What Akufo Addo said is rather a butt of calumny. For Akofu Addo to unblushing hold Ghana ransom for nine good months with bogus election petition and then turn around to blame the government for lack of investment Ghana is like telling corny jokes. The Cedi can therefore not pull her butt out of the fire by digging out old jokes like Akufo Addo is doing or without draconian measures like Mahama government have taken. This recent measures taken by the Ghana government has been done to cool the waters at least for now in all the countries where the currency has taken a nose dive. Ghana is not alone in this situation and for starters Ghana is not an island in today’s intertwined world trade. Such cheap shots from Akufo Addo which plays to the gallery is like a dentist joke. Ghana was facing stagnation before Kufuor and cohorts like him left office. Has he forgotten Kufuors last act by ordering ministries to save even on pencils? Oh forgotten Akufo Addo is well over 70 years and amnesia is a problem at this age.

See, the American economy is not back to its old self but has made decent recovery over the last 9 months which leaves the rest of the world catching cold when America sneezes. So the old saying 'if the United States sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold' remains relevant" still today.

If Akufo Addo neglects the facts of recent tapering from the FEDERAL RESERVE which bailed and therafter pumped $85 billion into the American economy monthly since the near economic meltdown of 2008 - ignited by Lehman Brothers and Casino Banks – the tapering is now being curtailed by $10 billion each month which now stands at $65 billion - subsequently leaving the currency all emerging markets like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Turkey, China, India, South Africa, Japan reeling and feeling the pinch then Akufo Addo is the perfect clown to lead Ghana if ever he is voted to occupy the seat for making such utterances.

Look Akufo Addo, here is economics 101; investors always sail in the direction of the wind so they behave like locust. They go were the make the most out of their money. In other words, capital takes a flight in turbulent and jittering times on the Global economy and settles in tranquil sanctuary. The slightest insecurity leads to the stock exchange bearing the brunt where the global players are represented. So we all take a hit when you play at such centers where currency, gold, oil , various products etc are speculated. The slogan buy, sell or hold is still the pivoting factor that determines the markets at the bourse. The smallest nervousness sends the markets jittering and since we are part of the Global marketplace we either buoyed up or feel the pinch by sinking.

Maybe with exception of Russia and China the rest of us have nowhere to go when America sneezes. We are left vulnerable to catch cold even if it is not with us because most of our trade is tied to the dollar. So anything that happens to the dollar has a far reaching ramification for those of us under the dollar umbrella. It is what it is. So Akufo Addo stop being mischievous. You can have your own opinion but not own facts.

After six months of hiatus, and the firestorm that has overwhelmed the pocketbooks of our people, all Akufo Addo has to offer is a dry, and cheap joke at the expense of our currency.

He is ignorant of the fact that, to belittle the cedi in a forum organized by potential foreign investors is not a sign of leadership. It's not even a sign of sour-grapes for losing the election to the man who is at the helm of the country, -- in this global economic firestorm.

If he is really serious about leading this country to prosperity; he would have used that wonderful opportunity to convinced the potential investors to look beyond the funk in our present economy, to the possibilities of opportunities that await them, if they invest in our country's economy and its currency.

Generalizations, and dry jokes are unacceptable from the man who erroneously thinks that, he was born to rule our beloved Great Ghana.

May Lord Almighty continue to bless our beloved Great Ghana:

The BOG must ensure that foreign currencies are supplied to only Ghanaian importers of foreign goods. These must not fall into the hands of foreigners operating in Ghana who earn cedis but who would want to transfer funds to their shareholders in dollars.

Ghana has a market economy. Ghana is not an OECD country. Prices of goods and services in Ghana must be determined by demand and supply.

There is supply of certain currencies but absolutely no demand for those currencies. What should be the value of these currencies? These currencies include Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, Swiss Franc, Danish krone, Swedish krona, Norwegian Krone. All EU countries must transfer or bring to Ghana only Euros.

The global supply of United States dollars is disturbing.

On the contrary there is demand for chinese Yuan but there is no supply in Ghana.

We must not forget that the role of currency is to facilitate the exchange of goods and services. That is commodity-Money-Commodity (C-M-C)

Your JA Kuffour claimed to have made the cedi equivalent to the US dollar overnight by simply moving the goalposts. Instead of 100 pesewas to 1 cedi, he changed it to 10,000 pesewas to 1 cedi. So if he had such a powerful magic wand, why didn't he make the cedi even stronger than the dolloar?
He then had the childish audacity to tell Ghanaians that the cedi was now the same as the dollar. Is that not a funnier joke than the one Akufo Addow told us last night? Look at how his surrogates have turned democracy and fairplay upside down!
