Not that it was a surprise, because the NDC at any time sought to destroy the country, but that you chiefs took the achievements of the NPP you were enjoying for granted and believed in NDC lies, not being informed by historical facts. The UK went into double dip reccession around the same time Mills/Mahama came into power but today the UK are slowly but surely turning the corner with their economy picking up. We on the other hand in Ghana are sinking deeper and deeper into the sh** this NDC govt has created.

This promise and fail Govt is even worse than what former president Kufuor warned us about in 2008. Remeber he warned that if NDC came to power in 2009, they will erode all the gains Ghana had made in the last 8 years and most of us thought it was just campaign talk. Today look where we are, no water, erratic power supply, poor sanitation, non compliance with statutory payments, collapsing NHIS & School feeding program, numerous uncompleted projects and to crown it all depreciating cedi killing small and medium sized businesses and forcing big companies to lay of thousands of workers. If this is the better Ghana agenda then please let me have the one that existed before this.

I'm now beginning to believe what people say that NDC rode on the successes of the previous govt in the first 2 to 3 years when they came to power, they failed to strategise and plan ahead and now the gains have eroded, they haven't got a clue what to do next.

These Volta chiefs should not hold their breath, they are all part of the problem and so long as we continue to vote along tribal lines and encourage tribal politics, we will continue to suffer. Our plight is self inflicted.
You vote for humble but visionless and incompetent people so you can control them or dictate to them and when they fail to deliver you start complaining. You are now complaining of being treated as second class citizens and being cut off from the rest of the country, you are lucky the previous govt even constructed the Keta Sea defence wall to stop you being washed away from the country all together. Next time, vote with your head and not your heart so your children and grandchildren will benefit from your good foresight and responsible actions.

Volta Chiefs should kindly find a better way to attract private investors into the region. Hence, places where there is trouble, chiefs must insure that there is peace in their towns because no investor would like their properties destroyed by some ruthless religious youths(thugs)who have no respect for elders or human life. Also lands in the region must be leased and not sold, to benefit the locals and the generations yet not born. There should be proposals to attract Ewes living abroad to invest in their region and not fear, and instead leave to invest in other regions in the country. Chiefs must be careful how they address their people. Any threat to the life of a family esp. during a funeral or unrest could discourage and allow future visionaries to resettle somewhere else. Shalom.

We are tired, Volta Chiefs bark at Mahama, so the story line goes.
The Volta region has all along being giving the impression to the rest of Ghanaians that, the suffering most Ghanaians were going through was not affecting them, because their gov't was in power and in fact, were going to vote for them come what may. Dr. Kwabena Adjei the Chairman of the NDC party which claims the Volta region as it's World bank put it better, when he said, "they were assured of a certain percentage of voters irrespective of how badly the country was being run". So it is interesting to hear this from the World bank of the NDC.
However, all is not lost and it presupposes to teach all of us Ghanaians that, we sink or soar together and it's important the highly incapable Mahama/Amissah Arthur led NDC gov't, which has demonstrated a legendary inability to govern and to deliver on the growth and development of the country for all Ghanaians is massively sent packing at the ballot box, for a competent team to address the problems bedeviling the nation. Ghana deserves the best.

In as much as I agree with the chiefs about their complain, I will also advise them to use some of the money they receive from selling land to contribute to road construction. If they start their initiative then they can put more pressure on government to complete more road construction works in their region and cities. They should ask themselves how much money they have from selling the stool's lands. We can all help Ghana.

The NDC government has nothing good to offer Ghanaians except corruption, it is rather unfortunate that despite all the infrastructure developments that the NPP under former President Kuffour brought to the Volta Region within the eight years in office yet the people of Volta did not check this track record voted for NDC. Mahama has failed Ghanaians, Volta Region is not a distinct Region in Ghana. The Better Ghana Agenda used as campaign slogan is not meant for only the people of Volta but rather for all Ghanaians it has no political affiliation and remember Mahama is President of Ghana not the Volta Region. Please let us all do soul search and reflect very well on the performance of the current government.
We need to think very well before voting in December, 2016. We need to vote-in the government that will make us a better Ghana for all to enjoy. Tribal lines of voting is not healthy for Ghana. By tribal lines of voting we need the American democratic type of government: Turning our regions into Federal States, with indigenous tribal men administering. It will eventually invite inward-looking in regard to states employments. Please we should avoid tribal lines of voting. We should vote and change governments when they are under performing. Ghana is for all of us to subsist freely, peacefully, and live together. We are one people, we should get our priority right. Our love for Ghana should be SUPREME
