That would break the non-Akan front and secure a win for them. Anything else may be an up hill battle for NPP. NPP are their own enemies. In politics it is about strategy and not the foolishness about it is his/her turn.

All they need to do is continue speaking the truth and defending the interests of the Akan people and they will remain bigger and better than any fake pepeni president sitting in the flagstaff house . let the fight for justice continue , forward ever backward never the propaganda smears , lies from the engine room of the ndc will never take root as he who feels it knows the truth . we must prepare our people well to overthrow this corrupt ,racist tribalistic anti Akan oligarchy in a revolution of blood . In the NDC the only way to build one's career is the secretly promote hatred of the Akans and facilitate the division among the various tribes of the Akan exploiting on the differences and undermining the natural desire for development and progress.This phenomenon we see with some of the Gas like the mp namoale openly showing his hate here in the hope that he will get a ministerial appointment so he can continue in his extremely corrupt ways like before . the election engineer mathematics goes like this , the Akans are highly democratic in culture and as such will always exist a difference in opinion and divisions so to exploit that they take court idiots and clowns like yaw boateng gyan and gen mosquito and give them empty posts with no real power to chip off on the unity . then use the ahwois with hannah tetteh none who are even Fantis to facilitate divisions among the fantis and mislead the western and central regions. they then work on creating a political atmosphere and climate which says that ewes and northerners must be dominant everywhere as only they have the right to rule over the Akans and can be trusted not to betray the anti Akan agenda . A house divided can never stand this the root cause why NDC can never pool together the potential of the nation to effect sustainable development as without unity there can only be corruption and retrogression . in their so called winning strategy are the elements of their continuous failure as there is no true justice for the people , ultimately and paradoxically they dont see its their own people that will suffer the most and eventually disappear for the face of this planet as if they never were . Long live the republic of Akan

If NPP was to be a national Party as you claim, they would have given Aliu Mahama the nod as a sole presidential candidate after Kuffour. He was vice-president for eight years as an apprentice under Kuffour. Instead, he was challenged by sixteen Akan men for his chance to become the president of Ghana. Don't fool yourself because it is a well-known fact that NPP will never allow a Northerner to lead the party. Look at what they did to Nkruma, Limann, Rawlings, Mills and now Mahama? Reccently, despite massive support and grooming from some world leaders and international mentors for the World Trade post, he was unable to win the position. He failed rather miserably. He has not got the qualities and the political tuning to lead a nation. Even as a flag-bearer for a political party, I am really in doubt if he can make it. Politics, in reality is not about spraying money and who sprays it better. Competence, integrity, humility, leadership, trust, reliability, diligence and good citizenship are some of the vital characters in the equation for leadership. I hope that Alan will not de-camp NPP this time should he lose the contest.

Now, hes probably thinking, if anybody is going to vote for a pro-Akuffo Addo candidate then that person is more likely than not already decided. However, there are those who feel the party needs different leadership but do not think there's anybody strong enough to unseat Nana Akuffo Addo as the frontrunner so with this declaration, these undecideds now have the ammunition to vote their conscience. Interesting move at a very very important time. This is a game changer move, right there. Akuffo Addo has a big problem come next year.

That is the unity we are all talking about, to pursue the goal of winning the ultimate, not for the sake of power, but to address the serious fundamental intractable socio-economic issues, militating against the advancement of the average Ghana in the midst of plenty and abundance. The real meaning of development in freedom, with the utmost belief in the ability of the Ghanaian to bring about the changes in their collective destiny on their terms, abounding in confidence and bursting at the seams with a can do spirit and attitude, needs to be brought to fruition in 2016. The great Kukrudu family need not fail the citizenry, because Ghana deserves the best. More of the NDC leaders will die in jail like Victor Serlomey.Never in the history of Ghana are we so divided as a people.   This is really pathetic if POWER is all the NPP needs, and if that is Mr. Kyerematen foresight before he gets to the Flagstaff House, I'm afraid to say he has already failed.
  
  Power belongs to the People of Ghana and not any political party. Look at the NDC, what has power bring them, nothing but shame and disgrace. You are already a failure, if power is what you aspire for. Learn from the failures, don't follow them.
