If there is enough empirical evidence that the Program is hurting Ashanti Region rather than helping, and the Gov't is recalcitrant in re-evaluating it, those sufficiently knowledgeable of the facts could go to the Court to seek injunction on its continuation.

These disjointed personal insults on the President cannot change anything. Meanwhile, the People may be truly hurting. I heard the former MP, Mr. Kofi Jumah, is a leading advocate for the abrogation of the Program. Why can't he lead the case in Court to stop it? He should put his money where his mouth is.

The other worrying aspect of the issue is making it an ethnic issue. After all, it is not only Ashantis who live in the Ashanti Region, and the negative effects of the Program would hurt folks of all ethnic backgrounds in the Region. Bad Programs of this nature is no respecter of Ethnicity or political affiliation. So, let us focus on the merits, or otherwise, of the Program.

Lastly, if the Program turns out to be a failure and accepted by the Authorities to have caused any harm to the People in Ashanti Region, the Gov't must duly compensate the victims and the Region. The Region did not volunteer to be used for a testing ground for the Program. The Gov't imposed it on the Region. Therefore the Gov't owes the Region, at least, the return to the Health level that prevailed there prior to the Program's introduction.

This is the kind of argument that we can bring to bear at the Courts to extricate the Region from the Program, if it is really bad and hurtful to the People. The extermination of Ashantis angle won't wash anywhere.

This article is very childish,was Equirer expecting the Ashantihene to tell the President of the nation,on his face that"hey Mr President,this is the Ashanti Region we don`t support you"? And besides,assuming Nana himself is an NDC supporter,he still has one vote like anybody else in Ghana.And Nana can`t tell Ashantis how to vote.
I wonder why only the NDC can see the "massive"developement projects going on in the Country,but the rest of us can`t see.
