If they will return all the monies and property that they have stolen since Rawlings' time, Ghana will have more than enough money for development. I wonder what has happened to security forces including the police and Army. It seems they are also involved in the loot and share business. That is why they don't do anything. Instead they look on unconcerned as if all is well. Useless bunch of soldiers and police. We must abolish these harmful and useless security forces. We need BOKO HARAM to deal with them.

Lots of laws in usa require contracts to be talked about where news reporters/citizens can heard before they are signed...Usually only land deals are keep quiet to keep owners from jacking up the prices!

Mahama should show his mettle by refusing to budge on any arm-twisting strategies by the Chinese. We did not need that loan at all in the first place. If we have some sense, we will begin to think of other viable alternatives ...

Mahama should show his mettle by refusing to budge on any arm-twisting strategies by the Chinese. We did not need that loan at all in the first place. If we have some sense, we will begin to think of other viable alternatives to fund our national plans. How can educated Ghanaian official negotiate loans without proper guarantees for youth employment? FOOLS, and POLITICAL TWITS Ghana has got to the extent that we all prepared to take loans and pay huge interests yet import the Chinese to take jobs that those loans were to bring as benefits to the nation. Mahama should be firm for a change and stick to the original terms and rather issue a warning to Chinese that if by the agreed date the money is not released, Ghana will consider the deal dead. Following from that all Chinese contracts, businesses and privileges should be stopped and rescinded.

LOOK,EVEN THE DISBURSED AMOUNT WAS RELEASED FOR A CONTRACT THE NDC GOVERNMENT,HAD ALREADY GIVEN TO A CHINESE FIRM.

The Chinese has used their cunningness,craftiness and tactical means to outwit our NAIVE,IGNORANT,INCOMPETENT NDC GOVERNMENT.
NDC LACKS CRITICAL THINKERS,PERIOD.
What they have to know is,in negotiation,no one wishes any losses.
That is what the Chinese are telling NDC CROOKS.
If the Chinese know that NDC GOVERNMENT HAS BORROWED MORE THAN WHAT THE OIL REVENUE COULD CATER FOR,DO YOU THINK THEY ARE FOOLS TO DISBURSE SOME MORE?
That's the whole problem,MAHAMA'S NDC is facing,with these corrupt bullies.

why not use oil profit for projects in the first place? why in a hurry to get loans and use oil as payment with fees and interest? what kind of leaders are these? Ghana was there before the oil discovery... geez

Another thing that worries me is that if the government has to pay 13,000 barrels a day how will it do it? The government does not own the oil, the oil companies do.

Many Ghanaians think the government should use the oil money to do this and that, whilst not even one of the oil drilling machines and high tech equipments was purchased by Ghana.

This oil ownership has not been forgotten but simply Ghanaians do not understand the implications about who owns the oil now, hence their loose talks all the time.

It remains to be seen if the NPP - the party which have been raising hell against the Chinese loan - will be able to get the similar amount of loan to address the colossal deficit in Ghana's infrastructural development, if they take power when NDC complete the 8 years, consciously, allotted to each of the two parties (NPP & NDC) by Ghanaian voters during elections since the current Constitution, in 2016. POLITICAL SABOTEUR HAS A THROW-BACK EFFECT ON THOSE WHO ENGAGE IN IT. IT ALSO STOPS COUNTRY'S DEVELOPMENT. YOU DO ME, I DO YOU.

There is nobody and for that matter a bank on this earth which will not see additional risks with the way we are currently managing our economy to put his billions in without asking for additional interest, guarantee etc. Ghanaians think that the Chinese money was an easy money. If the Chinese were that stupid and had mismanaged their economy they way we doing to ours do you think they could have accumulated the 3 billion for us go and borrow? The Chinese entity is pure bank and they think as such and hence will make demands for additional cover like any other sane person or bank would do before committing that $3b into this fire. Let us think before we judge.

You see, they know the corrupt appetite of these guys they're dealing with. What financial wiz in the world does not know what is going on in Ghana? The Chinese know without a blinking doubt that, a percentage of their hard earned money will be going into individual pockets, so they want their share in the form of more guarantees or none for them. In short, the Chinese do not TRUST our financial swindlers who are salivating in wait. They want us ( Ghanaians ) to know all what is on the table before they say adieu.

It does not make any economic sense to build about 5 landing sites for fishermen only in the Central region with the CDB loan.What govt should have done is build just one modern seaport including a fishing harbour and a drydock like what Kwame Nkrumah did in Tema.The simple reason is that this project could be viable,creates jobs for all sectors and develop the country.By the way,we keep saying that our fish stock is drying up day in day out.So what's the logic in putting millions of dollars in waste project?I don't get it,I am from the region but I don't see any wisdom in it.Thank God they are going to the negotiating table.
