Schlupp, Essien are considered utility players, i.e. u can use them in many places. Such players are valuable to always be in the squad

for instance at angola 2010 this utility tag was used to smuggle rahim into the first team ahead of the tried & trusted hans adu sapei only for us to see how rahim standard was no where near the opposition.

You said well but compare those teams you mentioned to BS. Again, most of these players you mentioned have been utilized in different positions in their clubs; especially CR & Messi.

From all indications, he will not only make it to Brazil. He will start as a left back. He's a good player, young and hard worker. Afful may start as a right back.

Ghana is lucky to have such comparatively tall defensive player; could be a threat against opponents in corner kicks, especially being also ambidextrous to boot. Praise be to the Almighty.
