Sure, perhaps get him to the hospital faster, since I am sure, he would not know how to do CPR which is one of the many things getting a para medic in place quickly accomplishes. Ghana needs a better health care system to save lives. The God in the developed countries is the same as in Ghana so we know the difference in life expectancy in the two worlds is a matter of the kind of health care gotten in emergencies etc.

In the developed countries even the a homeless drunkard on the side of the road is transported to the hospital in an ambulance much less someone getting a heart/asthma attack on the busy Spintex road. For sure some para medics would have been around in minutes to help before whisking him to the hospital. This is a repeat of Mills' situation so when are things going to change? Are our people going to continue dying senselessly?

If even he wants to do it, do we have the necessary facilities in ghana to perform such vital exams?
You see, this is why I've always maintained that our governments in most parts of Africa are useless! No wonder the whiteman scorns at us! In places where healthy drinking water is second to none, we have goverment officials plundering the meargre resources for their selfish ends!
We all know heart attacks occur everywhere on earth but many of them are treatable when taken care of properly!! All indcations exposes the fact that our system is shamefully flawed!! If we couldn't manage to save our presidents and retarded ministers in an emergency then what's going to be the fate of the cocoa farmer?
We Africans have still not been able to navigate our way out of this blatant idiocy! Sometimes, I tend to forget myself and think this curse is only "bestowed" on Ghanaians because of our diabolical deeds! But wait a minute!! At a time when half of the country of Nigeria has been taken over by the dreaded Boko haram, Badluck Jonathan had the time to spend over 30million dollars for his daughters wedding!!! With the bride receiving 80 cars as gifts and dishing out customized gold plated Samsung phones---made in Seoul!
Yet no ambulance in the streets of Africa! No fire trucks! No drinking water! We are still groping in the dark--with no electricity! The streets are more than death traps----and above all, armed robbers are celebrating! EI---EWIASE B3N NI?

The man seemed to have suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while driving alone but a good Samarathan cabbie who happened to see him first perhaps didn't know what to do but did his best to convey him to the health facility in his taxi. To question that "Did the nation serve you in your moment of need?" is a bit unfair to the state.

Ghana needs a national debate with the view to establishing a well thought out plan for the delivery of emergency and critical services that befits an emerging economy. I wish I was in a position of authority, politics aside to advice the president. First, our president dies and all theories emerge as to his dying moments. Now PV dies and taken to hospital in a Taxi. We have oil, we have a presidential jet, we are building first world type malls, now it is about time we tackled emergency and critical care in Ghana. We need to do this as a mater of urgency as we have the best and brightest helping elsewhere and if encouraged are prepared to bring their expertise to benefit our country.

People are scratching their heads as to what happened to such a man who had everything, including bottomless wherewithal that enabled him access to the best medical care in the world. With our traditional culture of ascribing to deep superstition, PV's sudden death opens a great platform for metaphysical activities to blossom. The issue should be a mass training of the population in administering first aid and not mode of transport to the hospital.

Ghana has lost a real Nationalistic man, a man full of wisdom and served as an advisor to Presidents. University Hall (KATANGA) as the hall is known has lost a real Fellow. I can recall my first encounter with him in 1987 during the Hall's Siver Jubilee and how he submitted himself to be ponded. I sentenced him to 10 years with hard labour and 5 years was suspended. I did not have the opportunity to pond him again though the last time I met him I reminded him and he only said "wo ye bad paa ooh" and his broad smile was evident. FELOW CHARGE NO MORE. FELLOW REST IN PERFECT PEACE.
