  The Ghana Chamber of Mines, Minerals Commission and the Government of Ghana owe the citizens of Ghana and the mining towns in particular an unqualified explanation why the land of gold, diamond, bauxite, manganese and now oil also doubles as the land of poverty. It's unconscionable and illogical, a post slavery and post colonial immense tragedy, defying logic and reason. The mineral towns and surrounding communities look like devastated and abandoned war zones. Foreign nations, nationals and companies have become rich at our expense for no justifiable reason or cause. . Isn't it a paradox that the hen that lays the golden eggs goes to bed hungry and weeping? How did we end up as mere beasts of burden to further the grandiose ambitions of some rich and ruthless business men, both local and foreign? Perhaps only a peoples revolution will provide answers to the unanswered questions and satisfy the demands of justice.
