  I think this idea is laudable. This help voters to understand how effective their MP's are in making decision in parliament Not just following the party.
  This is being applied in the U.S Senate and house of Reps. The masses use the MP's decision to vote either to maintain them or not. It also put the MPs on their toes so as not to vote stupidly, but think before voting.
  However, some votes are sometimes for parties lines.

  is meaningless and not useful everything is done along party lines in this country! Is this suggestion is intended to 'reward' or 'punish' lawmakers who exhibit independence on key nationals issues? How come did Prof Ocquaye not encourage many of his pals in the NPP to participate in tne just ended NEF? When people outside the legislature, like Osafo Marfo, can be prevented from doing their 'own thing',how can MPS elected on party tickets openly deviate from a party position,even if its in the interest of their constituents and the country,as a whole?
  He should therefore be brave to criticize the pack or herd mentality which his own party,the NPP,follows in every move it takes, both within and outside the confines of parliament!

  The Ghanaian Parliament is a disappointment to the voters.Not a single one of them have the interest of the people who voted them to the house.All they can agree on in Parliament,is how they can get salary increment,free housing,free Cars,free house boys and girls and the next election.
  They disagree on anything which is not in their personal interest.The NDC members will rubber stamp anything from Government,whether it will benefit the people or not,and NPP will oppose anything from the Government whether it is good for the people or not.
  There is no control mechanism in Parliament to control Government,as long as the MPs are getting their money,the rest of us can go to hell.

This guy should contest a party's presidential candidacy and he should be voted to lead the party, and well-intentioned Ghanaian s irrespective of any political affiliation should vote for him.   When I see some of these former MPs who make such noises, I get sick. Mike Ocquaye thinks he is the smartest guy in Ghana. He should tell Ghanaians what led to his appointment as Ghana high commissioner to India. He was bought off to make room for another person for the NPP chairmanship.. What is worse than being bought off. If it was a matter of standing up and be counted, he should have done so when Kuffour baited him with that small fish of Ghana high commissioner for India.'
