Its a good thing for majority of Ghanaians to learn about CPR.However,if the alleged cause of death(severe acute asthma) is true then performance of CPR could not have saved his life.When one is short of oxygen supply to key organs of the body especially,the brain due to inflammation and build up of mucus in the airways and tightness of the bronchial muscles,no amount of CPR can get air through this highly compromised airway.The solution in this case is the immediate supply of oxygen together with a drug that will help open his airways immediately(Short acting beta agonist) eg salbutamol (nebulized).It is sad that this great man of our land,should die this way.The lesson to all asthmatics is that,please do take your medications as required and minimize exposure to your trigger factors to prevent precipitation of severe acute attacks.

BTW, the hypocrisy accusation is directed at those praising him, mostly from the NDC party itself, while they allegedly hated him when he was alive, not you who hated him even in death and are rejoicing.

Anyway, I don't think they hated him and they are hypocrites. It only shows that some MDC members hate corruption and would subject even their own stalwarts to severe sanctions and treatment when accused of the canker, guilty or not! But since PV was not all warts and horns but had some redeeming features, it is not hypocritical to mention those too.

You see, we can have sane exchanges on national issues without all that unwholesome ethnocentric diatribe!

A man who professed friendship to a leading politician and then reported him as a drug user to, of all people, a high official of a foreign embassy.

P.V. Obeng was exposed in a competent Norwegian court as a recipient of bribes on behalf Rawlings and NDC. What credibility does the judiciary system in Ghana have? A court system that has awarded hundreds of millions of state money to people who do not have contracts with the government? Spare us the insult after the injury! P.V. Obeng was thoroughly corrupt and devious and represented what is fundamentally wrong with Ghana and why the country's economy is in tatters despite receipts from diverse resources! The hypocrites are all those showering praises on a crook who got away with murder, and Pratt's words make him the leader of the professional mourners at Obeng's symbolic wake.

How could Rawshit and others declare that PV died of a massive asthma attack when no autopsy report has been issued? How did he have a massive asthma attack while driving and then was able to stop the car and park in the middle of the road without crashing? Or did he, like Mills - according to Cadman Mills - raise his hands and say "I give all to you God!" Why didn't the taxi driver who found him call for an ambulance? Why is the story changing? First, they said he was found in the middle of the road. Now they say he was found near a gas station! There are just too many inconsistencies and resemblances to Mill's mysterious death. Let the family declare what the autopsy says killed PV or shut up everybody. MASSIVE ASTHMA ATTACK, MY FOOT!

PV, in spite of all the predictable positive tributes, had more to gain to cover his misdeeds/corrupt practices than to expose his vulnerability through dissent within NDC. He knew a lot that went wrong during his close association with JJ, but did not have the courage to speak out when it mattered most. PV, was more interested in protecting his ill-gotten gains and sought to remain relevant to the vindictive NDC-he was constantly looking over his shoulders for obvious reasons. His long-term public service, spanning some 33 years (1981-2014) was not borne out of pure political/ideological conviction or selflessness but by fear of the ''shadows'' of past corrupt association with JJ from the Mankoadze days. In the end he assisted in overthrowing a legitimately elected government of Dr Limann but what legacy did he leave to justify his role in the misrule by JJ? Nothing, except greed and more greed while the country has retrogressed in deserved development for 30 years. How come we still talk of filth enveloping Accra and other cities? God help black leaders, who still do not understand the world and yet pretend that they can rule a nation!! Schools, hospitals, and roads still remain poorly developed, and PV was central to most of the key decisions over the P/NDC 26 years rule of Ghana-as he was touted as the Prime Minister in the PNDC days.

buddy, there's some truth of pv. obeng robbing some italians of their properties because i use to hear from the very mouth of alberto a son of the victim of pv. obeng's thievery. i worked with the son of the victim in the same hospital in united kingdom. the man pv. obeng was a thief and criminal. don't try any harder to defend him unless you're related to him.

CHRAJ found them culpable. Instead of prosecuting them, the PNDC issued a white paper to exonerate them.

When the Norwegian Cement Company revealed in the Norwegian courts that they had paid bribes to Rawlings through PV, PV put out the nonesensical defence that "he was paid for a consultancy" and Wofa Ata accepted that weak defence.

Whatever anyone says about PV's long involvement in government, the fact that there could not even be an ambulance to take him to the nearest hospital for a nearly harmless asthma attack tells all about his legacy!

But a man live by his examples so, PV Obeng would be judge by his examples. I find Pratt comment very weird because, how could people have other perceptions of PV including his own government members. I guess when you don't trust one enougth is often constitute their behaviour or doings. What man do also follows efter them and it could be possible, we did not know him properly since many people have different view on him. I believe that, the jugdement capacity of the people conclude who you were and that peoples perception is a fact that you cant change.
