With all due respect, I take this opportunity to caution my fellow Ghanaians, against the tendencies of acting on little knowledge.

As a kid in Ghana my mother used to remind me that; a little knowledge was more dangerous than no knowledge at all,-- whenever I acted on insufficient facts, and experience.

The new pressure group, Ghanaians for Better government must cease and desist from misleading Ghanaians.

The president, and his brother have not acted improperly; or have they acted in their personal interests.

They are only acting in the best interest of our beloved Great Ghana.

A disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with any political party in Ghana.

However, as a true son of Ghana with the advantage of the knowledge in this matter; I feel compelled to help set the record straight.

To reiterate:

Neither the president nor his brother have done anything shady in this matter.

The US led sanctions against Iran do not include gold transactions.

The big picture is therefore given by the ensuing scenarios.

If the government of Ghana sends gold to Iran as a gift, and Iran in turn gives Ghana oil as a gift; what is wrong with this picture?

NOTHING!

If the government of Ghana sells the oil that it receives as a gift from Iran; what's wrong with this picture?

NOTHING!

Under the US led sanctions against Iran, the country can sell the gold that it receives from Ghana.

Question:

If Iran sells the gold that she receives from the government of Ghana; has letter or the spirit of the US led sanctions against Iran been violated?

Of Course NO!

The president is helping Ghana, while at the same time strengthening our bilateral relationship with the oil rich Persian nation.

This is a savvy view of international relations. It is also good governance and policy.

It sends the message that, Ghanaians will not throw their friends under the bus, in tough times.

I therefore urge the new pressure group to educate itself properly before it needlessly starts crying: CORRUPTION!

Come to think of it: Dr Sekou Nkrumah started painting the atmosphere of corruption around this creative transaction by the president, and his brother, -- that was made in the best interest of Ghanaians.

I sincerely urge my fellow honorable Ghanaians to equip themselves with knowledge, and not to allow themselves to be misled by people who have nothing to offer them.

May Lord Almighty continue to bless our beloved Great Ghana:
