If Mr. Murtala disagrees with what some people thing is the cause of our present economic challenges, why does he still want people to come and talk. If he already knows the problems then he should fix the problem. People will surely link our economic troubles to the present government's policies and I think that the young politician is not suggesting that they will not listen to such submissions.

I wish the good people of this nation will ignore such comments by those who claim to know everything (but they are still failing) and still go and share their ideas about the possible causes and solution for our current troubles.

People have been saying that the direction of the country is not right but the government always refute that allegation. Now, the chickens are coming home to roost. I will advise NPP members not to attend that forum because Mahama is taunting them with "Yentie Obiara".

It must be sent to parliament house and the school of Economics of the University of Ghana for further deliberation. The MPs (representatives) must consult their constituents.

I have no doubt in my mind of the fruitlessness of this agreement. Europeans are not altruistic. As Americans say pull yourself up by your own bootstraps. They are seeking their welfare first. A fact which must not be lost on us. The agreement is based on the assumption that some countries are not as intelligent as they are. We need to ask them how OECD and WTO fit into this.

We have to think for ourselves. We must not play second fiddle to any economic bloc. The neocolonialists would not have their way.

There is a more elegant solution awaiting the prudent seeker.

D0 you now see how unwise it is for a president who though rode on the waves of a political party to ascend to the highest position in the land to engage in petty politics when addressing his constituents who now should be all Ghanaians and no longer only his party members? The President enters the stronghold of an opposing political party and engages in disparaging comments amidst the blaring of a song which lyrics tell the people he cares less about what they say about their plight and difficulties and just immediately comes to his seat of power to order all and sundry to rally round him to proffer suggestions about how to carry out his mandate which the people gave to him based upon his promise to them that he is best positioned to carry them to the land of "corn and wine"
We are all human and prone to making mistakes but when we have spokespersons who seek to deify us as to seeing us do no wrong hence defending the indefensible then it is really worrying and thus do not give opportunity to leaders to reflect and make amends. As Ghanaians we have a common destiny regardless which party , tribe, religion or view we hold on an issue. We should be bold to chastise our leaders when they go wrong.In doing so does not mean we do not love them but simply because it should be Ghana first and certainly not a political party.
