I wish the 23 selected for the Ghana Black Stars squared for Brazil. We all want good game. I am sure that those players who could not make it should hold on to their good game, but never to be discouraged. I wish them well.

If you follow Ghana's friendlies in the previous world cup years, you will realize that the BS never do well, friendlies dont count. I was happy with the fact that there was a massive improvement on our performance against Bosnia. Our boys did not attempt enough shots, agreed, the defense went to sleep on a few occasions but then aside of those, we held a Holland side that were runners up in the last WC, they were players at home in front of their supporters, have Robin, Schnider, Blind, Van Persie, these are world class players, yet our boys did not look out of their depth. Dont forget, that team was not our best 11 whereas Holland put out their first 11. We did well considering the factors I have just listed. Come the world cup proper, our first 11 will be a match for any team including Germany, Portugal, Spain and yes Holland. You mark my word.

First Jordan's inclusion to the final quad was questionable and I understood that.

Secondary, Akaminko injury was a big blow to the depleted defence so why cut off Jeffrey Schulpp? Even he was far better than Inkoom but due to the Akaminko's injury, all defence should have been untouchable.

But now that the door has been shut, what can we do. In fact, I am very terrify about our defence now, the hopes and enthusiasm I used to have were all gone.

Essien is finished completely and there is no doubt about that. And are we going to the world cup with the players we think can deliver or with the players on good form? We can't depend on Essien on the midfield. You see, there are so many kw3sion than hanzas but what can we do, only to keep mute because it is too late now to look for hanzas.

Haa let us hope for the best and only time will tell.

Jerry would have been number three or even four (based on yesterday's performance) on the peeking order for central defense behind Mensah and Boye. Defensive midfielders like Essien and Rabiu can play in place of Akaminko if needed. Essien is not going to be a starter in this midfield; Afriyie has shown he deserves that spot.
Jeff Schlupp is not good enough to play on this team. He would have become a target for opposing coaches. Besides he was second in line after Afful for the left back position. Don't forget that Asa and Rabiu have also excelled in that position. I would much rather see them pulled back from midfield to play in defense than to see a hole in our back four. We have plenty of midfielders to backfill them. Our team is midfield heavy but that is a defining characteristic of our football. It is what makes us unpredictable and difficult to beat.

Knowing that the 'backside maloot' was weak, DRAA should have made it a 'nine piece wall' instead of eight.
The selected eight wasn't that bad or poor since there isn't much of a difference between 8 and 9.

When Akaminko-the Boy Alone's demise
got protracted, common sense could have altered the DRAA Law to send SOS to Kwabena Edusei or Isaac Vorsah, even to extend the call to John Mensah in a desperate attempt to patch the broken wall.

But what did we see? Another defender was taken out reducing the number to seven. And like I said elsewhere, FIFA
would always love to edge these African reps in the WC out thru the refereeing system.
In this connection, it could be possible one or two of our defenders could be red carded in the early minutes or during the dying minutes of a game.
Yellow carding could be flashing in our faces in furtherance of FIFA skirmishes to avoid Africa getting close to the semis and or the finals.

Soo deafOO, until the DRAA Law revamp the defense department, I am gonna wage a campaign against it.
In the mean time, till an adjustment is made, I say:The DRAA Law sucks.

After all, the World Cup is what counts the most for all assembled before Brazil and of course the hot promotion ticket for a call-up into the big leagues across Europe and elsewhere. Generally,strikers are brutally tackled than the midfielders,therefore they should have been many out there as reserves,should incase something fatal happens to some of the few selected to go.

Secondly, I didn't see our characteristic firing from different angles including from afar. Besides, we didn't string our passes correctly, and lost balls very often. Dribblers like Dede and Atsu should be allowed to dribble their way into the danger zone to create free kicks and penalties. The last problem is that we relied too much on Adoma but here I guess it is probably meant to try him. GO GHANA GO!

This sickness must be done away with in an match practice scenario which focuses on the gains beginning and a pacier warm up exercise before matches. Against Montenegro and the Dutch, we conceded in the first 20 minutes before we took charge of the game. The cause is what I just illustrated

Appiah should start taking the team through match scenarios and let them practice. eg if Muller manages to get the ball and he's through on goal and Jonathan Mensah is on his far left, should he go and cover the pole and allow his goal keeper to come close Muller down or close Muller down himself. The team must start doing this guided scenario practices so that the defenders don't go and panic and lose their positional sense and composure when Muller or Ronaldo or any other deadly opponent simply starts a move or gets an opportunity. So long us the ball hasn't crossed the goal line, there's always an chance to stop and you can do that only if you're composed and retain your clear mind as to what to do at all times

More credit to Coach Kwesi Appiah for making the final selection of the 23 players who will represent Ghana in Brazil 2014. This kind of decision is one of the toughest a coach can make: No matter who is in & who is out, the fans, reporters, and the "armchair coaches" always tend to disagree with the coach's choices. And yet at the end of the day, there can be only ONE coach for the Black Stars: Coach Kwesi Appiah. I think what we the fans need to do is to trust in the coach's expertise & experience, & respect him, his decisions, & his staff & team. We need to throw our unyielding support behind him & the Black Stars. Coach Appiah has been able to bring the team this far; & win or lose, we need to back him & the team solidly. The 0-1 loss to the Netherlands in yesterday's warm-up friendly, and any losses or wins in subsequent warm-up friendlies will not be a guaranteed indication of how the Black Stars w'd perform in Brazil 2014. What we need to focus on are the review of the Gh/Netherlands match and what next.
1. Let us start with the Coach and the team. Appiah and his team need to step up the
roll on the sideline. It’ no longer African Football, where many things are taken for
granted and yet one can wobble like humpty-dumpty into the Finals.
This is World Class Football. Coaches are diligent and control the game. Pushing
up the players such that they do not take chances. Appiah was more like a spectator
the entire 90 mins. Not even a notebook all the strengths and weakness to act on
them. Appiah you need to start doing so even in the South Korea friendly. Not a
single plus or minus (+ or -) should escape your view.

2. The Captain must motivate the team. Essein did NOTHING during the first half. During the second half Andre Ayew took that responsibility and did it so well. Please we need someone to MOTIVATE AND CONTROL THE TEAM on the pitch.

3. We must not play like sheep without a shepherd whereby everybody does what he liked: No motivation, no checks, no instructions to take care of opponents who are left loosed. NO CREATIVITY at all. I was expecting a hidden OFFSIDE TRAP at some time, to check their rampages.

4. Essien can not play 90 minutes. If he has to play he should come in for the 2nd half or better, during the last 30minutes like most senior players did – Roger Miller, Ndubuisi Kanu etc. With 30 minutes leading to the end of the match he must be able to play ALL OUT with experience and strength and make MARKS.

5. I found the Team technically sick. The players were too slow. When they wanted to create a body swerve or cross a ball, they rehearse it to the full glare of the opponent acting – of course the failed. No counter attacks when clear opportunities came. Back passes where to many – Essien did that so often – we nearly lost a goal from of such.

We should have known Robben loves to use spaces, the players should have sort out their steps to match his steps so that they can pick out the run of his accomplice and cut out the pass or set offside trap. But know one did that. If they're not practicing on scenarios and integrating it into the training system, then they'd be punished at the world cup because the efficiency of the European football doctrine is within 90 to 100%. Rabiu was the only player who seemed to understand this method of defending but he's only one person

How this difficulty will be addressed depends on the feasibility of some of the too many midfielders like Michael Essien, Rabiu Mohammed, Afriyie Acquah, Agyeman Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah being converted into defenders. What could aggravate the situation is the fact that most of our players in the defence delight in fanciful displays in what we refer to as "master game" without the sense of urgency. This is going to be some World Cup for Ghana. I hope Ghana would have a good tournament to pu our fears to rest.

The best in team was the goalkeeper and eventhough he didn't played full match Andre Ayew..love these players...all workers..and let not forget Essien..he did his part to.

Defence remains a big problem and again..if Ghana is in ball position they don't know what to do..and like to hold the ball too long in back with create risks.
