Even though what is called terrorism started in IRELAND, nobody has ever described any of those caught in the act as Christian terrorist. The Europeans, who colonized us and super-terrorized our grandfathers, introduced Christianity here as well. Did we call them Christian terrorists?

Govt should not commit our troops there. It's some members of the Nigerian govt and businesspersons who are sponsoring BOKO HARAM. It's a purely domestic affair. Let's live them alone to deal with it.

Ghana being so porous, any involvement of our troops can lead to extremely dangerous retaliatory attacks.

the problem with this northern mentality is that thanks to jj they now all have an unquenchable thirst for power but never to serve in a team or accept their fellow countrymen . just look around in Accra and study the majority of the businesses owned by these northerners and in the majority of the medium and Small sized businesses you notice they only employ their fellow northerners and practically never employ an Akan . Today in Accra the largest religious building in the country will be the mosque being build on our national park at Nima donated by Turkey confirming the Islamic domination of Ghana. Tribalism mixed with chauvinism and despotism from the north has now equaled the hegemony of the ewes . A.C.C.R.A any criminal can roam about so we have them everywhere now . even at the scholarship secretariat hardly ever is an Akan awarded the privilege to go abroad and study now . The Akans are the majority but because most continue to sleep or blindly trust the other tribes these atrocities are taking place . We look at the political strategy of the NDC and see the typical Hannibal wench when he turned the strengths of the mighty Roman army against themselves as they are doing to the Akans . From the south they use part of the Fantis and from the North the Brongs , from behind we have the chariot onslaught of the Gas Ewes Krobos. Yes the political landscape reflects a war which is only meant to destroy the right of self governance of the God's chosen nation of Africa the Akan . For them its a big deal who leads the NPP but we really don't care as our movement grows stronger by the hour as more and more Akans wake up to reality of this dire situation . These days it very easy to condemn Boko Haram, and rightly so, for their barbarism, the hijacking, and misrepresenting the Islamic religion.

But you have to tell yourself, nothing happens in a vacuum. The Boko Haram, meaning western book (i.e. boko) knowledge is sinful (i.e. haram) are nothing more than common folks who have become disenchanted by the massive corruption that has descended upon the country Nigeria at the hands of her so-called western educated politicians and civil servants. Billions of Nigerian oil revenue has been stolen by politicians and bureaucrats. Few powerful and well-connected individuals have amassed unimaginable wealth, whereas millions of their citizens wallow in abject and extreme poverty.

They look at their educated countrymen, schooled in formal education (western education) and wonder what and how they were educated in the white man's way and wonder in disbelief how they could have been so corrupt. Then they recall the days before contact with white people, through colonialism and their brand of education, as compared to the Islamic religion and education handed down by their ancestors and conclude that western education is corrupting and sinful. Their cause is a rebellious backlash and a call for return to what they consider to be proper education, an Islamic education with emphasis on morality, sharing, caring and communal living, without the sharp classism that capitalism and corruption generates. If only they would have stuck to this simple cause without their barbaric and savage behaviour, they could have gained support and appeal amongst common folks. What they are doing is not Islam, it is haram itself. What has kidnapping teenage girls and bombing and killing people indiscriminately, got to do with corruption and disapproval of western education? Zero!

There is a lesson for John Mahama. If you don't put a stop to your massive thieving and corruption in your administration, and improve the lives of the youth, Boko Haram can happen in Ghana.

They have the money and the resources to do it but not the moral judgement. They certainly can achieve more without Ghana. Besides this will make Ghana very vulnerable as we are already from some of the armed robbers who have made Ghana home. Tactical support from the US or Europe is what they need. Indeed, cowards die many times before their death. Let Ghana and for that matter all other West Africa states stay aloof and surely Boko Haram will entrench their positions and start attacking territories not only in Nigeria but throughout West Africa.
Mind you, what are the aspirations of Boko Haram? Is it not for the purpose of creating an Islamic state in which Sharia will be the law of the so-created state and also their belief that Westen education is an anathema? Are we saying that Western education and Islam can only be found in Nigeria? What suggests that when they are successful in Nigeria they will not annex other West African states where Islam exists even if the Islamics in those countries are not hardliners as they are!! It is when that happens that those advocating non-participation in flushing them out now will begin to realize the reality of the situation at which time an Afghanistan situation would have been created in West Africa which includes Ghana.
Let us start thinking beyond today as that mentality is the reason why we find ourselves where we are today.

The difficulty for Pres Goodluck is most probably not how to deal with the Boko Haram per se. It may not really be just a problem of logistics but rather how to manage the ethnic and tribal sentiments and complexity of such a mega-diverse nation. He is a Christian and leader of a nation in which religious differences are not just historical but with active, sharp and prevalent threats coming from the Boko Haram. Remember the Biafra War and the ethnic complexity into which Nigeria as a nation is confronted with. Any political issue with such ethnic and religious twist must be approached really very cautiously as any miscalculated intervention can erupt serious unanticipated consequences or evoke some unfinished conflicts.

So it is quite probable that this is Good luck’s headache. Now, with international intervention or help, the chances are that the Nigerian government will want to deal very ruthlessly with Boko Haram so to leave not even the minutest remnants undestroyed. So my fear is that there could be serious fireworks shortly. Also, international help from all neighbouring nations may be required amid intensified education and publicity to help societies and villages to help trace the children.
