The name is APPEARANCE MONEY, in this case the moment the team qualified to take part in the world cup, the FIFA eight million dollars to the team was guaranteed and the moment GFA decided to pay them $75,000 each, they could have used the eight million guaranteed by FIFA to secure a loan from the local Bank and pay the players before they even went out of the country.

This is why I blame the government more than GFA. The moment it promised the team $9.6 million and GFA shouldn't have to pay it back, the government should have immediately given the money to the team but the trick was that, this $9.6 million was not to the Blackstars but the Ministry's budget for its own Officials, NDC Ministers, Party Executives and paying the Ndc foot soldiers to go and support the team in Brazil.

The players have not come to the decision they took lightly and all of a sudden. They have been lied to over and over in times past. Somebody thought they could keep the $3 million dollars and pay the players in the fast depreciating cedi. This the players wouldn't accept hence their resorting to despicable tactics to get their money.

Where in the world would one carry such huge money in suitcases when easy direct wired money transfer could have been done that easily at the click of a mouse through the banks? Did the government even think of the mortal danger they have put the players in, with everybody knowing they have $75,000 cash in their brief cases? What a useless and embarrassing government that we have. The players don't trust John Mahama, NDC and GFA period, because they know them to be corrupt and liars. The propaganda machinery has come home to roost. Nkwaseafuo NDC government disgraces a whole nation in front of the world. What a shame!

I know you have made many attempts to put the blame of this fiasco on the doorsteps of the government which I have no problem with it. However, to absolve Appiah from this imbroglio is hard for me to take you seriously. Appiah needs to take responsibility and stop blaming the players for his incompetence.

Our problem did not begin with the Mahama's administration but rather how poorly Appiah managed and maintained the players. He is the most clueless Coach ever I have ever seen on world stages and we had shared some of his mistakes here. So the problem started with Appiah and we must at all cost find the root cause of the problem and deal with it. Muntari slapping the official is as a result his frustration with the whole world cup program. He knew well that after losing to the US, a chance had been blown up by the coach.

I don't want to go about how as a Coach, he did not even know his best 11 players two weeks before our first match in Brazil and used an important friendly match with the Holland to select his final 23 players. What a silly idea. On the first match, you sent first 11 players to the field NOT to win but "TIRE" American players before sending other players to beat them? What sense does this make? Was it a Marathon race or Football game? But you didn't want us to do any quarter-backing, yet you have finally found out the whole problem.

Now talking about financial problem, do you know that as Coach, Appiah is a MANAGER of the players and GFA and Mahama's administration is like EMPLOYER to these people?

1- Firstly, when did Akwasi Appiah renew his contract with the GFA?

2- HAs he been paid by the GFA or Mahama's administration?

3- Did he know whether his players (employees) under him have been paid or not?

If NO, what did he do to assist his players to get their money?

So SARPONG, you see, it is not only on the field that he failed the players and Ghana but also financially, he failed to assist them. Had he been more concerned about the players financially, these players would not have started this mess.

Did you see how BOYE was kissing the dollars? It tells you how these players were thinking about the money while playing. So don't you think as a Coach or Manager, he should have known how they were been affected psychologically for the lack of funds.

Please, in your next write-up, be fair and put the blame squarely...

These seemingly-petty football issues could have long-term economic repercussion on the country as would-be investors will perceive our governments as not trustworthy.

I see a strong correlation of this 'appearance money' problem with other African countries too - notably the Negro race. What does this tell us?

I don't condone Muntari's physical attack and behaviour, but I think Muntari has a point. What is the purpose of the large contingent of Government and GFA officials in Brazil, apart from being priceless freeloaders? It's shocking that the players are still owed from 2010.
The NDC gov't's only quest in gov't is to loot and steal indiscriminately and it has found it's way into every nook and cranny of administration in the country where stinking thievery is the order of the day, from SADA in the North, to Woyome in Accra, the whole route is littered with thievery, and the most serious thing is that, it has now transcended the borders of the country. In far away Japan, the NDC Ambassador was engage in "chacha". In Liberia, an NDC gov't partner was banned by the World Bank for engaging in improper conduct, and now in Brazil, the reckless penchant for thievery was in full display until some players decided that, they were not going to allow it to happen again. It happened in 2010 and it most definitely was going to happen in 2014, unless they took drastic action which is exactly what happened.
There's no way the country would progress when the Mahama led NDC gov't's only quest in gov't is to loot and thieve. The looting has definitely gone overboard, and the players are not going to do the "monkey dey work, baboon dey chop" kind of football again. If baboon wants to chop, baboon needs to put in the hard work. The players have done so well in making sure that what happened in 2010 did not happen again. Ghana is tired with NDC thievery, period.

This is a disgrace to African football.

Yet CAF is quiet.

CAF should call a special congress after the World Cup and discuss with member associations how to put an end to this perennial problem of rows over remuneration.

Africa has become the laughing stock of the world because of such unsavoury episodes.

CAF must also think of how to improve the performance of our teams in the World cup. We cannot remain bridesmaids at the tournament. We need our teams to progress in the World Cup and aim to win it.

Dse officials can go on their own as individual but not in connection with d team. D big number of FA officials is a total waste of Govt funds.
