasi Gold mines. He could not help negotiate for us to keep our submarine fibre optic cable line as a separate deal from the Telecom sold to the British via Vodafone. Then came the heavy clouds blanketing our Oil deal with Kosmos.
What a failed legacy of unpatriotic passivity? Or, was it all a deliberate collusion to sell off our assets for a hidden offshore account?
The question of us not having our own financial capacity to harness our Resources is a mute one and it is obvious the rush to give away these resources was all under the guise of privatization. A well organized Capital search from within and among Ghanaians and not restricted to cronies of the incumbent Administration would have secured most of the shares of these resources to Ghana.
So far as I am concerned, Akufo-Addo has had more than his fair share of opportunities to lead the Nation and he should simply exit and make room for more trusted candidates.
The current revelations of corruption around the NPP Chairmanship by Kennedy Agyapong further establish Akufo-Addo's aloofness at the head of the Party, even if he could be exonerated from being part of that corruption.
Ghana does not need a President who would look away or remain clueless while his or her aids go on looting rampage. We cannot risk anymore of such inept Presidency.
There are enough more promising candidates like Dr. Frimpong Boateng, Dr. Bawumia, Dr. Arthur Kennedy that we can choose from.
