I am not saying Kufuor was not a thief, but I am saying that Rawlings is the greater thief!!! You asked for proof? In fact there are too many but I will list just a few:
1. Selling most of our State owned factories and institutions to foreigners at a pittance or entirely closing them down.
2. The partially completed original N1 highway which was supposed to be a double road but later converted to a single road.(Many other road contracts followed the same pattern).
3. The illegal funding of the 31 Dec. Women's movement and the forced take-over of Nsawam Cannery factory.

These are just a few examples of serious corruption under Rawlings. Where did he get his jaguar from while he was in office? Was it his own money or state funds? If it was his own money, where did he get the money from?

China agrees Guinea mining deal
Rio Tinto, Chinalco and the International Finance Corporation have signed a deal to develop Guinea's iron ore deposits.

The Simandou project, which has been delayed for years, would be the biggest iron ore and infrastructure project developed in Africa, the firms said.

The $20bn (£12bn) "investment framework" provides legal and financial backing for the project.

The framework will now go the Guinean National Assembly for ratification.

If ratified, the three parties said they would complete a feasibility study, including timeline and costs, within about a year.

President of the Republic of Guinea Alpha Conde said: "With massive infrastructure investment, this project is of critical importance for the people of Guinea.

"It's a nationwide priority that goes beyond the mines and far beyond our generations. With transparent and fair deals, our mining sector has the potential to be a game changer for Guinea."

'World class'
As well as mining the iron ore, the three partners said they were working together to raise the funds to build a 650km railway and a deep-water port to transport the rocks and minerals.

They said the project had the potential to double Guinea's GDP and create 45,000 jobs.

"Today is an important milestone in the development of this world-class iron ore resource for the benefit of all shareholders and the people of Guinea," said Sam Walsh, chief executive of Rio Tinto.

Rio Tinto will take a 46.6% stake in the project, Chinalco 41.3%, Guinea 7.5% and IFC 4.6%.

Rio was first awarded concessions to Simandou almost 10 years ago, but was forced to give up those in the northern part of the range of hills in 2008. These were then given to BSG Resources, a company controlled by Israeli billionaire Beny Steinmetz.

Last month, the BSGR permits were rescinded by the Guinean government, paving the way for the deal between Rio and Chinalco.

The mere fact that Mr Rawlings has nothing better to do to occupy his time in retire gives him the impetus to wind up his fellow retirees. He is forever depicting himself as an innocent person but he keeps forgetting about the hundreds of innocent victims who were massacred or disappeared without trace under his watch as a ruthless despot ruler for 19 fruitless years. Most people have not yet forgotten nor forgiven him for all the atrocities committed under his reign as president. Yes, it is true people of Ghana prefer to see him die a natural death in his own bed than bump him off as a target for an assassin. But however most of us would rather he kept his madness to himself and stopped making occasional public nuisance of condemning other people's character. Perhaps it would be best to lock him up in one of the High Security establishments and throw the key away.

We all forget that JJ was a leader for the longest time in history of the country, and that the people in question are well known to him, because he has worked with them and knows them well. If he says something like this, we should listen and find meaning in them. What does Kabila know than to make noise all day long. Corruption in Ghana has stayed too long that we all think it ia okay that it stay the way it is. But, lets take a look at Liberia, Serra leone, Somalia, to mention but a few and stand behind those who have the courage to speak up against this bad cancer that is eating our country.
