Net importer countries like Ghana are bound to face a depreciation of their currencies not to mention the creation of jobs outside their economies with the exportation of their raw materials and the creation of unemployment in their economies.

Manufacturing creates jobs due to the inherent multiplier effect, adds value to indigenous raw materials and strengthens the local currency in the process!

As one of your beleaguered ardent supporters, Dr. Bissiw, I entreat you to revisit the Guinea Fowls (Nkonfem) project to reassess its feasibility, and, possibly, help retrieve for Ghana the Millions of Dollars invested in it, even if we can't find any profits coming out of it. If you cannot call back those Fowls your opponents claim flew away to Burkina, at least, you could use your Veterinary expertise to care better for the few Birds left to make them love Ghana more to stay.

Buoy! You got yourself a hell of a job to do! Where are you going to find enough Barley or Millet to entice those Fowls back, or those left , to stay put? The Burkinabe have surpassed us in many things now, including feeding their Fowls better meals--Millets and stuff, not the stale, fungicide-ridden, tasteless Century old surplus low grade Yellow Corn from the USA.

So, can you beat that? I mean can you tweak the DNAs of our few Nkomfem left to appreciate that inferior Yellow Corn? You know our Local Farmers in the North can hardly find resources to boost production of local Grains, and cannot cope with more pressure on their scanty supply of Grains. They need our little local production to help sustain our increasing appetite for Tuo Zaafi. It is unfortunate that as our love for such Northern delicacies is growing, the President's brother, li'l Mahama, might have abandoned the meals of his roots to adopt the Pizzas and Cheese Burgers of the West, now that he would be traversing the Globe every so often in his spunky, brand new Jet, the first to be owned by any Ghanaian. He could have helped a bit to keep the Nkomfem on the Farms with a bit more investment of his own to boost the project. Maybe, he does not cross your path often. But just in case you meet him anywhere, would you do me a little favor of asking li'l ''President" brother why he even chose that big toy, in the first place. He may disclose to you some valuable secret that we all poor folks could be inspired by when you share it with us.

No. We do not want his money. We will be just fine with only a clue as to how to dream big, demand for big, and spend big as he did without our feet touching the ground, our ankles cracking up in blood from too much walking to our distant farms, our palms too callous-layered we can hardly wash our faces with, our eyes perpetually red with the dust of the dry soil we raise our mounds from, etc.; you know what I am talking about, pretty Doc.

Down South, the Odums and Kokroduas are all gone. We have no more trees to shelter the soil anymore, or protect our Drinking Water sources. We have no viable program to forestall the illegal Chainsaw milling of the trees, and we have resorted to using the inferior Wood, like from Mangoes, to build our modern houses only to see the rafters fall on our heads shortly later. The Wood gets all eaten up by termites.

Now, Wofa Ma'ama wants us to import better Wood from Cameroon and other Nations. "Awurade Nyame, ei! Na ebaa ne sen?' Where are we going to find the money to pay for that? Imagine having to spend half our proceeds from the steadily diminishing Cocoa Plantations to pay for imported Odum for the roof of our little hut in the Farm Cottage!

'Obaa Sima' Bissiw, do you see the trouble most us are in now? No more 'Kookoase Bayere' (Yam) can be raised to send you in the City anymore. Come to think of it, Li'l Mahama could fly his new toy to Burkina or Mali or Northern Nigeria to buy Wofa Ma'ama all the "Pona" or "Dogobre" or "Teylor"(pronounced Taylor) Yams, they need, if they still remember how to eat those delicious Yams. These local Yams are in short supply, you know. But how about the rest of us? When was the last time you ate "Aso Bayere"? The list goes on...

With your Academic and professional background I expect more from you, even if you are the only force within our current Economic setup that can demand and obtain the answers we are seeking on that Nkonfem Project.

Let us therefore see you deliver to attest to your competence. Show us how strong a professional Ghanaian woman can perform in politics among the rugged, unfocused greedy men. At least, prove to us that your motherly attributes, whether you have child yet, or not, are alive and vibrant and you have the intellectual understanding to be accountable to us all, Children of our ailing Ghana.

Well, I have talked too much, now. But, please, don't blame me because I keep hearing the moaning and groaning of the starving kids and the sick with no Medication. And I felt obligated to call upon your maternal sentiments to urge you on to perform above the crowd to save us all.

"Nkomfem no o!" Don't forget. Hmmm! A word to the wise is in the North ... That is how one of my boyhood friends used to say. Maybe, he was right. Go find out and bring the Guinea Fowls home. Keep your beauty splashing all over. But watch out not utter a word about your first Million Dollars in Government, or you will be coming back home to Te'entia (Contraction for Techimantia that only folks familiar with the town love calling it).
