Don't misinform and also insult needlessly. Ebola is not the result of bad hygiene. It is caused by a virus acquired from eating bush-meat. Bats appear to be the primary source, and when wild animals eat left-over nuts etc dropped from or left behind by bats, the wild animals get the virus. When humans eat the wild animals (bush-meat) or bats, those humans get ebola. And those humans also transmit to other humans by direct contact through body fluids.

i dont see the Europeans offering the other benefits such as the freedom of movement and insisting on visa free entry into their countries. they are not offering half a trillion for infrastructural development and real assistance in bettering the standard of the people of west Africa . this is a war that will destroy any chances of self reliance and self development . see what they have done to our poultry , fish and beef industry . until we have people who understand the issues and the true hidden agendas and dangers of such a one sided agreement where the benefits are only for the Europeans we should not engage in any such devastating experiments . EPA is being pushed now because they are aware pepeni is an illigimate president , even now the video of the murder of atta mills is being circulted in private circles and one day soon he will be overthrown so he is rushing to put another yoke and burden on the people of Akan. this govt can only borrow and can not even secure investments of 30 billion dollars how do they expect to handle a multitrillion agreement which in reality denies your own people the right to develop their own industry. our industrial base is less than 3% by the way. lets not allow this foolishness to pass , its time for a revolution so we restart the future for our children. we shall never surrender

That is Ghana for you, a country that has so much mineral resources and yet wallows in perpetual poverty and lack. If this isn't stupidity and an animalistic behaviour, then what is?

This is likely to cause hysteria; mostly because of misinformation.
There is no doubt that Ebola is a serious disease caused by the Ebola virus, which is named for the Ebola Riverin Zaire.
The virus is filovirus, a type of virus that causes hemorrhagic fever. The Ebola virus causes high fever, rash, and bleeding throughout the body.
People who are unfortunate to catch the disease often die very quickly. Scientists are not certain about its origin and the mode of transmission to humans.
The Ebola virus is spread from person to person through contact with infected blood and body fluids. Doctors also believe that it can pass through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
I think right now Ghanaians should know the symptoms of Ebola.
About 5 to 10 days after one gets infected, that person gets headache, and body aches, this is frequently accompanied by nausea, diarrhea, cough, vomiting, chest pain, shaking, rash, swollen lymph glands, and sensitivity to light.
In about three weeks of infection, the bleeding becomes severe, and the patient will probably not survive.
There is no vaccine or known medicine to prevent or cure Ebola virus infection. Blood transsfusions occasionally do help some patients to recover.
Isolating people with Ebola fever from other people and wearing masks, gloves, and protective clothing in the hospital can prevent the chance of an outbreak.
We should take precautionary actions like avoiding the consumption of bushmeat, frequent washing of hands, avoid congestion at our hospitals and clinics, maintaining sanitary public toilets, and using handkerchiefs to sneeze in.
And avoid taking unnecessary measures such as closing all our borders or suspecting others as the group most likely to be the carriers of the disease.

Ebola virus disease
Fact sheet N°103
Updated March 2014
Key facts
The Ebola virus causes Ebola virus disease (EVD; formerly known as
Ebola haemorrhagic fever) in humans. EVD outbreaks have a case fatality rate of up to 90%.
EVD outbreaks occur primarily in remote villages in Central and West Africa, near tropical rainforests.
The virus is transmitted to people from wild animals and spreads in
the human population through human-to-human transmission.
Fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family are considered to be the natural
host of the Ebola virus. No specific treatment or vaccine is available for use in people or
animals.
The Ebola virus causes Ebola virus disease (EVD) in humans, with a
case fatality rate of up to 90%.
Ebola first appeared in 1976 in 2 simultaneous outbreaks, in Nzara,
Sudan, and in Yambuku, Democratic Republic of Congo. The latter was
in a village situated near the Ebola River, from which the disease takes
its name.
BDBV, EBOV, and SUDV have been associated with large EVD
outbreaks in Africa, whereas RESTV and TAFV have not. The RESTV
species, found in Philippines and the People’s Republic of China, can
infect humans, but no illness or death in humans from this species has
been reported to date.
Transmission
Ebola is introduced into the human population through close contact with
the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals. In
Africa, infection has been documented through the handling of infected
chimpanzees, gorillas, fruit bats, monkeys, forest antelope and
porcupines found ill or dead or in the rainforest.
Ebola then spreads in the community through human-to-human
transmission, with infection resulting from direct contact (through broken
skin or mucous membranes) with the blood, secretions, organs or other
bodily fluids of infected people, and indirect contact with environments
contaminated with such fluids. Burial ceremonies in which mourners
have direct contact with the body of the deceased person can also play
a role in the transmission of Ebola. Men who have recovered from the
disease can still transmit the virus through their semen for up to 7 weeks
after recovery from illness.
Health-care workers have frequently been infected while treating patients
with suspected or confirmed EVD. This has occurred through close contact. However, the only available evidence available comes from healthy adult
males. It would be premature to extrapolate the health effects of the virus
to all population groups, such as immuno-compromised persons,
persons with underlying medical conditions, pregnant women and
children. More studies of RESTV are needed before definitive
conclusions can be drawn about the pathogenicity and virulence of this
virus in humans.
Signs and symptoms
EVD is a severe acute viral illness often characterized by the sudden
onset of fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore
throat. This is followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, impaired kidney and
liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding.
Laboratory findings include low white blood cell and platelet counts and
elevated liver enzymes.
People are infectious as long as their blood and secretions contain the
virus. Ebola virus was isolated from semen 61 days after onset of illness
in a man who was infected in a laboratory.
The incubation period, that is, the time interval from infection with the
virus to onset of symptoms, is 2 to 21 days.
