  WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WITH THIS TIMBER BUSINESS. AFTER GALAMSEY, IT WILL BE THE NEXT TO DESTROY OUR ENVIRONMENT. WE NEED OUR FORESTS TO SURVIVE. PREVENT GHANA FROM BECOMING A DESERT.

  When European countries are protecting their trees, we are thinking of giving licensing which end up going to corrupt bribe-pronged foreigners. Can't we for once say we are banning the export of our timber. If any one wants ...

  When European countries are protecting their trees, we are thinking of giving licensing which end up going to corrupt bribe-pronged foreigners. Can't we for once say we are banning the export of our timber. If any one wants our timber, they should set up here in Ghana and process. We need leadership with BALLS. Stop the corruption

  radical measures need to be taken to reverse the deforestation of Ghana at one of the highest rate worldwide.
  Ghana is ill-advised to sell it's fast depleting resources for industrial processing abroad, just to get some immediate revenues to keep it above water.
  
  Including stopping the uncontrolled burning for hunting and "slash and burn" cultivation. The smoke from Westafrican manmade fires even alters the weather in Southamerica.
  The constant burning (traditionally it was after 6-7 years, by now yearly, due to population expansion and greed) does not allow the regrowth of new trees.
  
  At least this Timber Validity License makes it a little bit harder to steal and trick, and it might raise some conscience on the matter, but Ghana still has to find the radical roots of the matter, before it may be too late.
