His best chance was in 2008 when he managed 49.7% in the first round needing just 0.3% to win. Were he winner candidate, it would have been easy for him to win the run-off. But in the run-off, Prof JEA Mills came from far behind to beat him with 46,000 votes.
In 2012, the gap between him and President Mahama was as much as over 200,000 votes. Should he go again for 2016, the gap with which President Mahama will beat him will even be wider.

I NDC under Mahama must be defeated and properly asked to account for their stewardship. Ghana needs a new prison for these rogues and the law must take its course. Ghana can not sacrifice eight of her favorite sons and Generals for allegedly using their Command posts to seek bank loans of Ghc 10,000.00 in 1979. This same party, an offshoot of the very regime that brought them to power will turn around and scheme Ghana and her people must be voted out and probed. The presidency is yours to lose if you so decided not run. We need a united loyal opposition to defeat this cabal of politicians who are condoning with foreign interests to dupe Ghana through various schemes. Where in EU or US does one contract a credit card or revolving credit of $100 (one hundred dollars) that will not end up in collection should the borrower refuse to pay at the agreed terms? We have Ibrahim Mahama who has caused a national bank to collapse and to date, since 2009, had refused to honor his obligation to the creditor, MBG. Not a dime of the $38 million loan contracted from Merchant Bank of Ghana has been paid? Nana Akuffo Addo, you a known quantity in Ghana politics and you must run for the third charm. We need a change and the battles for the Flagstaff House and Osu Castle are in Western and Central regions. Nana you must appoint some one from Western or Central on your ticket and not the North. They will not vote for you and so you must shut your mind off from using Bewarmiah as your running mate. The gentle is too inexperienced to lead Ghana should another Ata Mills episode happen; God forbid. You need some one credible from the opposition to be your vice. I had to take special permission to make this known in such detail. Hitherto, I had not not given much details.
