Massa, the facilitating of this project and numerous others like the above read were initiated under the (Ghana @ 50), contracts awarded, funds allocated with parliament blessing to fully see the projects through to its fruition. But, somehow somewhere, some bunch of people got smarter and rather did justice to their own pockets hence rendering most of these so-called (Ghana @ 50) projects in the state we are scrutinising today. Well, isn't that ironic?

Now, the NDC government promised to continue any resourceful projects of National interest if and only if the initial funds assigned to them are still on the books and are ongoing. A reference in case, is the just completed Bui Dam, the ongoing “dualization” of Achimota to Kumasi highway and many others littered across the country. In short, anything laconic of the above can go bite the dust. It’s as simply as A, B, C and expensive E. No more double money for one and the same project.

both "far out there at Kumasi ..", whilst at the same time crying over lack of Housing for Security Personnel, and thus the need for a billion-dollar-Chinese-loan. ...

First of all, the People can go to the Courts to demand that the Project be completed. If anyone responsible for the construction of the Project claims there are no funds to finish it, the People must demand to know if the funds were not initially allocated for the full implementation of the Project.

If the funds were fully allocated at the beginning, the People must demand to know how much was spent on the Project and what has become of the remainder. If any Official diverted the remainder of the funds to something else, the Court would have to ask for any justification for such diversion.

Meanwhile, the People must allege that their land was demanded for that Project that could have been used for something else. Besides, they could charge the Project Management for wasteful dissipation of funds for abandoning it, given that the Tax Payers' money was used to erect the structures to the point at which it is now. Leaving the Project to rot amounts to causing financial loss to the State.

However, if the Town needs the facility so badly, it can take its own initiative to impose levies to fund its completion and charge that expense to the State.

It is this kind of foolish abandonment of Projects that is causing most of Infrastructural expenditure to skyrocket, even if they are ever completed later.

Worse still, it is our elected Politicians who are playing chess with them. They abandon these Projects because their opponents in Power might have initiated them. These wicked Politicians causing the abandonment often think completing the Project gives the credit to only their opponents who initiated them, and they would rather deny those opponents any such credit. However, in the end, it is the People and the Nation that suffer.

What a clique of 'educated' morons!! Every Project initiated by the Government must be completed on schedule, barring special Economic circumstances. It does not matter what Administration started it, or whose brainchild the Project is. The simple fact of the matter is that it is the State's money that have been used to pay for the work done on it, thus far. And it should not be left to rot to waste the investment made on it.

Often we even fail to consider the longterm, numerous benefits such Projects might bring us to offset its cost.

Oh, Ghanaian Politicians! When will they ever learn?
