Having ran away on two occasions to spend Xmas overseas, this joker president sought to cleanse himself of the charge of being unpatriotic to the Ghanaian hospitality and tourist industry, by claiming that he wears made-in Ghana shoes, and the NDC fan-fools fell for it, when in fact this president has been one of the worst managers of our economy. None of his so-called policy positions are carefully thought through, given that they are often presented as casual afterthoughts.....red meat for the fan-fools to chew on, when in fact you look at his performance... since 2009 at the presidency, it has been a below average performance.....giggle, smile and wave and pump up slogans.

One big problem that has consistently bedeviled this country since independence, but has not been much talked about, is the desperation and impatience of those who have strong ambition for power but are out of power.
When we look back into the past, we have sweet words for our past leaders but when they were in action, they were demonized to make it possible for them to lose power. In some of the cases, the military took advantage of the situation and made coups d'état.
For instance, look at the late General Acheampong who had to be executed allegedly for being very very corrupt. Today, we are wise enough to know that the wild allegations against him were just a smokescreen to enable somebody to satisfy his personal ambition to take power. We often talk of Acheampong's dynamic policies with nostalgic memory because that was the real truth about him.
It appears the best way to make it possible for those who are out of power to brighten their chances of winning power is to demonize the one who holds power now and prove to the people that, he is incompetent. This has been our attitude throughout our independent life. This seems to work because, national development is a real difficult exercise that requires sacrifices from everybody. Thus political opponents can always pretend that these sacrifices the nation is being taken through are signs of incompetence their leader. Hence we move in circles from one regime to another without realizing the promises of expected changes.
At least, President Mahama has just concluded one year of his 4 years mandate and no amount of cynicism in him will change anything. He must therefore maintain his focus and forge ahead with his Better Ghana Agenda.

Egyptian GM Maize Study Shows Toxic Effects After Just 91 Days, January 29, 2014
(NATURAL NEWS) - A new study by Egyptian researchers has found that Bt corn is not substantially equal to non-genetically modified parent corn and is actually toxic to rats after barely three months.
Meanwhile, a second study, which examined the effects on rats on a diet containing the GM corn, found that it caused changes in body organ function and weight, as well as blood biochemistry which indicated possible toxicity, according to a summary by GMWatch.org.
The site also reported that a third study, a histopathological examination, was carried out on the rats fed the genetically modified corn. Researchers found clear signs of organ pathology in the group fed GM corn versus a group fed with non-GM maize. This study found obvious signs of pathology, especially in the liver, kidney and small intestine. Also, an examination of the testes revealed tissue necrosis (death) and desquamation (shedding) of the spermatogonial cells, which form the foundation of sperm cells and, as such, male fertility, and only after 91 days of feeding.
In particular, researchers tested Monsanto’s Ajeeb YG (YieldGuard), which was genetically modified to be insect-resistant. According to an abstract of the studies:
“For the last decades there has been a growing interest from the food crop industry to construct and produce genetically modified (GM) crops with the primary goal to significantly increase the yield and avoid the use of pesticides. At present, GM “
ORGAN WEIGHT, FUNCTION, BLOOD SERUM ALL AFFECTED
Scientists note that an important requirement in any toxicological experiment involving GM crops is the ability to assess the effects of “xenobiotics,” which is a chemical found in an organism that is not normally produced or expected to be present in that organism. For many organs, this testing is done through macroscopic examination of the organs – measuring organ weight, as well as conducting a histopathological examination of the tissue.
“Organ weight can be the most sensitive indicator of an effect of an experimental compound, as significant differences in organ weight between treated and untreated (control) animals may occur in the absence of any morphological changes,” said the abstract. “Biochemical analyses are useful in chronic toxicity studies because in-vivo effects of clinical treatments are reported. When certain types of cells are damaged, they may leak enzymes into the blood, where they can be measured as indicators of cell damage.”
Researchers say that clinical pathological evaluation is one method utilized to gauge the efficacy and safety of “novel food sources” when they must be examined to determine whether they are safe ingredients for
human consumption. In this vein, liver and kidney function tests, along with serum blood contents, were utilized to evaluate safety. Serum protein and albumin are also used often to evaluate toxicity and such.
GM CORN CAUSED QUICK DAMAGE
In the first study:
Obviously, the genetic modification of Bt corn showed significant differences from the conventional counterpart, where, the total protein, crude fat, crude fiber & total saccharides showed significant increase in Bt corn as compared to non-Bt corn. Whereas, the starch content showed significant decreased compared to non-Bt. The mineral content were also affected, where
calcium & sodium were significantly decreased in Bt corn, while phosphorous increased dramatically in Bt corn.
Researchers went on to say that all fatty acids were detected using various values in Bt corn, as compared to non-Bt corn, with the exception of palmitoleic acid and octadecenoic acids.
“Thus, it may be concluded that the genetic modification process caused
several alternation in the chemical composition in corn that may be toxic to
the human food and the animals feed.”

We'd rather he demonstrated that effortless brilliance in fix the pit he has plunged the country into. Mr. Malor, it's not oratory that matters to us. It's the wisdom to listen and listen good to good suggestions and criticisms however scathing they might be on the president , to transform the ghanaian situation. He has domestically that by his governance that he lacks competence. No cheap talks, no theatrical shows. We need serious work from president and his team of which you are member. Open your eyes and your mind, Mr.Malor, and please keep "unclogged ears" to see, understand and appreciate, and hear what Ghanaians are saying and experiencing.

The general sentiment is stay away from Ghana till the government gets its act together or wait till a new goverment is elected. It is the complete opposite of what Malor is saying.

Nkrumah is remembered for using his 9 years in power to construct Akosombo, planned Bui, built schools and had two private banking accounts in which some few hundreds of pounds were paid in following publications of his books. Actions speak louder than words.
Ben, use your rich experience to bring about quality in governance. Ghanaians are not fighting for ideas, but for food, shelter, clothing, technology etc. speak less my brother. This country is bordering on a failed state status because nothing is working. NDC came into power with unattainable promises, especailly how they will reduce petroleum prices . What is the price of a liter of gas now?. They have increased gas prices 3 or 4 times. And this is one area of price increase that cut accross the board and affect everything. They have forgotten so soon that had it not been the NDC and especially John Mahama as minister of communications then, Ghana today would not pride itself as one of the best telecommunication developed country in the world. Talk of mobile phone and internet usage today that has flooded every corner of the country and you'll wonder the ones that had the foresight years ago. The answer is simply John Mahama and his able ministry then.
Truly, the guy is a great man who is just begging Ghanaians to close their ears to the trumpeters of propaganda, lies and leaders of making Ghana ungovernable by every means necessary because they lost power and finds that attitude as the only way to come to power at the detriment of the very same people they want to come and govern.
Mahama is so far a honest leader Ghanaians are gifted but they know not.
