However, as President of the Republic, Mahama's status has changed and must be very careful with conflict of interest and how he separates his brother's business from national affairs.

There is too much news about his brother which have direct relations with the Nation, and that speak very ill about the President. He must look into that seriously; the world is changing and things can't continue to be done as usual all the time.

What I personally think is that, this NDC government seriously thinks and believes that all Ghanaians are blind. Half the blind are considered as dumb, and the other half brain dead. That's why they're acting with such impunity and careless what we think or say. All the umbilical cords of the NDC are tied to lies and corruption. They will see the word one, but swear it is two. Ibrahim has been in the news for the wrong reasons for far too long. I agree that apart from the the SC case he has been the main source of worry for the President because of the bad press. But there is no need to spread falsehood about him. Ibrahim's business, for that matter Engineers and Planners (EP) predates the Presidency or even Vice Presidency of John Mahama. Way back in the era of Kuffour NPP I and NPP II, EP was existing and carrying out contracts and projects in bridges, mining etc. His business extended into Ashanti and Western regions. Those times the brother was a mere NDC MP in opposition. At that time his mother, Madam Joice Tamakloe (May her soul rest in peace) was a registered and strong NPP member. Ibrahim and John Mahama don't have the same mother. The father like most Ghanaians, had a polygamous marriage. Ibrahims mother ably took care of her children and invested in various properties in Accra and elswhere as a succesful business woman, she was also a Director of EP until her death in 2005 in far away South Africa where she had been sent for cancer treatment by her son Ibrahim. All her property in Accra and elsewhere including lands and buildings were inherited by her children and managed by Ibrahim. With his business acumen Ibrahim has nurtured his company to a very viable entity which banks were willing to do business with. Never mind that he never has any qualifications, he doesn't need any to be successful. Ask Bill Gates and that American computer wizkid. Even with no such notable qualifications, he has employed highly qualified, engineers, accountants, architects and lawyers. Ibrahim cannot stay out of politics because he has been thrown into it. When NDC was in oppostion, he became a benefactor of most former govt appointees and MPs who had lost their seats. The guy has an open heart for both NDC and NPP members, media men and other professionals. Ibrahim's fame also predates John Mahama's rise in politics. The guy has suffered immensely from both NPP and NDC. As soon as John was made the running mate of Professor Mills, Ibrahim's problems started with the Kuffour Govt, beginning with the shortening of the repayment of the Merchant Bank loan. Then when John became Vice president, Ibrahim problems started with the NDC big shots who were bent on denying John the chance at the presidency, for they saw Ibrahim as his backbone. Politics would come and go. Blood is thicker than water. Even if John is no more president, he is still the beloved brother of Ibrahim. That being said, Ibrahim if he reads this piece should give John some space to work. People are not comfortable with the way he is chaperoning the President everywhere he goes. Ibrahim needs to transact his business from his office and leave the President alone. Ibrahim can do without handouts from anybody because he has worked hard and independently to arrive at this point. He can be criticized for his indiscretions, and the president can be taken on for a conflict of interest, but facts are facts, even Kennedy Agyapong recognizes Ibrahim's business acumen. Those who don't have the facts please, get an education from this.

All too often in Ghana, the good that men do are often written in ashes and their shortcomings emboldened in letters of gold. I dare you to contradict a single fact that I have presented.
