Any agreement which would tie the hands of successive governments must be discussed at length by the potential successive leaders.
It must be sent to parliament house and the school of Economics of the University of Ghana for further deliberation. The MPs (representatives) must consult their constituents.
I have no doubt in my mind of the fruitlessness of this agreement. Europeans are not altruistic. As Americans say pull yourself up by your own bootstraps. They are seeking their welfare first. A fact which must not be lost on us.
We have to think for ourselves. We must not play second fiddle to any economic bloc. The neocolonialists would not have their way.
There is a more elegant solution awaiting the prudent seeker.

Pressure your Leaders to stop taking shameful foreign Grants and Charitable Assistances now, now, now. Start leveraging your various resources wisely for SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURAL Development. ( THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED SOFT AID -NOT CASH- FROM THE DEVELOPED NATIONS, BECAUSE OF THEIR PROVEN RECORD AND EXPERIENCE. GO TO THE USA, NOT UK. UK IS ONLY HISTORY)Once the infrastructure is in place, the economy would take off and every Ghanaian will be well off. Ghana is blessed with tremendous superior competitive factors. The Leadership only have to wake up and take advantage of this. If all else fails, pick up Dr. Nkrumah's 7 year Dev. Plan and implement it honestly. It is good and valid to day as it was then. THINK GHANAMAN!!!

Most of these aids are squandered anyway by our great politicians. Do you actually think they are value for money?
Yet still in return, they are busy giving away our resources like we will discover other lands or we are marked for extinction.
Have you ever considered how the others make enough to give them or invest into us as Aid and loans?
By the way, this is how they invest their pensions so they will definitely becoming back for them and woe to us if we can not give them back.
I am a great advocate against aids and loans, simple.

some people from the ndc when they hear the truth about their genocide and racist tribalism go into a stupefied frenzy foaming at the mouth thinking that will make their lies and propaganda true . The fact remain the Akans are being systematically denied their rights in their own land , being robbed in broad daylight by this mafia stealing ndc . they even tried to corrupt our morals by forcing down our throats so called sodomy and homosexuality by all surveys prove 98% of the people are firm and steadfastly against such perverse corrupt behavior . the days of the ndc are over but they dont see it , they will not get even 5% of the vote as its now clear to all what their true agenda has always been . The anti Akan mission has failed and we stand stronger than ever before .yes they say anyone who speaks up is illiterate but i say we have gone to the school of hard knocks and graduated from the university of bullshit , right now i am writing my doctorate thesis on the correlation of the female ass shape and the frustration of the people . we see the diverse beauty and fine proportional shape of the Akan woman and compare it to the ugly stinking disproportion of the ayigbe , ga , and pepeni females . We understand the Europeans whose women have bodies with no shape like teenage boys so recognize their inability to differentiate between the sexes and insist that sodomy or gay is right . but for them to come again and misbehave with their cheating bullying and mobbing mentality today is too much, look at even their embassies , almost all of them have walls higher than Jericho or are designed like military bases to keep our people out , i wonder why they even come , we should encourage them to close this offices of oppression and leave , their people are welcome to come but these politicians and their servants are not . in europe towns with less than 100,000 population have consulates opened but here they all herd up in Accra and talk shit with this EPA, what a nerve , we should cut off their balls and feed it to them . in the meantime after blaming some poor Akan man for the last Turkey/ Iran gold scandal we see now who the real culprits are . Pepeni kwasea himself is putting our gold there as he knows for sure the revolution is coming and he plans to run off to his Islamic criminal brothers .Yes we shall establish a new state based on freedom , equality and justice for all .This idea of reconciliation has denied true justice and all countries that went down that path have only regretted . The Jews didnt accept reconciliation rather up to today hunt down the Nazi criminals , we should deal with jj fake revolutionaries the same way and arrest all of them as a lesson to future generations that crime does not pay no matter the ideology its wrapped in . we see today big men from the ndc trying to cut deals with the npp in secret but we shall never forgive them and make sure they feel the full force of Akan law . their days are numbered , we have defeated them in their propaganda war and now we shall dismantle all their evil

Here we go, another Brain-Dead NDC IDIOT!!! The fact of the matter is, dullard MAHAMA is only supervising a team of in-experienced louts who have managed to steer the ship of State into the GUTTERS.
The blame should be apportioned onto this plagiarist Minister of Trade, Haruna Iddrisu, who failed to address the stakeholders far before the Agreement went to the extent of just requiring a signature.
Here,we must thank the Nigerians who were able to identify the potential flaws in the Agreement that made it necessary for deferment of one month for further study.
Apart from all that, silly dullard MAHAMA still insists he wants the Agreement signed. Bringing in European cheaper goods without any Tax Payments and expecting the stakeholders to be happy about it.
No wonder the Churches have now become the Tax target of this stupid MAHAMA GOVERNMENT instead of the Ports and Harbour, etc.
Our Merchant Bank has become the property of his brother. Now the Bank should be called, "BANK de waawaawaaa"
With such IDIOTS running the country, how can the people see the light at the end of the tunnel??
Best Regards,

I generally agree with your sentiment about Ghana's "useless" Professors, but Dr. Busia is a wrong example. Busia's reign as President was short to be able to objectively judge him negatively. In his short period, he constructed the ONLY underground sewerage system in the country; decentralized the country by moving key-services to the regions; improved infant-delivery which encouraged private local midwifery network etc. For the first time in Ghana's history, people actually migrated from Accra to the regions. His uncompleted plan to drudge the Korle lagoon in Accra remains unfulfilled to this day. And all of these plans were communicated to the nation before implementation !

For this doctor to attack his fellow academician for speaking out his mind is what rather exposes our incompetence, division and that is the reason we keep having this imposition from these Europeans.
They have played us against each other for years and now it seems we love to fight among ourselves.
In fact, in Europe, the government rides on the agitations of the hardliners to make policies that favor their people above others in this world of equality and polarization.
It is stupid, stupid, stupid for any Ghanaian to use semantics to insult any Ghanaian, like Dr. Graham, who is just putting himself in line to seek the best for his people.
Trust me, the Europeans would mark him out for counter bad treatment and it is ignorance on our part to try and isolate Dr. Graham because this will discourage brave Ghanaians who would have to stand for us in future and eventually this is how they pick us out one by one.
Today it is Dr. Graham, tomorrow it would be you Dr. Baah.
These Europeans are competitors and not friends. It is only fools who would continue to see them as friends.

Lecturer, the Mahama administration is poor at administration. When Kufuor wanted HIPC for Ghana, he explained it clearly to Ghanaians. This admnistration loves praise-singers only. Just let any Ghanaian stand up and explain the pros and cons EPA and they will look at his political background and start their insults if he is not an NDC man. If you want brain-work under this administration then you are at a loss. Is this not the first time that people are hooting at foreign intellectuals? This should tell you that Ghana is in the wrong hands. Ghana is now in the gutter, kwasia bi nti.

There is no effective weapon than heckling at a contrived and staged arrangement and the provision of a Platform for foreign interests groups to rape our dear country. By his comments, Dr Baah is inadvertently giving a voice to the EPA. Ghanaians don't want EPA. we don't need an academician to tell us that. I suggest you shut up. Before making these judgmental comments, have you asked yourself why the EU representative in Ghana needed to explain to Ghanaians, and by extension Africans, the benefits of EPA for Ghanaians and Africans? Does this move not mean Ghanaian and African political "leaders" are incapable of explaining to their fellow citizens the importance of an agreement they are rushing to sign on their behalf?
Instead of making those comments, it would have been more helpful both for the government of Ghana that demonstrates so far little knowledge of the consequences of signing this agreement, and the Ghanaian citizens, if you would spend your time and energy explaining the real benefits of EPA for Africans. What manufactured goods Africans are going to export to EU?
African states don't even know yet how to trade among themselves, and now they want to trade with EU as equal partners. Which ECOWAS country is going to export which products to EU?
Are we going to sign first and think later?

For a person who calls himself Patriot but doesnt show any of those merits, it is hardly surprising that you so miserably expose yourself as just another brainwashed house-nigger. If you are ashamed that your master is being hooted at, what would you do when one day when you wake up from your slumber, you discover the unparalleled crimes that these same people have meted out to us over several centuries?
Socialism is a dead ideology? Even your masters themselves are crawling on their knees to gain favour from China - a communist state. Truly, truly ignorance is bliss.

People are contributing over here without reasoning.
All that the Academician is saying is that, it was an opportunity to listen to the so called uninvited guest to expatiate on the subject in order to give people at the forum the opportunity to deliberate on the matter.
It actually makes sense to have listened to what he had to say and put tough questions to him to answer.
After all listening to him on the subject did not mean the agreement was signed.
The final agreement would surely be done in parliament by the government the good people of Ghana have empowered through the ballot box to steer the affairs of the country.
I am personally not very much into that deal because yes, it may surely benefit them than us because as someone rightly said, why is it that they do not assist us to build up industries here in Ghana and other parts of Africa and the Caribbean as they will simply reject goods from Ghana with a very flimsy excuse and flood our markets with theirs to make things much harder for us.
Whiteman never does something that he will not get the final say.

As much as i don`t support the EPA agreement, do we have a choice? We go out there begging always for these pople to supplement out budget all the time,so why are we angry when they tell us what to do?
Does anyone believe the EU can tell China or Korea what to do?Ofcourse not, because these Countries will never come begging. So if we as people want to avoid such situations, all we need to do is,stop the stealing, stop corruption, the selfishness and build our Country to be selreliant,as the saying goes "a begger has no choice.
We always go out of our ways insulting the West, about how they are exploiting us and all that bullshit, yet most of you pay huge sums of money to come to the West to clean their toilets.
After more than 50years of Independence what can Ghana say they have achieved as a nation? We can`t even live on our own budget without aid from the West.

Dr. Amoako Baah, you have disappointed me. You sound like a reactionary. What are you teaching your students in political science; to be uncritical, subservient to the whiteman because the whiteman pays for his school fees? They have the freedom to stop giving us aid or supporting our budget but they won't do it because it serves a purpose for them; it's a means to have control over us and even if we reject it they will force it on us. That is the plain truth.
But for you, it is sad if we still have reactionary scholars not only among us but in positions of higher learning to breed more reactionary scholars.
What business has the EU representative at a forum of Ghanaians to debate whether to sign the EPA or not, other than to throw dust into our eyes; justify that the EPA is good for us? If you think that was ok go to New York and organise a forum to justify terrorism. You'd be lucky to be deported back to Ghana by the next available plane if you were not sent to Guantanamo Bay.

I understand from this piece that you are an outspoken lecture. I totally disagree with your view that heckling of Claude exposes Ghana's incompetence. Which of course include you. The heckling to say the least was ungentlemanly. Tell me Richard, are you incompetence? As a lecturer, I believe if any of your students had submitted what you have said here. I am sure you would expect him or her to provide evidence to support this assertion. You should have done the same thing that you would expected of your students
As I understand it, the forum was organised for CSOs to deliberate on EPA. A programme for the event showing what the topic for discussion was and invited speakers was sent to invitees.
For some reasons One or more persons thought they can gate crashed and parachuted Claude on the platform to speak.
Lecturer Richard, the forum was one of the many avenues for the country to discuss the EPA. This is not a forum of state holders which would have given the propriety of Claude an audience.

Let him shut up - we are not under a dictatorship and Ghana is not Ukraine to be manipulated by the EU and NATO as they wish. Seems to me Dr Baah scored an own goal. The very fact that he said no one should assume that our own ministers are not well versed in this is a clear indictment of having people who should be responsible to look into cases, assess and understand the action and implications, open it up for discussion and review internally first. If our own minister does not understand what he is getting into then what hope is there for the rest who feel like they are being raped.
