The Kuffuor led Maladroit government promised the world of a new Ghana cedi will gain value when pegged with the dollar, what we have now is not what was promised.Nothing was put in place by this illiterate Bawumia and his Kookoase economic gurus to sustain the parity of the cedi with other major currency.

When you do monetization, it means you have deliberately pegged your currency to the major ones with the hope that it's value will cope or improve.

Having this, we expected the BOP to improve through prudent economic policies but Bawumia's Dagati economic policies coupled with that of Koookoase bush meat economics only saw more importation of rice from india when Ghana could have invested in agriculture to produce own rice.And so, Bawumia should not think Ghanaians are illiterate as he is.

At this stage of our economic development, the only way is to borrow but invest the borrowing wisely into productive activities such as what the current government is doing.

That said, Bawumia should stop his Dagati economics as these days even the Kookoase opposition npp MP's are well awake.

For example the Akans especially the Ashantis, the Kwahus and etc and etc work hard either by buying and selling or farming. Some tribes in Ghana excuse me to say part of the Ewe tribes on the other hand do not want progress. Because of the Juju they practice even those people of their tribes who journed to the big cities like Accra, Kumasi or even get the chance to travel overseas to beter their lives, cannot put on the good clothes they brought from the sweat of their labour. I mean to say that you have to wear the Nkokoafum clothes which the people are wearing. If you wear the Kente cloth or the Suit which you bought overseas, they will use the Tukwe juju to kill you. Rawlings used the Ghana Arm to dertroy the Ghanaians and brought tribalism into the Ghanian community. Today in the Ghanaian soceity, it is the Ayigbe all the way. The Akans are afraid of the Ayigbes because of the fear of Rawlings. Even the Ashantis who say that wo kum apem a apem beba are all women today. I bet you by the year 2020, the Ayigbes will be the then Ahantis and the Ashantis the now meek citizens. Wake up Ashantis and Akans in general, claim your Ghana, do away with the Togolese Ewes. In my opinion, the worst of all is the 1966 coup which was initiated by the digruntled Mate Mehu knaves. From thereon the flood gates were opened for Military adventures. I believe Kufuor unknowingly ushered in a New Age of Business in Ghana and that led us the the crisis we are in today.

The corruption level after Ghana transitioned to a democratic country during JJs time as compared to his predecessors was about 15% to no 85%. S le him have his peace. He really did what he had to do and yes the fear he put in Ghanaians worked. Today corruption in Ghana is like a job,from the president to the lower level employers everyone is corrupt and that's why we still in this state. Even pastor are corrupt and fake. Yes I agree there was corruption prior to the coup but did the coups end corruption. Hayford had it right because the atrocities that even the poor and innocent went through were outrageous. Papa Jerry out of ignorance aligned Ghana to the East, Gaddafi and Castro who were all tyrants and were not liked by the West. Note that the East was broke to help Ghana and the West punished Ghana with some undeclared sanctions. It was when he weaned himself of Castro and Gaddafi that things began to improve.

But if over 70% of his achievements was to put fear because he and his suicide squad had guns, beat, killed and imprisoned innocent people, then you are sadly mistaken. Let it be known here today that of all the coups in Ghana, the 1966 coup was highly unjustified in every material particular. It set back the clock of Ghana's rapid development by 100 years and Ghana is still paying that supreme price for welcoming the 1966 coup.

All other coups after 1966 were unjustified. I do not need to revisit the merits or demerits of subsequent coups, but can somebody out there tell me whether those commissioners or ministers in the Gen. Akuffo regime were traders when they hoarded scarce essential commodities in silos in their personal farms? I do not know where Major Osei is now but I can recall vividly that he was the one who went round exhuming sardines, geisha, sugar, milk etc from such underground silos.

The coup against Liman was another unjustified coup and I stand by that.

The one-party state thing cardinal is referring to was something Ghanaians agreed to in a bid to curb all the excesses of the multi-party democracy we started with but which was seriously misunderstood and abused by certain traitors who teamed up with the West to cause mayhem under the guise of doing opposition party politics. In response to these gross abuses which stemmed from massive ignorance and foreign machinations using unpatriotic Ghanaians as their agents, our Parliament and the masses at the time opted for the one-party idea which was very popular at the time as the easiest way of getting consensus for rapid national development.

Cardinal and his ilk should go and read the Hansard of the early and mid-1960s as well as the graphic publications of that period in order to be educated instead of relying on Western sponsored propaganda against Kwame Nkrumah. There is no denying the fact that Nkrumah did not singlehandedly turn Ghana into a one-party state. It was Ghanaians who opted for that political arrangement to build quick and ready consensus to catapult us into first-world status as fast as lightening. The West knew that this was going to work and their worst fear was that it may be replicated in other African countries since Nkrumah's Ghana was the country to watch and copy from throughout Africa. Africa has over 60 percent of the world's natural resources so if Africa freed itself from western exploitation, then the days of glory in the West were surely going to come to an end. Note that China does not have a fraction of Africa's natural resources yet the indusrial rise of China has greatly wrecked havoc on many western economies. Africa's industrial rise is tantamount to economic death for the West. I entreat Cardinal to read the CIA declassified files on the true reasons why the CIA of America and MI 6 of Britain teamed up with local traitors to overthrow Kwame Nkrumah and I bet my bottom cedis that Cardinal will laugh at his own folly after he has read and educated himself on such matters.

Cardinal, can you deny that the head of state in Britain stays on the throne for life and is not elected up to date but the British would never agree to team up with any foreign agency to overthrow their crown? The British crown has been a benevolent dictatorship and that dictatorial crown unified the British to concquer one-third of the world under their feet at a certain point in time. Today, that crown has lost much of the dictatorial powers it once had but the story of that crown tells a tale of the benefits of benevolent dictatorship in galvanising a people to achieve great heights. Secondly, the Chinese are currently taking the world by storm and guess the political arrangement that has galvanised and focused their energies to make this possible? It is a benevolent dictatorship under a one-party state. The list of countries that have used such strategies to advance socially and economically before they opened up their political space is endless. Kwame Nkrumah was one African leader who had a clear understanding of all these issues and he was sure where he wanted Ghana to be by 1970, by 1980, by 1990, by 2000 and beyond. The British and Americans hated him for dreaming such ambitious dreams and acting boldly to realize these dreams and hence they worked day and night to make sure that his dreams were thwarted.

Well, Nkrumah is dead and gone but we are the ultimate losers and instead of weeping over our great loss, we have people like Cardinal who have been fed on so much anti-Nkrumah propaganda to continue to blame Nkrumah ignorantly. Consider this, Cardinal: After Nkrumah's overthrow, has the West ever influenced any of the rest of the coups in Ghana? The answer is an absolute no because none of these government has possed a threat to the western agenda (i.e. the colonial and current neo-colonial agenda) of keeping us as a natural resource base for their factories and a market for their manufactured goods. Therefore, the 1966 coup was not about restoring political freedom for Ghanaians else the West would have equally been interested in uprooting JJ Rawlings when he took away our political rights for over a decade. Note that the West was ok with JJ Rawlings because he did not threaten the neocolonial structure of our economy for all those yeras. In fact, he deepened this neocolonial structure by the time of his exit and Kufour, Mills and lately Mahama have deepened it and continue to deepen it by the day.

It is therefore interesting to read Casely-Hayford's display of gross ignorance or hypocrisy on this subject when he seems to be saying by implication that the 1966 coup was justified but the 1969, 1979 and 1981 coups were the unjustified once. May be this man clamours for our continuous domination by the West since his name and skin colour shows that he is a descendant of one of those slave masters who once walked our shores in the Gold Coast.

The West were least concerned about the political rights of the blacks under Mobutu as long as Mobutu perpetuated the neocolonial agenda of the West in the Congo. They therefore paid a blind eye to Mobutu's greed, extreme corruption and other excesses as long as they too could plunder the vast natural resources of the Congo for their factories back at their home countries in Europe and America.

Nkrumah did something but could have done far better if it were not that he misused our funds on other countries in Africa who no more even recognize Ghanaians when we are in their country. Nkrumah was a dictator who was brutal. Even his own people feared him. Why did he not have a deputy? Why did he fall foul with Gbedemah? At that time, every employer was afraid of the dreaded 1 P.M news when people heard from the air that they were dismissed from office. To survive, just like living under Gaddafi, one has to praise him always and not make contrary suggestion to his. How many people, including some CPP members languished at Nsawam prison under PDA without trial? That is Nkrumah's democracy. He was the president who dismissed a Chief Justice after a ruling was not in his favor and caused the case to be trialed again so that it suited him. Is that not Double Jeopardy? Only Dictators do that. After his overthrow, how many political prisoners had died at Nsawam? Tell me Nkrumah never dies and I will tell you he has died already. Even his party is dead and his ideology did not survive the test of time. Who is a Socialist in Ghana now? All reasonable people who are not hypocrites love their freedom.

The true fact is Rawlings has never ever been successful in any coup in Ghana. 15 May was just a 30 45 minutes military mutiny led by Rawlings who was immediately captured by Major Sulemana and his boy popularly known then as One Man Thousand residing in Sweden.

Rawlings on the 4th June 1979 was then a prisoner in the prison cells of the then Boarder Guard Headquarters. The brave young soldier Cpl. Seakodea Addo who became a member of the military junta AFRC who sacrificed his life along others and fought to release Rawlings from jail is under the command of Major Boakye Djan was pathetically murdered later by the very man Rawlings he risked his life to safe.

The senseless 31st December coup was again never led by Rawlings. The unattended consequences of his coups are too many to enumerate but we should move on. What is external threats? Since when did you hear or learned that Ghana had had a dispute with another nation anywhere in the world? I am saying it is not possible but we do not need that "standing army" that some uses as a lifetime job. They are a big drain on the nation. Just look at their budget. It does not make sense to have that huge military.

Was it the kind of economic activity that enabled his (Sydney's) father to acquire wealth through plundering of the national coffers. When he talked about the Makola market traders he made it look like Rawlings just drove into the market and started whipping them for no reason. I was in Ghana from 1970 during Busia, Acheampong/Akuffo regimes when the economy was in shambles and the makola women took advantage of the populace by hoarding goods to spike up prices.How could Sydney and his cohorts know this, they weren't affected by the difficulties then because they had golden spoons in their mouths.They were in Achimota Primary/Secondary and will holiday in the US or London.
The masses of the people could not take the sufferings visited on them by these governments who ceded our economy on a silver platter to the Makola women. There was therefore loud cries for help and the last straw that broke the camel's back was when the military leaders and ministers introduced 'fa wu tu beji gulf'-bottom power- young girls from the secondary schools and Universities exchanged sex for Gulf car. Does Sydney Know of these? Or he chose to forget it because that was when he together with his cohorts were riding around in Sirocco and Porsche cars at age 15 on the Achimota school campus, doting on the young girls.When you have golden spoon in your mouth, you could do anything then.
Anyway concerning the Makola women, Rawlings gave them one whole month to bring out their hoarded goods and sell them at a controlled price else they would be confiscated but they refused. They thought they could control Rawlings like they did to all the previous governments. Unfortunately they found out the hard way.The punishment dished out to them was warranted and yes both coups were needed and justified.Sydney and all the warped, depraved and corrupt minded individuals who were raised by their parents on stolen government funds do not see their importance because as armed robbers, their parents were stopped in their tracks by Rawlings.They are still seething with anger against Rawlings but for the objective and fair minded of us, J J Rawlings will forever remain our hero. He is a true leader who if Ghana had a few more of, we will be far better. By the way is Sydney willing to repatriate some of the monies his daddy deposited in the Swiss Banks and stop spewing his warped and convoluted prognosis? We are waiting.

When essential commodities become scares and the government fails to order more as replenishment, what is left will be hoarded with anticipation that prices will go up for more profit to be made. That is basic economics or the minds of humans.

If the military embarks on selling peoples commodities as way of "even scores" what is the message the? When there is nothing to sell and the military fails to order more of the scarce commodities what is the end result? People with the money will find other means to bring in those goods but at an exorbitant prices because they are in business for money or profit making.

Let me give you one example. When Iddi Amin took over power in Uganda and expelled all the Indian and Asian business men, he allowed the natives to take over their businesses but did not have the know-how of how they transact their business so, when the good in the stores finished, what happened? The economy tanked.

To counter hoarding, the government should make it obligatory to order more to make any attempt by any unscrupulous individual dream of making profit seems remote else, hoarding will continue. What do we see today? These essentials commodities are everywhere so, who will make any attempt to hoard?

The problem with that Achaempong era was that the import licensing regime distorted "free" markets whereby a privileged few with these import licensing "chits" got to corner whole sectors of the economy and then exacted enormouse profits from their privileged position.

The import licensing system therefore did not allow for open, transparent market competition and this became very clear to the people thus the term Kalabule.

Besides mitigating his own poverty and creating widows and orphans through his killings of hundreds of our compatriots, nothing much can be said of his stupid revolution. He is a monumental failure and his 19 year rule was a wasted 19 years. Worst of all, he unleashed upon our land the looting brigade called the NDC which drives our economy to the ground any time it rules Ghana. After 19 years of autocratic and visionless rule, JJ's NDC left behind a battered economy that required our going HPIC to fix under Kufuor and the NPP. Then the Mills and Mahama NDC took over six years ago and have since been busy running down the economy, as if they aim at matching the disastrous legacy of JJ Rawlings.

Frankly, I have always wondered why we have foolishly named our airport after a useless coup maker who was slaughtered by his junior officers in a failed coup. Arthur and Yeboah were aggrieved by the coup staged by their senior officers Kotoka and Afrifa. Why do we name the airport after a coup maker. In my opinion, the airport should be named after patriots such as Ephraim Amoo. This is the man who gave us our national anthem and other patriotic songs, such as "Yen ara yen asaase ni". Please change the name to the Ephraim Amoo International Airport. It will give true meaning to our airport.

Cuz olack of the existing govt's mis-dids there rampant corruption,shortages of everything ensured followed by a "CHIT system that only those connected to the military NRC could import and therfore had everything in life and were doing brisk business from shortages in the market of basically everything. You buy essenco for secondary sch at makola and after an hour you return to buy one more of the same thing from the same seller and they can double the price for the Ideal milk you had just bought. The makola women will insult you to the core as if you were not human. It was impunity in morals to the extent that a soldier bought cloth for the wife and suffered tge same fate especially cuz this make queen figured he was a lower rank military whereas she was more connected to the officers in the barracks so she will go scot free with he insults. Something needed to change in this country where market women can throw urine from blue band butter can on a uniformed soldier.
There were hundreds of maltreatment by market people throughout the country everyday with even worst stories and the govt at the time did not respond. Artificial shortages were also created leading to Hoarding all these were called the term " kalabule" to the extent that it almost found its way into the oxford dictionary like "kwashiokor" or even "beriberi"
If Ghana is corrupt this the the genesis of our bad nature.
How do you solve the cancerous canker. So the military took the fight to their bosses who were then govt and did their own house cleaning exercise hence the 1979. It was unfortunate lives were lost.
But just ask any medical officer if you have a malignant cancer cell it has to be cut off you will undergo chemotherapy, medications, life style change even healthy veggie diet and yoga to recover from pancreatic cancer. Serious a third of your belly will be cut off or lost.
This is exactly what happened in 1979.
So the lies of this Casely guy should rest once and for all.

Brought down by Imoro Igala his uncle. They had borrowed money frm Italians it could be speculated from the "mafia". So after winning they decided to share the spoils on a flight to thank their pay masters in Italy. Inthe process which is still a mystery the Good man Imoro Igala who had to sacrifice his own affable nephew resisting a rot of another spat of corruption was killed on the flight to Italy for not agreeing to a remission in the Ghanaian cancer of corruption migrating from soldier to civilian govt.
Unfortnately, Limann was clueless about the criminals who had just killed his uncle and were all over the place and in his govt.
RAWLINGS was bribed to leave the country on course to the UK but he refused and was on the lookout for Ghanaians like the watchman when all his coleagues had left the country.
The civilian govt thought oh what can Rawlings alone do. So they continued in the mismangement suddenly there was suffering inflation even the givt of the PNP could not prepare a simple realistic budget and time was running out.
Virtually incompetent hence anotherr coup. So Ghanaians I would prefer there are no coups but who introduced coups into Ghana or Africa anyway. The same outsider.
People should write books on the truth so tthat no one after many years will not come and lie.
I blame Rawlings he should contract a writer and publish a book about his side of the story otherwise the children of these same criminal will come andlie on radio after 33 years thinking no one will remember or know.

No firing squad under democracy, that is the song and tune the politicians are dancing to when in office. They can steal government's money and no one will hold them accountaqble because of democracy. It has been 22 years since the last coup in Ghana and what can we boast of constitutional government - absolutely nothing but "Yenche ndi"

We are all watching and waiting for the next bloodiest coup ever in Ghana to overwhelm us. Somewhere, somehow, someone or somebody is waiting to exhale and a lot of people cannot wait to pat this somebody on the back or shoulders for the necessary uprising waiting to happen.

As a matter of fact, I would not mind even it becomes Rawlings again - we need that awakening. Please, Mr. somebody - strike sooner than later.
