  Another senseless waste of money. Put ECOWAS logo on guns to control movement? Was it the lack of logos that Ghanaians policemen and soldiers lease their AK 47s to armed robbers? Where is the Logic here. And why not put a coconut tree on Ghanaian guns as a logo? If you have to register a gun, do so with unique identification numbers - just like a Driver's License number.

  Is it me or this article is either grossly inconclusive or there are some serious flaws in the executive secretary's reasons for why this is necessary. I'm not an authority on this but common sense tells me that this will create unnecessary and problematic ambiguity in tracking arms in the region. Unless of course, the ECOWAS logo will be in addition to national logos. Otherwise, this promises to be a huuuge loophole in waiting. The press needs to press for more information and clarity.

  Isn't this crazy?
  I have always been mentioning of lack in GUN-CONTROL RULES,on this particular website,for the past three years,but no one cared about it.
  I WAS NOT SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT IT WAS LAST REVIEWED IN 1972.
  Over 300,000 guns in circulation,in a lawless and crooked nation,like Ghana has recently been,there was no adequate gun-control rule.
  HOW MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE HAVE FALLEN VICTIMS TO THE CARELESSNESS,ON THE PART OF THE GOVERNMENT SECURITY FORCES?
  GBEVLO KNOWS NOTHING MORE THAN JUST DEMOLITION OF ROAD TOLL STATIONS.

  Its important in the community fight to stop proliferation of arms in the sub region because it will know all the guns in West Africa and fashion out policies to tackle the illegal ones and its cross border spread
