The meeting which had in attendance Senate President Adophus Wabara, Imo State Governor Achike Udenwa, his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dr Sam Egwu, Justice Chukwu-difu Oputa, the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof Chike Edozien, prominent businessman, Chief Sunny Odogwu and scores of Igbo intellectuals, was the beginning of a new move to reposition the Igbo in the country, and at the same time reconcile all people of Igbo descent, both at home and in the Diaspora.

Wabara, addressing the meeting, said the final outcome of the novel course would remain a reference material for now and future Igbo concerns.

Wabara called for "a grilled reappraisal of the core Igbo values."

However it will be stupid to start exporting our bad attitude to other countries where as we knew how such behaviour affected development of the nation. If in Ghana people go away with corruption, stealing, looting and even killings, we need to undersdtand that, is some countries they will allow such wickedness to go away without investigation. I used to be one of the ignorant people who would bash Nkrumah at the least opportunity on the basis of worn out propaganda like one-party state, dictator, intolerant of opposition etc. until I read the CIA declassified files and the scales fell from my eyes. These declassified files on the overthrow of Nkrumah have revealed that the British and Americans wanted Nkrumah out because he was moving us too fast towards industrialization much to their dislike since they prefer to have us remain as the natural resource base for their factories and the market for their finished goods. I wonder if Kotoka and Afrifa knew that this was the agenda of these westerners yet they carried out the plot on their behalf? Today, after Nkrumah's overthrow, we have followed the advice of these westerners up to date and the results are there for all of us to see how far we have degenerated since the 1960s. Nkrumah was a benevolent dictator and many countries including Britain under their crown as well as China, have used benevolent dictatorship to develop into first world nations.

Nkrumah was striving hard to build a nation along the same lines that China used to become the strong nation that it is today. In the 1960s right through the 1980s until recently, the same propaganda was used against China : dictatorship, one-party state, lack of democracy, intolerance of opposition etc. The Chinese have stuck to their visionary leaders irrespective of all the negative propaganda used against them. Today, the results are there for all of us to see.

There is no doubt that Nkrumah was a visionary leader who knew where he was taking us to. If only all of us were patient and patriotic enough to follow him, Ghana would have been as prosperous and respectable as any developed country in the world today.
