When Nana Kwamina Ansah and his elders were warmly accepting them as friends, and giving them land to build their home (castle) for co-existence, their White friends were thinking of how they could use their new home (castle), as an opportunity, to enslave their free-hearted host, colonize their land, and take every precious property on the land free to enrich themselves.

Europeans have been very good in analysing Africans. They divide us and outwit us at any moment we deal with them.

Since Hannah Tetteh and Mahama and their Ghanaian deligation have no pre-fomulated position but would blindly follow ECOWAS, then Europeans will stage some contention between the Francophone and Anglophone ECOWAS as a strategy to divide and conqure them.

Ghana should simply reject any Economic Partnership Agreement[EPA] trade pact/agreement with the European Union[EU]. This trade pact is not good for Ghana. Basically, the agreement will would give duty free and quota free access to the EU market in return to liberalisation of our market to EU imports. Given Ghana's current poor level of economic development, this is like substituting Ghana's focus/priority on industrialisation and improving our agriculture sector with imports.

Another hidden danger in the EPA trade pact is that the agreements are aimed at harming our regional integration as it encourages trade with the EU but not among ECOWAS countries. Ghana should not sign on the dotted line.

Nonsense! First of all, why is she basing her decision solely on Ghana's responsibility to Ecowas? Shouldn't she be diligently examining the contents of the agreement to ascertain whether it is in the best interest of Ghana first, then Ecowas before agreeing to it? What kind of warped thought process is she employing here? She is speaking as if somebody is twisting her arm to sign the agreement. And if thats the case then shes clearly demonstrated that shes not up to the task and should be removed with immediate effect! Her only job should be trying to ascertain if this agreement is in the best interest of the Ghanaian people. And clearly thats not her number one priority. Shes more concerned about pacifying other member states than doing her due diligence. If this isnt neglect of duty then i dont know what is. If anybody wants a classic example of the psychological deficiency known as GROUPTHINK, they shouldnt look farther than this inept minister's actions.

Where do they get these idiots from? A whole Secretary of State who cant make simple strategic decisions. What a buncha idiots!

It's amazing how some people, instead of trying to understand what a change connotes, rather allow their ignorance to lead them to oppose the change. The other day, someone declared that, if the president signed the EPA, he should be overthrown. How ridiculous!
The main thing about the EPA in question is the removal of trade barriers between the signatories: Europe and African countries. This means equally, an opportunity to export more African commodities to Europe as much as import more European commodities to African countries. If you want to be negative however, you can argue that this will open the door for Europe to dump its products on Africa.
We in Ghana know that, even in the absence of EPA, we already import so much from Europe. Thus the EPA, like AGOA with the US, will rather make it easy for us to export to Europe. It has often been said that, what Africa needs is not aid but trading with its development partners. This is the opportunity the EPA seeks to bring.

Ghana will support the ECOWAS position simply because Ghana under the Mahama led government has lost her birth right to the regional association and has non of the former proactively brilliant and progressive elements with nationalist brains at the helm of political affairs to discuss deep into issues affecting the country to take the right decision in favor of our dear country, Ghana.

Hanna Tetteh's embarrassing statement here means that whatever decision ECOWAS will take, either negative, blindly or forfeiting our social economy rights, market control and political rights to the imperialist neo-colonialists, Ghana will just stupidly Concorde and follow the already politically influenced ECOWAS without any strategic assessment of the situation at hand to evaluate the consequentials as if we are 24 million nation of mumu bigotries, eh?

How are we going to explain this to to the next generation if at the end of the day Ghana find herself an economic and political captive? Are we going to explain to our future children that Ghana consented into the traps of the infamous EPAs simply because ECOWAS said so?

What Hanna Tetteh has said, "...we can't have a single country position", is nonsense and a sheer capitulation of sovereignty. In every group there is a room for decent. Britain opted out of the 'single European currency' yet, it has not lost its membership of the union - indeed, it has benefitted from being out of the union currency agreement. Hanna, also, says; "it's not a question of what is Ghana's stance because this is an ECOWAS decision. Either we all agree or we don't agree." Nonsense! This being so, why is it stated then that "EPAs are legally binding bilateral contracts between the European Union (EU) and INDIVIDUAL AFRICAN COUNTRIES", and not African countries en-bloc - in that situation it would be understandable not to decent - but, this is not the case about EPA contract; it affects only INDIVIDUAL COUNTRIES in Africa and not all as a whole, at the same time. This presupposes that there can be a decent and, there is because ECOWAS consists of only few countries among many in Africa.
