Like they said prior to the 2008 elections, this same propagandist party campaigned on one-time premium payment on NHIS....5years on, nothing has changed. Rather, for the scums that they are, they are using Ashanti Region as a cash cow to finance and capitalize the NHIS for the whole Ghana, on the flimsy excuse that it has the most population density and diversity to pilot some useless co-payment study.......is there any region more diverse and dense than Greater Accra? They won't do it there because that will cause them votes. Ashanti is okay for them because they can't win there anyway.

Who starts a pilot project study on a focus group that is the biggest of the population you are trying to study? Except clueless and useless NDC. What they are doing is like starting a new drug trial on the biggest population sector, when common sense should tell you that the propensity of something going wrong and the consequences thereof is huge, and therefore you should start small? Why not start in your World Bank regions to see their viability and popularity? Nonsense!

And just look at how he framed the start date of his so-called free Senior High School initiative....2015/2016, perfectly timed to coincide with the election cycle so that he can say they are offering the same thing the NPP is offering.

This government presented no true state of the nation, which is supposed to be a snap-shot of things as is, and his account of his stewardship for the prior year, and asking for bills or authorization to do certain things; he just went on promises of things he has not delivered, and turn around and say he has done very well...postdated 3 years into the future, and the fools say halleluya! This president just went into parliament to joke and have funfair...he ought to have re-presented the budget to the MPs, and that will have been a time well spent.

For a government that has not been able to fulfill any of its prior promises - STX-Korea, One-time premium, University in the Eastern Region, petroleum price reduction, uninterrupted power supply; and is inundated and laced with many mind boggling corruption scandals - Woyome, GYEEDA, Waterville, SADA, Isofoton, etc.....who do they think they were fooling? Not people like me, of course, except their Fan-Fools.....Ede Be Keke crooks!!

The unity of our dear country must not be compromised for any political gain. We must respect every tribe in the country and avoid playing on the minds of those who have not been lucky to have any formal education for our selfish earns. Any politician who is sensible and love GHANA must stop pointing at where TRIBAL POLITICS might have come from, because that will not take us anywhere. Another person will come and point at another direction. The fact is that, today we all know it is not a good thing to do and must be discouraged, rather than use it to our selfish advantage. The unity of our dear nation is more important than the survival of any political grouping. Ghana has been there long before any of these parties (which have a lot of selfish and insincere individuals) were formed. Ghana will be there when they are long gone. Let us sincerely pledge our loyalty to GHANA rather than a political party. How sincere are most of the members of these parties when it comes to stewardship with things of the nation? RESPECT AND EMBRACE EVERY TRIBE. In that lies the STRENGTH of OUR NATION. With that we will DEVELOP, HAVE PEACE and be WEALTHY. LONG LIVE GHANA.

How many people in ashanti region pay taxes towards the NHIS? Until the king is able to collect taxes from his people towards NHIS he should continue doing what he been doing for years when he is not well and leave the government alone.
The king has enough money to train 2000 doctors in 5 years. Why government and government all the time when the king has lots of money and gold that belongs to the people.
A king is always the poor among his clan, he duty in the health of his people and the people duty is to pay their taxes for this to happen.
National Insurance is not a tax that is paid because somebody is not well. It a tax that should be paid regularly when people are well and working.
John Mahama is discriminating against all Ghanaians not only the Ashantes. Every where you go in ghana it the same lack of medical staff.

Diamond (from the Akyem in the Eastern Region) --- 2,633,527 ct
Bauxite (from the Western Region) --- 333,458 mt
Manganese (from the Western Region) --- 596,572 mt

(Source mining policy of Ghana)

Value today:
Gold --- $1400 per oz
Diamond --- from $1500 to $150,000 per carat (depending on the quality)
Bauxite --- $150 per mt
Manganese --- $450 per tonne

Even though today diamond production from Akyem has stopped temporarily Akyem districts must be given its fair share of projects. Discrimination against Akyems districts has been going on for at least the last forty years. A visit to the Akyem districts would indicate the poor state of districts: bad roads, poor infrastructure. The state of the districts is not reflective of the revenue it has contributed over the last 100 years.

Some Ghanaians do not know that Akyems (Akims) and Ashantis are two different groups of people and existed as two different states about 150 years ago. They are all Akans and have some things in common. Akyem districts make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region.

I have a word of caution for the good people of Ashanti region. Never trust this government because if my memory serves me right, I remember Mills saying that he "fears the Ashanti project". Unquote. This government has some sinister move against Ashantis and they should exercise caution when accepting anything from them.

To me this project should have started from the Northerner regions or Volta region. Why? Because they are the "world bank of NDC and deserve better".
