  The NPRA should quickly give statements on workers' contributions to them. The SSNIT which collects the 5% contributions can provide the name of current employers who are employing the contributing workers for the statements ...

  The NPRA should quickly give statements on workers' contributions to them. The SSNIT which collects the 5% contributions can provide the name of current employers who are employing the contributing workers for the statements to be mailed to them.
  
  Regarding the low interest rate of 2.5% reported to have been earned on the accumulated contributions, I believe that the NPRA need to revisit the figure and up it, given that interest rates on deposits at banks are far above the 2.5%.

  This strike is one too many. I think the gov't needs to institute punitive sanctions against these striking teachers. withhold their salaries for no work done and seek damages in court for losses incurred. They are becoming disruptive to human decency.

  Socrates, do you understand what is going on? Government made deductions at source and had to pay that money into a trust to be invested on the teachers behave. They claim the money is in a temporary account. Ghana will remain Ghana. What they had to do is invest the money and send quarterly statements to members showing their contributions and interest earned.

  Why should government set up its own Corporate Trustee for all government employees? Why take it from SSNIT and create another government entity to manage the tier two if personal interest is not involved here? This government is fond of creating entities through which huge amounts of monies are redirected for personal benefits. There is always a day of accountability.
