To tell the truth, Akans and their Akan party are like Hitler or Hutus of Ruwanda. But the difference here is that, they are scared of other Ghanaian tribes. Because they are people who are too weak but strong in evil and corrupt and showing their hate to other tribes. I remember when Kwame Nkrumah was trying to educate them about love and equality, they were bussy seeing white people to do all what they can for their UGCP to win the election in Ghana just to come and swallow all Ghanaians. The vision of that time is what NPP are trying to champion in this Ghana of today. They even practiced it during 2000-2008 but yet their couldn`t avail. The hate they have for the rest of Ghanaians, made them to split and get into other parties so that, whoever wins will at least go in their favour. As a results of that, they are found of corrupt in whatever party they join. Even though it sound as if they are in different party with different vision, in reality they are still Akans with hate and hitler like action or Hutus of Ruwanda.

Nobody can hide the light and true destiny of the great nation of Akan. they use all kinds of schemes and tricks to undermine or deny a proper standard to us but we shall never surrender. we shall change and adapt as like the Israelis we are the chosen people of God and he in his great design has made us diverse but unified in spirit. the ashantis like the tribe of Judah are and will remain an integral part of our being to to attack any one part we all end up feeling it sooner or later. they have succeed in turning some of our chiefs and kings against us and work for their evil ungodly agenda but we still see clearly . God has brought us into the 21st century and with that a new system of governance and state of mind based on democracy since it is HE alone who blesses the individuals with the gift of leadership wisdom and justice irrespective of status at birth. he has shown us the blue print of the way forward in the bible and other holy books and the time has come to free ourselves from this man made bondage called Ghana. just as in the Ukraine we must fight so the truth will come out , fear not the battle as they will crumble like the walls of Jericho . cast away our so called fake leaders and politicians who are nothing but cowards and like our enemies fear even their own shadows . yes God has put a million fears in their empty bodies as he who does not fear the Lord , the Lord will ensure all fears of the world will reside in him. They threaten us with superstition , juju and what have you and we say fuck you and go to hell as the divine power is with us . Yes all the tribes of Akan are fingers on the same hands and God has ordained we remain united so our strength and light will be visible throughout the whole world and universe , our time has come . everyday its becoming clearer and clearer to all children of Akan that we must prepare mentally for a battle of freedom . they come with tricks that say we must take a non Akan as our leader because its nice ? do they not think that out of 30 million Akans we can not find sensible down to earth leaders and warriors to lead our own people to our own destiny? a govt of the people and by the people is what the 21st century democracy is all about . let them continue to play with the consensus and other figures that justify their fantasy and enable them to marginalize the participation of the Akan majority in the Affairs of their own land , to marginalize us thus preventing us to afford a better standard for our people . The had of God has given them pestilence after pestilence but they refuse to let our people go , soon they will be swept away like chaff in the hurricane of fury . Long live the republic of Akan and don't you forget it as now the Fanti speakers, Twi speakers, Ashantis and other tribes of Akan are now one .

The reality is all tribes are disrespected by others one way or the other. However Northners are mostly disrespected by all tribes whiles Ewes are usually "disliked" by Akans especially Asantes.

Asantes among the Akans on the other hand are also mostly disliked by other tribes surprisingly including some other Akan groups.

The sad part is whether we like it or not we shall continue to live together as one so the sooner we let go of all these nonsense and find a lasting solution to our problems the better it would be for us all.

anywhere you go in this world, even between towns there may be some kind of look down on each other. the most important thing is at the end how do we treat each other. what ghanians forget to realise is that we have inter-married to the point that right now, if you go to a place like ashanti region, I can bet you that there is not a single home in the region that doesn't have a relative from other tribe. I am not sure about how it is in the other tribes though. therefore it is time Ghanaians come together and shame those stupid politicians who continues to sow seeds of hatred among us. else it will be better for the country to break up on tribal lines. because I am afraid what awaits the country if we are not careful.

Even if all Akans go to live in the north and the volta region and the ewes and the northerners come to live in the Akan lands, the situation will be the same. Another fact is that every group in Ghana feel marginalized whether it be the asantes, ewes, Ga,etc... and we are all vulnerable to the sweet talks of these demons AKA politicians. If they hated these people, Northerners and Ewes wouldn't be moving to Kumasi and enjoying the hospitality of the region. The major problem in relation to this rise in tribal sentiments has come about because the NPP wants to use all foul means to win power in Ghana, hence the use of Akan on the rise in our political landscape.

It is highly unfortunate that political parties' activities have really disturbed our social lives in many ways in Ghana, since every little issue one raises quickly calls in tribal talks, a thing which surely will never help our nation's development.

I believe time has come for every sensible citizen of our nation to wake up and realise that with tribal and political bigotry in our daily media projections we shall never reach anywhere near development. We shall therefore remain in financial difficulties, leaving our national economy crumbling down to the pit.

No political party should dream of salvaging our economy if they contimue with their primitive politics of selfishness, greediness and national disunity with their latest sickness of the Akan tag syndrome.

This character of retrogressive village mindedness, when practised unabatedly will lead us into economic disaster of which no political party can solve it period.

It is true that the Northern Region has been and is even now being pampered unfavourably! The Norhern sector now boasts of quite a number of well educated professionals because of free education. Free education was supposed to help those who could not afford the cost of educating their wards. But now, having enjoyed the favour themselves and becoming super rich, affluent Northerners such as President Mahama and his brother are pushing their own wards through to be educated by the free education policy in the North whilst many children in other parts of the country are dropping out from school because their parents cannot afford to pay for their education.
What is being done about that? If the Northern sector of the country is now of age, and are demanding to be considered so, then it is about time the free education policy as is practised in the North is applied evenly throughout the entire country. Otherwise, people should stop this noise about the North being disrespected.
As to which tribe is the 'bank' for which party, Sekou should have gone further to discuss the margin of votes involved. In the Ashanti region, for instance, the proportion of votes between the NPP and the NDC has normally been of the order of 60% to 45% since the beginning of the current republic, whileas it has been about 10% to 90% in the Volta. That alone speaks volumes for itself. It tells any open minded observer that this could not be due to just political 'banking' alone: there may be some underlying factor which is hiding behind politics. Surely, if any party should be tagged as being of any particular tribe, then the best example would be that the NDC is an Ewe party, more so than the NPP being an Akan party! But for whatever reason, our media men are blinded to what happens in the Volta, and just jump on the band wagon to declare the NPP as an Akan party because some famous NDC politicians have said so!
There will come one day when all the Akans would realise that their significance as the largest tribe in the country is being pushed into the gutters. When all the Akan tribes start voting for one party in order to ensure their survival, the whole country would be the losers. All party executives of the NPP would be Akans, the President and his cabinet would all be Akans. All major heads of government boards would be Akans. All heads of professional bodies would be Akans. Then we would all sit back and enjoy the fruits of our hard work!

The Kotoka/Ankrah/Afrifa and Achepong/Akufo Military regimes ruled for 10 years, Busia ha 2 years, and Limann had 2 years. NPP ruled for only 8 years under Kufuor.
So, which regime has had the longest opportunity but disrespected and sidelined Northerners and Ewes the most? Is it the NPP? That amount of money could have been used to address the development challenges in the Volta region by the Mahama led NDC gov't which derives it's support mainly from the Volta region which they have described as their world bank.
Again the amount of almost GHC200million cedis could have been used to address some of the development needs of the North, after the NDC gov't led by John Mahama initiated the SADA project, but has become a conduit for the looting of state funds without addressing the proposed purpose of the indigenes of the North, which is the alleviation of poverty.
So who has been disrespecting the Northerners and the Ewes? And are the Northerners and the Ewes by their actions respecting the Northerners and the Ewes, and Ghanaians in general when one takes into consideration such stupid, reckless and lawless actions of members of the NDC such as Hanna Tetteh?
The seeds of ethnic hatred and bigotry which have been sowed by the Rawlings NDC military junta cum political party, which has been planted in the minds of a section of the citizenry creating the façade that some Ghanaians hate them, and therefore, creating the situation for looting and thievery, recklessness and impunity, which allows actions of Hanna Tetteh for example, to go unpunished and thus, affecting the socio-economic development of the country needs to be consigned to the dustbin of history.
The reckless and lawless actions of Hanna Tetteh which has caused Ghana to loose such a huge sum of money is unacceptable. Such stupidity and incompetence, recklessness and irresponsibility needs to be curtailed immediately. The Mahama led NDC gov't needs to demonstrate that, it takes governance seriously, that it takes the socio-economic development of the country very, very seriously irrespective of our diverse ethnic background.
The irresponsibility of Hanna Tetteh should be addressed by the Mahama led NDC gov't by firing Hanna Tetteh immediately. Ghana deserves better.

It should be noted that Rawlings is the longest serving president for 19 years and he is an Ewe who was heavily supported by Akans intellectuals. Again, the Akan majority voted the late President Hilla Limann to power and he was overthrown by Rawlings for the reasons he assigned. President Mahama, was also voted to power by the Akans as well. So please don't turn to blame the Akans for others who are looking down on Northerners.

(2) IN every town there is a"Mensah".
That said there is in every country a practise is akin to tribalism.
In the UK the electorate will manouvre to vote in an Engish prime minister ahead of a scot,welsh or jew.
I have seen time and again that the only time it has happened for a scot,welsh prime minister is through the default system of continuing to the next election date.So Jim Callaghan (welsh)and Mr Brown(scot) became prime ministers.
IN Ghana we have a situation where marginalisation of tribes is due to our long history of intolerance.

It is baseless and stupid indeed to assert that by electing a northner or an ewe to lead the NPP Party is the antidote for the party to get support from the area. The most important thing is to get a compotent leader from any region in Ghana to lead the country irrespective of his ethnic background. This assertion rather breeds tribalism contrary to unification of the country based on " One People, One Nation and One Destiny" champion by his own father and Kutu Acheampong of SMC 1. Sekou should know that It will be totally discriminately for a nothener to cast his or her vote against an Akan leader from the NPP party because of his tribal traits despite his capability or compentency to rule the country at its best than to vote for an incompetent President from the north. Afterall the end result of any political and pragmatic policies of a leader affect all of us as Ghanaian. Furthermore, Akans are not Asantes and Akyems alone but include ethnic groups like the Brons, Kwahus, Akuapems and even some of the people in the Volta region called Volta Akans from Kagebi , Jasikan, Buem Krachi and the rest and therefore, would be wrong and suicidal to portray Asantes for being the only Akans as enemies of ewes or northerners as propagated by he Sekou being ignorant of this fact. It is a shame to blackmail NPP in this manner.
