I really think this is an important call on all to help protect the rights of women and to also support them to access decent and equal opportunities in the country. Again it's important because women generally face discrimination in various ways across the globe.
But as usual some politically drunk and unrefined folks who will not appreciate the import of the message are just here again exposing their bigotry and narrow-mindedness.
And sadly, after making these comments and some not even knowing that the current first lady of Ghana is from the Brong Ahafo region, they try to blame others for labelling them as an "Akyem and Ashanti" party. It's the comments by some NPP sympathizers that is undermining the good efforts by the party hierarchy to remove the tribal tag on the party. I think NPP should admonish it supporters to refrain from making tribal comments on social media because it's gravely projecting the party as a tribal party. Even though it's not true, it makes other tribes feel less respected and sometimes unwilling to associate with the party. And this behaviour must stop. It's unGhanaian.
