Islam is the fastest growing religion in Europe and the reason is that the church has lost the moral battle. Instead of the world conforming to the ways of the church , the church is rather conforming to the ways of the world.

Some greedy lazy pastors have now turned the church into a market place milking the poor to their deaths in the name of Tithes and contributions whiles the pastors and their wives live like Arriabian prince and princess. Some people have been brain wahes to the point where they will give their last to the church.

Some pastors not satisfied with their loot will continue to take members wives, sleep with mother and daughters. If Islam can clear its face of violence millions will flee to it in a second. Because when it comes to enforcing morals they are far ahead of Christians. The entire Christian thing now is about money!

True Christians need to stand up and speak up for the religion which represents Christ instead of playing Ostriches to the moral decadence and greed in the church. If not then all must get ready for Islam.

Wherever there is light there is civilisation and consciousness of Christ. Not in Africa lacking civilisation and consciousness of Christ. Misleading to conclude that African pastors are called by Christ, the Lord of the harvest to preach the gospel to Europe and the world.

Wherever there is darkness there is no civilisation and consciousness of Christ. This is true of Africa.

Europeans of the past in Africa were imperialists and not called by the Lord of the harvest to preach the gospel to Africa and the world. Hence Africa is still in the dark and lacking civilisation brought into the world by Christ Jesus, the Lord of the harvest.

Wherever there is light there is civilisation and wherever there is darkness there is no civilisation.

Let us pray to the Lord of the harvest in the wilderness of Africa to help Africa to discover Christ and his civilisation and light.

Also in Ghana it is more about “Churchianity” rather than Christianity. Ghanaians view going to church as a social event to dance, see and to be seen -- the church in Ghana does not practice Christianity as we know it; otherwise there would not be so much corruption and evil in the country. In any case what Otabil needs to realize is that the Europeans have been there, done it and moved on. The churches that have been opened in the West by African pastors are mainly attended by Africans in those countries and not the citizens.

Please don't leave it to us to define simple but pregnant words like light and civilization, let alone the cause and effect relationship between light and civilization.The onus is on you to define and show the relationship between the two, providing evidence and warrants for your assertions. You see, since you want to use your "Dr." for persuasive appeal, I am going to hold you to a higher standard than I would some other writer.
You claim that the Europeans who proselytized the gospel in Africa were not called by Christ to do so. You provide no support for this, except to make that vacuous claim that they were imperialists. I expect you to provide proof as to why you think they were not called by Christ to propagate the gospel. Again, what is your support for your claim that African pastors have not been called to take gospel of Christ back to those who first brought it to us?
As you can see. Mr. Glah, it is not enough to just write and make unsubstantiated claims. You owe it to us to go beyond what any JSS student could spout: you owe us quality and quantity support for your assertions, seeing that you want us to believe in your "DR!"

I need not define light, darkness and civilization to Christians as you demanded.

The Christian light in the world created our civilization which you can see and feel around the world today.

When Jesus was on our Planet Earth, the rich and powerful people were riding on the donkey to travel around.

There was no locomotives, motorcars, telephone, aeroplanes, mobile phones, printing press, machine tools, electricity and the world wide web, the Internet, etc.

That civilisation came to us as a result of prayer to God through Christ. All that civilisation was invented by Christians or invented in the era of Christ to make life free from hassle and haggle. That is Christian civilisation.

The world wide web, the Internet, was invented by Timothy Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist. He was born in Britain and educated in the Queen's College, Oxford with a degree in physics. He is not rich because he is selfless and public spirited and gave all that invention to charity.

What contribution did Africans make to that Christian civilisation since AD 1 or BC4 when Christ Jesus came into the world, let alone the coming to Africa by European pastors to preach Christianity to Africans.

Most of the religious men and women are corrupt, sleeping with married women, making money and using hypnotic powers to make the congregation eat green grass and dehumanising them. Is that Africa's light? Then let Europe wallow in darkness.

Of course, such a call is for economic more than evangelical reasons. Otabil and co, especially those from Nigeria are making millions from Africans in the Diaspora and that is why they come to Europe, North America and other fertile lands. It's not about saving those countries from sin, as especially most of the congregation are originally from black from Africa and not Caucasians of European origin.

Dark Continent was used to describe Africa not because they were spiritually (Christianity) blind but rather because it was the last place to be explored or colonized. If "dark" was meant for not being a Judeo-Christian Continent, then Americas (North, Central and South) would have been called that way because the Natives or the Indians were not Christians when Christopher Columbus found his way there. It is sad that someone like him will even believe in this nonsense from their white christian counterparts.

Also, to think that Christianity is on the rise in Africa while that of Europe is diminishing is silly. When you have Duncan Williams praying for the Cedi to rise and his followers saying, AMEN, AMEN, I wonder why Otabil is not shedding tears over such stupidity. If you have Oyadepo, a senior pastor buying 4 private jets while his parishioners wallow in abject poverty, I wonder why he can even sit down and think that Christianity is on the rise.

The only reason why these churches have followers is because, Africa is deteriorating and retrogressing. It is as simple as that. The people have no hope because of our selfish and heartless leaders. So they have banked their hopes on the man that sits upstairs. A pregnant woman praying that God will help her deliver safely, instead of going to Korle Bu to be insulted and turned away. A college graduate hoping and praying to God that somehow he will get a scholarship to leave the country to further his studies, instead of coming out and wasting his time at the internet cafe to prey on some white women for some money. These are some of the reasons why people still go to church. So Otabil, the "DARK" continent is even getting "DARKER" because of our leaders and instead of weeping for Africa, you are thinking we have reached.

Compare that to the founding fathers of America or the old evangelists in America and UK. Their prayers were that God will help them to bring "light" to the people. And certainly, they have been enlightened enough to know that a Dollar needed not to be prayed over, nor any pastor could have his way and do whatever they want as the pastors do in Africa. Two years ago, Oyadipo, a minister of God slapped a child in his church and it is still on youtube and nothing happened to him. Had that happened in the U.S or UK or any civilized Nation, he would have been arrested for child abuse but here Otabil is thinking the Church in Africa is on the rise. On the rise to slap children, banging the wives of other followers, camping or having all night prayer meetings during the week, etc. etc..

I have seen Duncan Williams trying hard to sound and dress like TD Jakes on CBN and many Christian networks and sometimes I feel ashamed for him. I have heard Oyadepo, Ayo and many Africans talking about the Mansions they live in and what they have in Africa and sometimes, I pity them and shake my head and wonder why these pastors could talk about these while their parishioners wake up morning thinking of what they will eat. I am disappointed in Dr. Otabil's utterance that Christianity was brought to Africa by Europeans, if that is the case, why is it that all European bible versions begin in Africa, and why is it that Africans are missing from the pages of their own biblical history?

Dr. Otabil, needs to reexamine his historical documentation, because there's no way that he, nor anyone else can prove that Europe introduced Christianity to Africa, unless he ignores the fact that the conference of bishops at Nice' 325 AD. took place, prior to that conference, the foundation of Christianity was Egypt/Africa.

Christianity existed in Africa long before it was introduced to Asia and lastly Europe. Pastor Otabil, like so many other African pastors and bougeois educators, resign themselves to parroting the colonial line, that everything of value that exists in Africa, eg: Religion, education, culture etc. entered Africa from the outside, nothing could be further from the truth.

The period in history to which pastor Otabil is referring, when Europeans came to Africa preaching their version of Christianity, was during the colonial period when capitalist Europe used Christianity, (led by Roman catholics, Anglicans, Mormons etc. as a propaganda tool to inferiorize the minds of Africans, in order to control their thoughts, actions and their mineral wealth.

The church use biblical phrases such as: "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow"....Psalm 51:7.

Subtle forms of racist propaganda sprinkled throughout European bibles, that's deliberately designed to confuse Africans into feeling ashamed of their blackness.

Pastor Otabli is a good man, I enjoy listening to some of his sermons some of which I think are very informative, however, on this particular issue, his facts are somewhat twisted/unclear.

Europe is the beneficiary of African religiosity, not vise versa, sorry pastor Otabil, better luck next time.

Evidence of that is the unchanging behavioral pattern in our society where churches play with the spiritual emotions of trusting people without teaching them simple things like living in peace with your brother and being good and morally upright citizens and parents.Everything now is all about prosperity.How you acquire that prosperity is never questioned or discussed,as long as you pay your dues.
We have more churches than ever in Gh history but corruption,old married men sleeping with university girls and corrupt politicians have become almost like normal practice.Most of these perpetrators are deep in the churches,some even elders or top members.
Until Africans believe in their own and seek the help of the creator of all thing,I'm afraid we will be chasing our tails.
People lost their lives on our continent fighting for us to be left alone by the slavemasters.Until we realize this and move towards redeeming what we can from the blood that was spilt,their angry souls will forever haunt us and REAL prosperity and peace will be an illusion only for a few elite or criminals who steal or take bribes.

In Africa churches today the highest Donor at sunday service is made elder of the church. Its all about money in Africa churches. Otabil himself used his brain not to establish basic or secondary school for the needy as the missionaries did, but rather started a church, collected their monies through what is popularly called "appeal for funds" from charcoal and tomatoes sellers only to use such monies to establish university that only the rich can afford and attend. Yet profit from the running of Central university is not paid back as dividend to these poor donors but as owner profit to DR Otabil alone. Go and check Otabils Will and see who inherits Central University when Otabil dies, his children of course. Tweaaakai... Delivering Europe from darkness.. What a Joke.

The shame of Africans is that we swallow stupid ideas, including Christianity, hook, line and sinker without ever thinking about its relevance to our own life and culture. We are not critical of anything, and swallow crap that is fed us by these Europeans. The younger generation of Europeans find the religion of their forbears abhorrent and have abandoned it. It is Christianity that was used and continues to be used as the tool of our mental and physical enslavement. I won't be rejoicing for Africa being the center of a discredited, bad and degenerate religion. And this goes true for Islam, too.

Most Africans unfortunately are church goers and not doers of the word. Preachers like your kind do not set good examples, you all tell people to do one thing and you do the opposite. When was the last time you preached a sermon in Europe? Even your own central churches in Europe do not invite you anymore because of your arogance. Just concentrate on getting yourself and your congregation to live godly lifes and let God do His work in Europe because trust me there are churches springing up that will overtake your church.

The huge Christian population in Africa especially Ghana and Nigeria have rather contributed in no small measure to the moral decline on the continent. On the other hand the Reformation in Europe was transformational. Christianity is supposed to usher in a transformational way of life that enhances the quality of life. It teaches industry and labor, prudence, wisdom, the pursuit of education and knowledge, the pursuit of happiness and joy, integrity, stewardship, leadership, responsibility, ,thriftiness, and many more. One would have expected that after many years of practicing christianity in Africa the christians would have found the miracle of successful living and produced enough leaders to transform the continent from its backwardness to progress and development. What do we see? Many of the Christians are adulterers, fornicators, four one niners, extortionists, frauds, law breakers, liars, thieves, etc, etc. We have got to know them everyday by their fruits. Let them transform Africa to a heaven on earth and they can proceed to evangelize and christianize Europe. Nations are best served by the best prepared people. Charity begins at home. I had some modicum of respect and reverence for this man. He kept talking till he ran out of inspiring messages and he has goofed big time.

How can Otabil with all his weaknesses and frailties arrogate to himself the position of a judge. Someone has said:"It's easier to dodge an elephant than a microbe. Jesus was taken to Egypt as a baby to escape the wrath of the murderous King Herod.

Simon of Cyrene (in modern day Libya)was a believer who had come to Jerusalem to observe the feast of the passover. He was compelled by the Roman soldiers to carry the cross of Jesus on the way to His crucifixion at Calvary (Luke 23:26 and Mark 15:21). The ostensible reason for picking him out of the crowd was that he looked different from the Jews and Romans - Simon must have stood out as a black African, and the Romans wanted to humiliate him as they did Jesus.

We are told in Acts 2:10 that Simon's sons Rufus and Alexander were members of the church. They are also mentioned in Romans 16:13.

The Ethiopian eunuch, Finance minister of Candace, Queen of Ethiopia, was an early African Christian. Acts 8 tells of his baptism by Philip, and how he returned to Ethiopia thereafter.

It is significant that the Coptic church in Ethiopia and Egypt is one of the oldest surviving Christian denominations.
