For those who remember, Rawlings reported in the media that the AFRC collected over 300 million cedis during the "accountability days" of 1979, but left only about 30 million of that amount to the Limann government. Just a few weeks ago, Tony Lithur "won" about $4.9 million for his mystery client, Rawlings. Justice Apau cowardly approved the judgment debt throwing popcorn questions to Tony Lithur.

No one challenges Rawlings, so he feels more emboldened to continue misbehaving. He accounted to nobody for 19 years when he was in power, and has continued to do so for another 16 years since leaving power. Murder is murder, and theft is theft. If the Indemnity Clause shields murderers and thieves, then there is no constitution. Rawlings can be prosecuted under the fourth Republican Constitution. He can also be prosecuted at the International Criminal Court. Rawlings, like anyone else in Ghana, must pay for his crimes.

I don't know whether they really want to let this place function so that we can employ the 2800 people that this factory can employ," Nana Konadu averred.

Then she goes on to say that

So she means that even in the era of her husbands NDC she still could not get the money and so went for a judgement debt. This is laughable.
And when will the economy improve?? She will have to wait until doomsday for that to happen.

Whenever we needed funds for the project we wrote to the Ministry of Finance, and they gave us the amount that was requested for," she said.
I'm confused. How does the ministry of finance come into the equation? How is a govt institution involved in a private partnership between a Ghanaian company and a Chinese company?

Now to your next question re where is Rawlings in the deal. This is a man who shot people for legitimately taking out loans. This is a man who collapsed many private companies out of envy and accused the owners of corruption. What will Rawlings have done to any past president whose wife had "bought" state property? Just as Jakes purchase of his bungalow was said not to be illegal by the courts does not make it right in the same way Konadu's purchase of that business does not make it right.
