I've lived in the UK over 30 years and my job as an architect has taken me to several countries around the globe, at times spending a year or more. The so-called West, bashing immigration as major cause of their economic woes and whining about decrease in their own indigenous population because selfishly they do not want to reproduce many children have done us (the immigrants) a big favour to equate or surpass their population numbers via introduction of GAY/LESBIAN agenda. What this means is that we the immigrants be it religion, more esp Muslims and people from SE Asia will continue to reject these ideas and continue to reproduce in numbers that will finally balance the population equation. I do therefore recommend Mr OCQUAYE for remind us to reject the GAY/LESBIAN infiltration in order to uphold our traditional way of family life.

Mexico, by brute military force cannot fight the USA but as Obama endorses and tolerate Gayism and lesbianism, the Mexicans are increasing in population. Yes homosexuality is a threat to God's ordained family system, and no African country should allow themselves to be bullied to accept this practice as though it's natural. It is Satanic attack on humanity, and it should be seen as such. Will the West also fight with the same intensity to allow and promote polygamy in their countries? It is also against the human rights of those whose tradition allows polygamy to be criminalized in Western countries if they practice their culture in those Western countries they find themselves.
This is not to say that people should attack and brutalize those who see themselves as homosexuals, but no special rights should be given to anybody just based on someone's behaviour. There are too many permutations in life from the natural order, and you can't create special rights to accomodate everyone. Take a hermophrodite for example. If a person with both sexual organs fight for their rights to marry both a man and a woman concurrently because of their special condition, where will the world be?

Like Sarpong said quite rightly, what are the tenets of the so called African family system and what values do they represent? I think he is too busy fighting a lost cause. And who said even if gays were given extensive freedoms, the wider population will emulate? What an insult!

This country Ghana has thankfully survived on the astounding achievements of Nkrumahs govt till now. The CPP tradition is the CPP tradition. No other group of imposters and pretenders can lay claim to being part of the CPP tradition. The CPP is a de facto Nkrumaist organization and does not share ideological affiliations or allegiances with any other clowns or jokers who make ludicrous and laughable claims to being neo-liberals and social democrats.

Later govts from Kotoka/Afrifa, Busia, Kufour, Rawlings, Mills and now Mahama have only managed to barely stay in power as long as they did by cheaply selling the assets that Nkrumah created for Ghana to our oppressors and their personal cronies. Let me remind you that had Nkrumah not provided the massive infrastructure which he did and which sustains us till today, Ghana would have been like the Sudan or the Congo or any other failed state in the world.

I do not know what you understand by the word development, but I would be happy to know from you one single significant thing that the UP/NPP tradition has achieved for Ghana other than looting the coffers of state on the occasions that they have been in power.

But there are also people who have exercised their legitimate right to move from one Party to another. If Nduom, for example, has moved from the CPP to form the PPP, does that still make him a CPP member? By your warped thinking, we should also still consider that ex-President Kufuor who worked for the PNDC, is still a member of the PNDC.

The fact that some equally warped opportunistic characters in the NDC, still promote Nkrumaist ideals does not make them CPP members.

In places like Uganda, where semi-educated "Christian Intellectuals" have been on a homophobic rampage, societies like the Buganda accommodated openly gay people to the point of having gay Kabakas (Kings).

It is with the arrival of Islamic and Christian doctrine that we see homophobic outburst in our African societies.

The homophobic laws on the statute books that people like Mike Ocquaye like to refer to were drafted and passed under the very Western Colonial powers he now rants against. Similarly with the religious beliefs and sensibilities he champions as being "African" also came with the Western Colonial powers he rants against.

Change is inevitable. 100 years ago, the impact of Christianity on the African continent was not as immense at it is today. We even now have home grown faiths with no European or foreign origins. The practice of homosexuality, like African and Islamic polygamy, is here to stay. Get used to it. African traditional religion knew no discrimination. The whiteman brought Christianity and, along with it, discrimination. This same very indoctrination is what has planted the seed of hate and intolerance against those who are different from us. The chickens have come home to roost. Now the indoctrinated Africans have turned against the practices of those western countries who indoctrinated them in the first place.
But like the African before foreign religions came, we will be indoctrinated all over again to accept homosexuality. It is a matter of time so make it easier on yourselves; accept that your masters have changed and embrace homosexuality. No matter what we Christians say and despite the fight put up by Christian Concern against it, it still happened before our naked eyes.
I don't want these people to seek to have what we the straight have i.e children because they don't deserve one. If they do, they will do the right thing to get them i.e through proper procreation.
The argument about adoption and sperm donation is baseless here because they are two different things. If straight couples has tried all methods to have their own children but with no success, they can be helped through one of these methods but not gays and lesbians. A gay man deposits his sperm in the anus of another man who has no ovaries and womb and a lesbian uses dildo, fingers or artificial penis that cannot produce sperm.
It is ridiculous and it is becoming a joke of mother nature's natural law. We are back to Sodom and Gomorrah, please God help us now and quick.

And isnt it weird, that God would end us by letting people express their love to one another behind close does but God does not intervene when he says how our leaders screw the entire popluation by sqandering our resources, or how we have cast away our humanity when we sent women and children in exile because of silly claims of witchcraft.

Not to forget how many children that are forced into slave labour or forced to sell pure water along our roads. Or how many children we let die everyday by cureable diseases.

Not to forget that God did let slave trade continue for hundred of years, and the people involved got rich (the countries today flourich, and the Ghanaians chiefs are still rich). God did not intervene at any moment.

But God cares about gays, so if we let people have sex behind close doors, God will punish us for that....right?

PS: Jesus never talks about homosexuality, but he does talk about money (you cant worship money and God at the same time), about praying (do it alone), and dont get divorced.

According to Martin Luther King :"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. "
First we're Africans but we're also a predominant, religious society. As christians it is worth knowing that a knowledge of the language of the Bible and the manners and customs of its people will greatly enhance our understanding and help us to apply its saving principles and doctrines to our own lives.
The african mind could aptly be described as somewhat confused some of the time. We've embraced alien religious cultures and a system of government but we're failing to invest the time and resources to understand and use them to enhance our own way of life.
Jesus and his apostles were Oriental and they spoke Aramaic, an Oriental language. Not only should we know something about the language of the Bible but we should also know something about the manners and customs of its peoples if we're to understand it properly and make adjustments for a better and new way of life.
We've also failed in our attempt to adopt the western democracy system.
During Jesus time, Judaism was and still remains the religion of the Jewish people today. Many of the Jews, like Africans, were conservatives, non-conformists with their religious customs and belief system. They considered Jesus a heretic and rejected him for teaching a higher form of the Mosaic law. He was also criticized for associating and dining with the marginalised and society's outcasts. The principles were the same though as the principal law giver he had the authority to raise their understanding to a higher level. He recognized the worth of each soul as great and precious in the sight of God and that each soul was worth saving.
From Jesus standpoint, every marginalized and every one of society's outcasts are our brothers and sisters and we should love them as ourselves, love instead hate, save instead of hurt, harm, shame,maim, kill, ridicule, reject, taunt, jail, etc.
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught :"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you, and persecute you. "(Matt 5:44). In the next 4 verses Jesus teaches why it's necessary to love everyone. Surely, we can change foes to friends. It's for our mutual benefit. Shouldn't we be more engaged in changing our opinions to agree with God's? The person that we believe is the most difficult to love is the one that deserves the greatest amount of our love.
To the marginalized and hated LGBT society, I say, "The test of courage comes when we're in the minority, " and to the hating Christian and traditional majority, "The test of tolerance, comes when we are in the majority. "(Ralph W.Stockman).
