  Postal service is one area that has to improve. It has capacity to employ all classes of labour to cut unemployment down.
  
  Efficient postal service reduce delivery times even to hours as we otherwise see in some cases in weeks and months with Ghana Post.
  
  Also, I think with the government's unable to strategize and implement Zip/Post code services for safe and faster deliveries, Ghana Post can contact me for model ideas to expand their own services in that direction.
  
  Internet is helpful but by no means could undermine physical post services because internet trading is inextricably linked to postal service, so I will say internet otherwise expand postal delivery services. Documents we transmit on internet anyway carve into the margin in postal delivery, the off-set from internet trade is positive. Eg Tonaton, etc is internet trade just ebay, amazon, and the likes helping postal services expand.
  
  More so, having efficient delivery services cut time, cost, risk, etc. Someone does not need to travel from Accra to Oda to deliver urgent parcel if Ghana Post can do that in hours. Cost of fuel, time, risk of accident, carbon emission, etc would be saved this way.
  
  Other services such as selling insurance, banking, mobile telecommunication, documents certification, safe keeping and storage, etc can be traded in by Ghana Post via IPO finance.

  BEFORE INDEPENDENCE, we had this P.O.Box........at that time Ghana's population was 6,5 Million.
  After 57 yrs , with a population OVER 25 million, we are STILL RUNNING for P.O.Box....... Can't we think of and DEVELOP....... ...

  Ezekiel, you need to travel wide to observe things for yourself.

  You are right, PO-boxes are used in Europe. But not that much and almost only by businesses.
  
  Every house/apartment has its own mailbox and mail address, with daily delivery of post.
  
  This is much different from Ghana!

  Don't be naive. The "419" people are using these post boxes for a purpose. Please alert the security agents about the development.

  I think they are doing a very good job now.The level of parcel stealing has somehow reduced,but the problems we are facing now,is the extortions of money from the customs officers posted there. Isn´t it absurd that, after having paid money to post a parcel from outside, the customs would still subject you to extortions, even on used hand sets, more than the total amount of the purchase and the posting? The Authorities should take a second look at it! After all, we don´t even see what they use all those monies for.
