The President must withdraw his unfortunate comment calling the King of Akyem´s Palace the headquarters of galamsey. Many northerners some from John Mahama´s hometown in the north are engaged in galamsey in Akyem Akwatia in the Denkyenbour district of the Eastern Region---hoping to gain some diamonds. John Mahama must withdraw his comment.

The roads in the at least 12 Akyem districts which make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region are in deplorable state and this must be remedied immediately.

Government response to the Ebola virus in our neighboring countries has not been the best. John Mahama has not told the nation anything. This is very bad particularly when Ghana holds the current chair of Ecowas. MPs and the President must be called to order. We expect a national broadcast within the next few days.

Can he tell Ghanaians, and indeed, the whole world that, he is not aware of such criminal activities taking place under his so called palace? And he wants to make a political capital of it! Only a stupid fool would refuse to reason. The president is not the one who sent the Galamsey people there, but he Amoatia, knows much about them. Now, what of the galamsey pit under his palace? Is he blind like a bat not to have seen it and question it? What a mierda of a chief! Listening to him blaming president Mahama for not counstructing roads, which according to him, would have prevented the people indulged in the galamsey, made me piss in his face? And when the timber was finised the Okyenhene formed the environmental task force which went about registering galamsayers. Which of the institutions in KYEBI haven't been mined...The school of the blind, the training college, the secondary school,.....everywhere. The rest followed later to join them. By custom, they sought the permission of the then Abuakwahene for a place to settle. To signify this gesture and for posterity to recognise the Abuakwahene as the landlord to the rest of the Akyem groups, he was, ansd still is, to be referred to as the Okyenhene, while the rest were,and still are, to be referred to as the Akyem Ahenfo.

Much as the Okyehene and his council might have done not enough to contain the situation, the outright outburst from our Honourable President was equally wrong. After seeing this deplorable situation in certain part of the country you govern, I would have wished the President office to have summoned the Omanhene's Council, the Regional Police Commissioner and the Regional Health Office, at least to find an immediate and lasting solution to this imminent hazard. Because if any hazardous outbreak occurs, it will affect the whole nation. This is not a matter to play politics because the Honourable President's remarks cannot be overlooked as devoid of some political diatribe or dissent. Let us all put on 'Ghana' first when dealing with situations which might affect all of us in the future.

The man sees what goes wrong in Ghana but he does not see what goes on in his own Kyebi! Perhaps he did not speak because he was using the proceeds from galamsey to finance his political campaigns.

What about Nana Amoatia Ofori Panin? He talks about environment and yet did not see this type of environmental degradation - just at his backyard? The two have questions to answer - Amoatia n Akuffo Addo. The situation at Kyebi is a big shame to these two great personalities.

This is a national issue not Chieftancy affairs.
Why do we spend millions of Cedis to send troops to prevent the civil conflicts in the North?It is because it is a national issue,the same as the galamsey problem in any part of Ghana.
So the President sholud be ashamed on trying to shift blame on the people of Kyebi.

the town of Kyebi.
Furthermore, The Abuakwa state should vote NDC next time if they want the NDC government to repair their roads as mentioned by their supreme chief, the Okyenhene.Those regions who voted NDC must benefit from their road repairs before those who did not vote NDC. They must join the queue.
