At the end of the Day, It was JJ Rawlings' Administration which ensured we have a higher institution of Education like Winneba University.

His contributions to the development of Ghana are well noted. If not for Rawlings, I wouldn't think Kuffuor the thief would have had any chance to become president of Ghana.

Most discerning Ghanaians and friends of Ghana around the globe rightly believed that,Rawlings of Gahana and Paul kagame of Rwanda deserved nobel peace prize for their timely interventions in their respective countries.They both took their countries from abyss to their(countries)current enviable states.Both countries are now the beacon of international investment in the dark continent.

The word "P3p3'" or "Pepe" means "honest", "fair" or "correct" in Akan. It's usage to describe or denote Northerners is in acknowledgement of their honesty and fairness, and therefore a tribute to their good character. It is unfortunate that non-Akans who do not understand the term use it as if it has derogatory connotations. In so doing they tend to fan hatred instead of appreciation among our Northern compatriots. Let those who do not understand the term "Pepeni" take note of its true meaning and desist from using it to fan tribal hatred against Akans.

A language kan only spoke by people and for that reason my meaning of unfamiliar people is in a sense the same as unfamiliar language. Maybe is a coincidence that pepeni means good or nice people in some language. Therefore, even pepeni is not a particular tribe but many and is unfamiliar speaking language and as well as unfamiliar people when we find them as strangers. There is many tribes in the north as well as immigrant from neighbouring countries living together at Zongos and they are pepefuo which has nothing to do with good people or whatever.

It was Rawlings who single-handedly destroyed the once prestigious, meaningful and proud educational system in this country. Having done that and realizing the mess he had caused, proceeded to export his own children abroad to educate them with dubiously acquired funds. What other reason do these stupid idiots in that UEW need to prove that this man is not worth any honors? It seems to me that these so-called Professors are themselves the result of Rawlings bad management and destruction of the educational system in Ghana.

And what specifically is that former Nigerian President being honored for? In spite of all her resources, that poor country has been reduced to one of the poorest and most miserable countries in the world by the collusion - without exception, of endlessly corrupt Nigerian political leaders. I doubt if that Abubakar guy merits the award.

As for Anamuah Mensah, apart from having been a Former Principal, and first Vice Chancellor of UEW, I do not of any outstanding achievements that he may have chalked for him to merit that honor.

I was a former admirer of JJ at the beginning but no more because I feel like he betrayed us and also fooled us because we all saw how he came in initially as a Junior Jesus who did not want material things but ended now with several booties mean while he had killed several rich people because they had various properties.That still remains troubling because what has he got to tell the children of those he killed.If you those shortcommings aside he also did a lot for the nation for which when he dies he will be remembered for yes I am kumasi guy but let us face it those days no Taxi will ever dare travel to places such as Suame,Krofrom and several other places because the city roads were so bad that no previous had succeeded to rectify the situation because they all tried but the Ashantehene those days seemed to be contractor for everything so it JJ who one afternoon came to kumasi fuming and stood tall in kumasi and boldly bsaid he was awarding kumasi roads to a foreign contractor and will see to it himself and nobody else that the right thing is done and boldly said the then Asantehene should back off and loo and behold within a short period Kajetia to Suame,Krofrom etc.roads were done to perfection.Another also the rural electrification and electric to north was also on Ghana books for long but it remained just talk talk he came and did that,then the interstate inheritance law.It was very pathetic that women had to toil with their husbands for long and when the husband dies a sister's son or nephew(wofasie) will rise up to claim the properties this man had toiled with this poor lady to acquire especially the Akan speaking folks did that most under the guise of culture what a stupid culture was that?There are several good and bad this JJ guy will be remembered for.Above all he created awareness among the Ghanaian folks.There several to do things that were on the drawing board for years from regime to regime but always remained undone but he was the one mustered the courage to get things going.That time he did that the bugabuga way by putting fear in the masses but today that can not be done in a democratic system.Even now he still sometimes has the bugabuga instinct in him forgetting societies,people and everything has changed the military system of governace is history because democracy allows ordinary people to do extraordinary things in a free society.Be the judge.Thanks

Oh Ghanaians, even dons in our higher institutions exhibit DOCILITY, when they see a person with some percentage of OBRONI blood in him/her. If this is not the case, why on earth should a university community which supposed to know better make a move to honour and reinforce DEVIANT BEHAVIOURS such as Rawlings'?

Rawlings arm-robbed Ghana with impunity. You don't honour such a person who commited TREASONABLE CRIMES. This action on the part of the university borders on DOCILITY laced with INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

If we don't stop such stupidity we'll NEVER progress as a country: instead of committing to research & development to move the country foward, the university is reinforcing anti-social and anti-development behaviours. This is NOT acceptable!!!

How in the World, could so called intelligentsia and Professors of a University stoop so low to nominate J.J. Rawlings a well known murderer to be a recipient of an honorary doctorate degree from UEW.
Did the University hierarchy know of his past before making that self damaging decision? This man Rawlings, did order the killings of some of the nation's top and fair minded judges because they uphold the laws of the land and held dearly on Freedom and Justice.
I find it very appalling that a delegation of UEW professors were dumb enough to risk their lives to travel to Accra just to give Rawlings the news. I think the decision of UEW Administration has thus far, give people like me, cause to question the caliber, the intelligence and the integrity of the UEW Administration and the senior faculty members.

Yours truly, The Crusading GUIDE has discovered how Benjamin Brako Bismark, under the stool name Nana Osae Ntifo Ababio, the Chief of Aburi and Adontenhene of Akuapim disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 1982 when he was picked to Gonda barracks by Ex-President Rawlings and his cronies.
Our findings have revealed that B.B. Bismark, then a successful self made business magnate, was picked to the Gonda barracks in a military vehicle where he shared a common cell with the then Henry Djaba without any clear charges leveled against him but for the flimsy charges brought against him by Rawlings and his boys including having many cars, houses, and many other properties.
