I wonder how someone with thousands of cattle be deemed to be poor simply because the follow doesn't spend USD1.25 a day. In the north, you don't need that much to get a decent meal. The food served in the north is better than those junks served at the KFCs in the south and abroad . Only gullible intellectuals will use this data.

Simple things such as quality of life or standard of living, life expectancy or basic education are still too coplex for our leaders. Our priority list as a nation is upside down and everywhere blackman is a laughing stock

It is sad for the poor especially in the African context to be really poorer.African polititians go into the poor populations to seek their votes during electionering campaigns and dump them after securing their mandates.I appealed to African states in my submission on this theme on Ghana web including Ghana to carry their developmental programmes to the deeps of their nation to alliviate them from poverty which stares them in the face.

This is no NEWs. The rich northerners like Mahama and his brothers prefer to buy Bugattis and promote gargantuan projects like the $9bn HOPEless city.

But right now we are all suffering, whether North, South, East and West. In fact the western region is one of the most impoverished but every government looks northwards when talking about poverty. Perhaps it is not the lack of money. Money has been thrown at the northern poverty problem since Adam and northerners are still poor. When Mahama and his people decide to use moneys given to alleviate poverty to invest in exotic projects like AKONFEM farms then who do you blame? My beef is that money that can be used to help the southern poor always gets diverted north.haba !

A word to the wise is in the NORTH ampa.

There are so many potentials in the Northern part of Ghana,yet the people are living in abject poverty.Because even the Northerners themseleves refuse to invest there if they have the means to do it.They rather stay put in Accra or any other big towns in Ghana.
And corruption will not allowe others to go and invest there.
The way to go, is to give incentives to potential investors to open up that part of the Country.

I am sick and tired of this and that reference to the Northerners. If people in other areas can push themselves why are we concentrating on the Northern part of the country alone? Should they be spoon-fed or we should clean their anus for them if the use the bathroom?

This survey is an insult to the entire nation. It seems the other regions are all filthy rich while the Northern part have been left to fend for themselves. The "national cake" should be shared equally because it for the entire nation.

Northern politician should be blamed because they use their people as "human shield" to cover their greed and selfish self.
