Every politician runs to South Africa and the West for a mere medical checkup, and they want to wear the Armani suits, Italian made shoes etc., and yet they are telling the citizens to patronize local goods/services. We don’t have the infrastructure to supply the goods but we are touting buying local goods. We allow in all these made in China cheap goods and give the local producers no incentive to compete, and yet we preach, buy local. Empty slogans, do not make it so – the administration needs to come up with policies and incentives to keep local producers competitive in the market. You can’t tax the local industrialist to death and expect them to grow.

Every government after Gen. Acheampong's has fail to appreciate the positive impact of his Operation Feed Yourself program on the economy and people of Ghana.
Governments and policy makers abandon this program and implemented policies that encourages importation and dependence on outside for everything and that is the result of our present situation.

There is nothing to talk about goods made here. I can count the number of factories and what we produce on my fingers. We do not produce simple things like matches or tooth pick. It is not a matter of choice to buy foreign goods. The made in Ghana goods are simply not there, if they are there they are more expensive than the imported ones. Until we lay down the ingrdients for businesses to thrive, our efforts will yield only half results. These ingredients are affordable and reliable power supply, water, first class roads and railways. When these things are in place, people wouldn't mind siting their factories anywhere thus generating employment everywhere, not only in the cities. This will cut down on urban migration.

I very impressed about the decision the president wants to lead the country by promoting made in Ghana goods. It seem that he has finally come to his senses by thinking about sanctions the world economic powers will impose upon the country for refusing abide by their impose rules and doctrines and refusal lead to sanctions. Both Ukraine and Uganda were under pressure to endorse gay rights and their refusal to do the world economic powers influence the opposition to create anachy that will draw the internation community to impose sanctions. Its time government lead and stop given contracts to foreign companies because foreign countries did not give Ghana contractors contracts. The whole George Bush highway was done by Ghanaians from masonery, steelbenders, carpentry, plumbers, drivers skills are all done by Ghanaians and not the contractor. All the high rises are all done by the same skilled profession mention above. Our request to GOD to bless our homeland Ghana and make it great and strong has been answered by GOD.GOD has given Ghana with inventors and innovators to use their products to achive our request to become great and strong. Its time government set examples by buying some of Apostle Safo cars for our security forces and other agencies and his early fire dictection warning preventive system to install at all government buildings and institutions.Well done mr pesident two thrumb up.

Whatever you spent there has contributed in no small way to the falling cedi. What nations that are serious do when they are in economic crises do is to cut or reduce spending until their economic situation improves. A govt that is going to finance people to go to Brazil for world cup competition to support the national team. It is not done in even rich countries. Let the NFA get private sponsors or be creative to raise money privately to support the national team. What a waste and you tell Ghanaians to be patient for the economic crises would be a short term one. Continue to fool them, my friend.
