  You see, there is a vast difference between education and training. Whilst education is too broad and inefficient in solving a specific problem training is very efficient in solving a specific problem. The problem in Ghana is that we often confuse education with training. The two are not the same. Currently 99% of our tertiary graduates are educated but not trained . That is why a lot of them become useless without being employed by some one else. So if the technical universities are going to be designed to offer skills training then it is a good idea. My only fear is that the same old academic heads are going to do the general education stuff.

  I hope the so called technical committee set up to implement the technical education thing will not be full of the usual useless academicians who are mostly products of general education. Technical education is a specialized area and requires specialized expertise to plan and implement it.

  Who is the minister for education for a vice president to be doing his job. Education has a voice thru their minister, if the supposed vice president thinks the minister for education cant do his work, he should sack him.
