When the money is used wisely it bears fruit over and beyond the amount borrowed. However when the money is used foolishly then we have a serious problem. If the government uses the borrowed funds wisely then we will be fine, however if it is uses it foolishly then we will be paying for generations.

No matter what they do victory shall be ours for God has most certainly made them blind so they lack any wisdom and see no solutions . These pagan ungodly souls have lied and stolen from us on a daily basis but their days are surely numbered . They plan and scheme to steal our oil and any wealth we are able to create. they work to systematically destroy even the basic family unit by try to thrush down our throats perverse gay homosexual values as being the ideal .They do not see the beauty of the unity in diversity of the various tribes of Akan rather they encourage and facilitate conflict amongst ourselves but it will not work as our people are now more sophisticated than that as no one is blind to their divide and rule tactics except the few idiots who think they build a political career in the oligarchy which has now crossed over into all parties . Frankly speaking there is fact in what the Professor is saying, even if you do not agree, you can bring your points out from the angle of economics in order to convince some of us to follow your visionary mind, which could have been the best way than to call the professor a ''naughty professor''.

Ghana is fed up with this kind of demonic approach of abusing people without knowing who they are to the solving of our economic problems.

The concerns of the citizenry is genuine;that government loans do not benefit the country in the long term because they are not used for infrastructural development. Even the UK has stoppped borrowing towards infrastrucutre development, as far back as 1992,but there are projects worth billions a year taking place through private-public partnerships(PPP). With PPP, the government is debt and risk free. Private sector provides financing for infrastructure development-not government. NDC government is using PPP to loot and share monies borrowed in the name of the country.

Yes it is true loan are meant for infrastructural development but the question is "where are the development projects"? We only know of GEEDA, SUBA etc., which is headquartered in "JUBILEE" house.

"All things being equal". All things have never been equal. Therefore, when discussing economic issues common sense must prevail. What did I say; commonse sense. It should be not called common sense because not every body has it.
John Gatsi is saying that rising debt stock should not necessarily alarm Ghanaians only if it provides income generating infrastructure for the country. Do you really foresee any income generations in the medium and long term? The answer is no. That is why Ghanaians should be alarmed.

Basically if you want to invets in capital items including infrastructure your options are to use your your reserves, save for it , beg for foreign support or take out a loan. To save up will take years whsre as the roads, energy etc are needed now to support development. What we should be rightly concerned about is whether we can afford payments for the loan, whether it is used for its purpose,what pressure it will add to public funds.It is governemnet's job to imform us all the time about this but they are not doing it effectively . This is why we get all the mischief and misinformation.

It really doesn't make any logical sense to keep borrowing heavily when very little is shown to justify the hefty loans.
